Jerk

"Good day gentlemen" Blake said, his voice becoming formal.

He shifted me into another set of waiting arms that I need not need to look up to see the owner.

Asher's body was warm as he pressed me into him. For a moment I forgot about everything while I was in his arms. It was just like Blake said, 'an alternate universe'.

Why on earth was a feeling this way, I mused as Asher grabbed my waist and I stiffened, he didn't do it in a demanding or awful way, he did it in a way full of concern.

My past experiences made me jumpy around men, I looked up to see Asher's accusing glare, and a look that seemed to say , 'we will talk about this later'. I quickly averted my gaze from his.

"What brings about your presence in my home" Blake asked one of the men who seemed like the leader of the group or something of that sort.

" We were given orders from the senator to guard the house, and to guard someone called Audrey Hepburn. We were told that she is in high security risk" the buff man said with a gruff voice.

I suppose the expression of confusion on my face was pretty much clear as day because, neither Blake or Asher's gaze remained on my face.

"Are you sure that , those were your orders" Asher's voice rang out in question

" Yes sir" the man answered.

"Okay, you may get to work" Blake waved them away as we moved into the house and headed straight to rec room.

"First, we still need to clean up Audrey's injuries ,since she has refused to go to the hospital" Asher said with an accusing glare.

"Because, they are barely scratches and hence no need going to the hospital, that would just be a total waste of money " I muttered turning towards the location of my room.

I didn't turn back to see if the boys followed me because I had a feeling that they would.

Entering into my room, I left the door open and headed to the bed which I settled into.

Blake entered but I didn't see Asher behind him.

I rose my brow in questioning and Blake just shrugged.

Immediately, Asher came in with a first aid box. Ohhh, I thought, he had gone to get a first aid box to treat my wounds.

"You should go have your bath first" Asher mumbled.

"Okay, okay" I replied, grabbing a huge shirt that I had brought with me and entering into the bathroom.

I tried to get the zipper, but it seemed stuck and my arms seemed strain so it wasn't easy at all.

I didn't realise when tears fell down my cheeks in frustration, my vision blurred and I hit my side, letting out an 'ouch'.

Immediately someone began to bang on the door. " Hey, Audrey, are you okay in there?"

I opened the door to see Asher looking frazzled and anxious, when he saw me, he gave me a glance over from my head to my feet. When he reached my face, he rose his eyebrows in question and his face softened even more.

"Were you crying Audrey?" Asher asked as I angrily wiped up the remaining tears from my face and shook my head.

"Are you okay".

I nodded in reply

"Then what happened".

" My zip is stuck" I muttered earning a chuckle from Asher

"And is that why you were crying, Audrey?"

Asher asked, his voice light but full of surprise .

"Are you gonna help me or not" I muttered, turning my back to him.

"Okay okay okay, don't get your panties in a twist. I will help you out" Asher replied

His hot breath fanned my neck as he shifted my hair over one shoulder, his finger brushing against my neck.

I stilled as he pulled against the zipper, pulling me closer to him that my body was moulded against his.

"The zipper is actually stuck" Asher murmured and I felt his breath on my neck tickling the hair at the nape of my neck.

He smelt like a man, after shave, spice ,musk and wood. He smelt very nice, I could get lost in his scent.

"Aren't you going to have you bath anymore" He asked and that was when I noticed that whilst I was lost in his scent and my thoughts, I had not realised when he had gotten the zipper free.

"Uhm, thanks" I muttered turning abruptly to face him.

Asher stared at me, his gaze meeting mine, I averted my gaze from his, feeling hot under his stare.

"Aren't you going to leave so I can have my bath", I replied back and he chuckled.

"Smart ass" he muttered and left the bathroom.

Shutting the door behind me, I leaned on it , catching my breath. I had no idea why Asher made me feel uneasy and safe. He made me want to trust him.

I ran the water and applied the bath wash that smelt like jasmines, I took my time on scrubbing, wincing at the pain.

I could barely wash my hair because of my strained have so I just put some shampoo on it and let the water wash it off.

Within ten minutes , I was done. I dried off and put on the shirt I had grabbed earlier. Having no strength to dry of my hair with the drier, I let it hang damp down to my waist.

Luckily I had the foresight to have brought something to wear, I couldn't imagine having to go face the guys in just towel. That might just be the cause of my death if that ever happens.

When I stepped into the room, they seemed to be in a heated conversation which they stopped abruptly when they saw me but not before I heard my name.

They looked like deers caught in a headlight

"Mmm" Asher cleared his throat sitting upright.

"I almost thought you had slept off in there or something" he continued and I rolled my eyes at his sacarstic comment.

Noticing what I was putting on, his gaze flitted from my face to my long toned bare legs. The shirt dropped mid thighs, hence my legs were exposed.

"Uhn, shouldn't you cover up or something" Asher said, clearing his throat again, his voice seeming unsure and nervous as he stuttered.

Was he nervous or was I misreading things? But what would make him nervous. Asher who was always confident and sure of himself , stuttering?

"Well, if I'm about to sleep, what's the point. This is what I wear to sleep" I said running my fingers through my hair.

My action bunched up my shirt a little higher and suddenly Asher started coughing.

"Uhm, are you okay?" I asked him.

Blake burst out laughing as Asher hurriedly excused himself muttering something about water and glass

"What is going on with him" I asked Blake as I settled into the bed.

"You"

"Me?" I asked in confusion. "What do you mean" I continued

"Don't worry, you will find out soon. It is not my place to say. Just take it easy on him" Blake chuckled as I shook my head in confusion.

I brought out my phone and saw that I had millions of message notifications .

I had some messages from Steph and Danny or should I say countless messages from them .

And it seemed that someone had added me to the school chat space.

Looking through the space, I saw mention of my name severally and alot of tags, apparently videos of the fight were posted previously but were brought down already.

Everyone was talking about the fight, I groaned.

"Reading that thing is just alot of punishment on yourself. Just ignore it" Blake said absent mindedly, flipping through a book.

"Easier said than done", I muttered as I kept scrolling.

I saw some messages from Blake asking me where I was, this was probably prior to the fight.

There were two other messages from unsaved numbers, one was marked Private.

The message in the other one was straight to the point.

"Meet me After school Hepburn"

That seemed like something Asher would send, very demanding and rude

I saved the number as Jerk and chuckled to myself

As I opened the other one, still wondering why the number was tagged as private , Asher stepped into the room and sat beside me, I looked up at him and he averted his gaze.

He is so weird , I thought as I opened the message.

Immediately I read the message I threw my phone to the ground and I screamed.
