Chapter 38: Still went to shit

The plan was simple the train pulls up next to some walkways leading to the crane and the boiler room, where we will then disembark with us leaving sukari and takumi and some guards at the crane while me, ikoma and mumei followed by a few soldier will take a small side entrance Into the boiler room.

But sadly that's where everything went to shit as not even a moment after entering the boiler room and spotting a few kabane that things went down hill thanks to mumei who fired her gun at the kabane causing a domino effect as every kabane in the area came rushing in there direction.

"IKOMA FLIP THE SWITCH EVERYONE ELSE GET READY TO RUN!" My voice was booming as everyone shot I to action the soldier retreating to the small side entrance we used to get here, while ikoma rushed quickly flipped the lever causing the machine to him to life as he soon followed the soldiers out the door sadly I was not able to follow as I watched mumei still both her guns in her hands as she stood in front of the doors where I could hear dozens of footsteps.

"Mumei let's fucking go!" I said quickly approaching mumei as I rested my hand on her shoulder but it was soon smacked away as she have me look that was not to different from that of someone looking at trash.

"Run away you spinless coward." Her voice was disturbingly flat as she began to walk away much to my annoyance as I took my spear hanging from my back ready to join her in combat, but it was at this moment ikoma came rushing back more than likely realizing that me and mumei had not followed the group.

"What are you doing we need to run!" His voice was urgent but all I could do was point my spear towards mumei as I spoke my voice clearly a bit frustrated.

"This moron want to die fighting kabane" to be enough for ikoma to understand as he soon went to try and convince mumei only to fail just the same.

'If I didn't know she was stronger then me I would drag her back' That all I could think as the horde of kabane came into view but none of them panicked.

"Hup!" Suddenly mumei threw out multiple small bags in front of the horde of kabane which she followed up by shooting said bags causing massive explosion that killed many kabane while leaving many others disabled.

It was at this moment that we moved in as we began to clean up any and all the kabane that were downed which was quite easy as I fell into routine.

But that all changed as what I would like to call the demi-wastori entered the fray. They were basically kabane who were armed with weapons but lacked the weird growth other wastori had and we're still able to perform basic techniques but that didn't make them that much less dangerous as 15 of them came running at us 4 of them heading my way and 2 to ikoma with the bulk of them going after mumei as she was the closest to them, but I had no time to worry about her as the first demi wastori came rushing at me.

I blocked deflected his attack by knocking it to the side with my spear as I delivered a devasting attack that sent it flying back into two of the four as I then ducked down bending my legs fully as I barely dodging the slice from a demi wastori which weilded two spears as I then pulled back my spear and jabbed it forward fully drivingy spear through its chest which allowed me to gain the leverage to throw it over the railing of the walkway we were fighting on.

'one down' that's all I thought as I looked over at the other demi wastori who already go up and we're rushing over to me, as I quickly got ready to recieve them.

Once they got in range of my spear I immediately struck out but surprisingly the one I attacked blocked it, but I didnt hesitate to try again as I took a step back and twirled the spear as I smacked it into another causing it to get knocked over as it fell and went skating past me.

Soon after I entered into the attack range of the other two who I dealt with by deflecting the both their attacks as I followed up by using my spear to stab throw the head of one but before it could collpase to ground I grabbed it's arm and quickly pushed it into the other causing it and it's friends to fall on top of each other as I then used my spear to finish them off by activating the piercing function of my spear which I rested above the heart of the two downed demi wastori instantly killing them as I moved on to the other which had already got up but due to it being alone it was simply knocked over the railing like the first one.

'I should have just used my guns' That's all Owen could think but not wanting to waste time he quickly went to help the struggling ikoma to deal with his opponents.

"*PANT* Thanks" that's all the exhausted ikoma could say as we both soonlooked over to mumei who was sitting in a pile of corpses having been watching our fights with the demi wastori.

"WHAT IS WRO-*RUMBLE*" Ikoma angry voice was about to speak, but loud rumble suddenly shook the area they were in causing them to look at each other they all went rushing out and what they saw left them slightly stunned as the previously deserted surrounding was now swarming with kabane, but we were not worried about ourselves as we looked over to the crane to see everyone running away to the train as their chased by kabane who crawledout from everywhere.

"WE MOVED THE DEBRIS OFF THE TRACK QUICKLY RUN TO THE TRAIN" suddenly we heard sukari shout our direction causing us to run down the walkway occasionally knocking any and all attacking kabane away as we ran sadly right when we were about to reach the train something large came flying in our direction as it smashed the walkaway Infront of us stopping us from progressing any further.

"Shit we have to use the side entrance" that's all Owen said as the 3 of them turned around and began to run back this time even more urgently.
