A Chase between the Tiger and the Lion

As I breeze through the alleyways I hear footsteps behind me. I turn around and see Jasper running after me.

'He caught up to me huh...'

I picked up my pace and wasted no time as I cut through the alleys and the backways. This place is the best because of many alleyways and all routes connecting roads. But my main problem here is that Jasper also knows this place as best as I do so losing him would be hard this time around. 

'Right now the best place to hide is the casino. That also means I have to meet with Alex or at least he will be notified about my appearance here.huuu what a pain in the head.'

I take multiple turns and make my way to the center of the underground, the Dreamland Casino owned by the leader of the underground. 

Jas didn't fall behind in chasing me. As I cut through the small roads I noticed some boxes and clothings hanging above me so as a person who was using his resources well I made the nearby boxes fall and even used hanged clothings to block him but it was all futile as he just kept getting closer and closer. 

'Now I wonder why he was even trained by me....Dad should have known he was stronger than me...'

As I complained about a certain meat head in my head I managed to reach the casino without being captured. I fix my clothing and enter the high-fi place. 

The atmosphere inside was not like the outside, everything was shiny and luxurious. Like the king's own palace in comparison.

I didn't waste time as I walked through the casino. Jasper would not be able to enter because of his attire of full sleeves black turtleneck, black combat pants and boots with black robe. His sword give by your truly with him. 

I walked the hallways and found the kitchen. Everyone's eyes turned to me. 

"Sorry to intrude, I am just passing by. Can anyone tell me where that exit to the outside is?"

A confused chef raised his hands and pointed to the right. 

"Thank you so much, have a great day."

I follow the direction and see a door. I walked out and reached a hallway that had all sorts of boxes and stuff. It was probably a store yard. I look around and find the exit door. At this point I was sprinting again. While running I picked up an empty box.

I opened the door and threw the box out. In an instant the box was cut. I ran out and turned left and started running in the alleyways again. All these years spent together we would know all of each other. 

'Jas expected it. And we are back to chasing and running.'

I took a lot of turns but halfway through I stopped hearing footsteps behind me. I stop dead in my tracks and look behind. There was no one. I look around frantically but find no signs of him. 

'Did I lose him?..no...'

I cautiously moved forward to the exit that comes out in Rexa. But it was a mistake on my side, as I got shoved to the ground with a hand on my neck. Jas had grabbed my collar and pulled me down.

'He came out of nowhere. No, he probably changed routes and waited for me at the intersection.'

"Finally...caught you."

"ugh..." I tried to speak but his hands were on my neck which were just a little too tight for that. I could breathe but couldn't speak. I used my hands to move his hands but that was useless. He and I both were catching our breaths but on my side it was quite difficult. 

'He is going to strangle me to unconsciousness.' 

I patted his hands to announce my defeat but he did not budge. I moved around and finally grabbed some soil in my hands and threw it at him. He got caught off guard and released me. I moved quickly and rolled away from him. I tried to get up and run but he caught my ankle and I fell face first down again. I kicked him on the face instinctively. My leg on his face and him grabbing my ankle as I stare at him. 

I laughed. "hahahah so sorry Jas this is just so funny."

He moved my leg out of his face and pulled me under him again. 

"Is it really that funny?"

I continued laughing with tears starting to form in my eyes. I wiped the tears and looked up at Jas. He looked at me and then smiled at me. He got off me and laid beside me. We were in a dirty alleyway and completely covered in dirt. 

'And I just changed my clothes.'

"So how is everything? I hear you contacted everyone."

"Ya I had to explain myself or no one would believe me."

"So did anyone believe you? Wait before that what did you even explain. How did you reason my murder."

"About that I just said that it was your wish. You were tired and didn't want to continue and moved the plan to the end. And surprisingly no one believed me."

Jas turned to me and continued "everyone has so much of everything on you that they would go to the end of hell to get you back." 

I sigh "now what? Are you going to let me go back?"

"You know that wont work."

"I am going to use this situation to get an upper hand in everything again. Now don't get in my way."

I sit up and so does Jasper. He was frowning.

"You don't have power over me."

"You sure about that."

I grabbed his hands and I used my magic. He did not oppose. 

"See you cant even try to get away from me even though you don't know what is about to happen."

"I suppose I trust you enough to know you won't put me in danger yourself." He smirked.

"I guess that's true."

My mana completely covered us. In a blink of light Jasper was gone from my eyes and I had entered the city of Rexa near the Magic tower. 

"Let's see how fast you can get from the Ice palace to here Jasper." I say that to myself and walk towards the magic tower.
