AvC : Blood Awakens

The boy's eyes flashed a murderous glint. He just needed one alive Avian. He was about to pierce his sharp spear to little Al's chest when Liam moved and blocked his way. She was unexpectedly agile, courtesy of the Avian blood that ran through her.

Through instinct, she used the dried branch to parry off the spear.

She successfully fended it off though the dried branch broke in the process.

The boy was stunned at Liam's interruption. It was a good thing that the little Avian was using a fragile weapon. But he was agile too. He attacked once more. He needed to kill one of them before the other Avian noticed the fight here. So instead of attacking little Al, he attacked Liam who was nearer to him.

The spear was once more brandished. Its sharp edge tried to stab Liam.

Liam hadn't recovered from her shock that the mammal she was expecting was a little boy instead. But her reflexes were quick. She jumped far away from him, dragging little Al in the process.
