The Sound Of Silence

Mabel was running desperately looking for a way out. In her path there was only chaos and destruction. Half-eaten corpses littered the hallway floors. She came to the lobby in a dire state; she could barely breathe and crouched on her knees to catch air. Screams of horror could not stop being heard both inside and outside the mansion and it generated panic.

She suddenly heard the sound of an animal feeding. In terror, she turns her gaze to find the housekeeper Rosetta on the cook. She was dismembering him to devour him.

The rays and lightning illuminated the room; this made the woman realize the presence of Mabel. The blood-soaked woman turns her head fully to meet the intruder's glances and begins to slowly approach until she stops about 5 meters from Mabel.

-It's all because of you, little bastard. If only you hadn't gotten sick, no one would have noticed. I better finish what we came to do after taking care of you-

Mabel knew the name of the creature and between her stuttering mixed with fear, she made herself understand the enemy who looked very angry at having been discovered.

Rosetta finished her sentence and immediately began to convulse. Her skin began to fall and the bones of her ribs were expelled to the outside to grow to form sharp spikes, her teeth and tongue grew, she also had more skeletal arms and legs, to finish turning her whole body 180 ° giving the image of an insectoid. Her head spread out like a serrated tail and her stomach split in two from which sprouted another head identical to her tail.

The creature was hungry and its food stood still from the terror that her presence induced. She lunged at Mabel and grabbed her neck with her tail. Mabel was suffocating, she was afraid and she began to cry for her cruel fate. Any kind of death was more pleasant than dying at the hands of that creature. Rosetta was about to rip Mabel's head off with her mouth when a shot hit one of her legs, causing her to release Mabel who fell to the ground with a crash, knocking herself unconscious.

-Don't you dare touch the lady, spawn of the abyss- Leticia fires again and again until she runs out of ammunition

Taking advantage of the moment when the creature was regenerating, Leticia runs towards Mabel and carries her in her arms to flee the enclosure but it is too late, just at the moment when they were going to cross the door the creature jumps in front of them.

The raid would be taking place around midnight. The marquis and his people were waiting for the signal to enter the servants' quarters and begin the inspections and apprehension of the criminals. Everything was going well, but the next moment everything went relatively to shit. It turned out that the enemy already knew about the actions of the Marquis's people and when they were about to cross the gates, several of the knights began to attack their companions. Not only that, he also started a simultaneous attack on the city.

For the Marquis Lennox, the infiltrators were part of his trusted people, the citizens and the servants. Virtually everyone was against him. The few men he had left were fighting with those he once considered friends, family, and comrades. The enemy would jump on them and the unlucky ones would end up being dismembered and eaten. The horror was not only set in the marquisate, but also in neighboring counties and duchies causing everyone to run for their lives.

The marquis was pissed off and feared that he had left his children alone. He tried to get to the mansion as soon as possible. Between bullets, knives and spiritual attacks it was almost impossible to advance, at every step a new enemy emerged.

Seth's nanny had taken him while he slept, to the shelter and they were safe when the disaster started. They hoped that this slaughter would end soon but Seth woke up and asked for Mabel and the babysitter only replied that she was no longer in her bedroom when she went to look for her and possibly she was already dead, that they should stay there to wait for her salvation .

An enraged Seth slaps his babysitter. He knelt on the ground, began to cry and blame himself for not being able to help his family. He only had to wait for the arrival of his father.

Quentin constantly looked at the bracelet he was wearing. It was a contraption that he received from the temple in the shape of a moon and a star to mark the lives of his children with glitter. He knew they were safe because the light was still shining so he hastened the march to the mansion. The scandal in the rain continued at a frantic pace for half the country. The marquis reached the main entrance stairs together with the surviving men and they spotted a creature at the entrance preventing Leticia from leaving, who was carrying Mabel in her arms.

They shot the creature and it turned to attack them first. She saw fit to take care of the trifles and then go for the main course. Leticia was coming down the stairs and the creature followed her again to prevent her from escaping. Leticia wanted to run and ended up tripping on the wet step causing the girl in her arms to fall to one side.

She got back to her feet and pounced on the girl so that she would not be taken by the ferocious beast. Between sobs, she hugged Mabel and told her that everything was going to be fine while Leticia's spirit protected them. The marquis and his men continued firing and attacking but were in a fatal state and many of them had given up due to pain, lack of mana or lack of ammunition.

Mabel woke up and everything around her was chaos. She looked at Leticia crying and hugging her tightly. All seemed lost, and the creature had thrown the survivors of the battle away to eat its prey. She landed on Leticia and Mabel and a spike was directed at both but was stopped by a blue shield.

The people who watched the confrontation thought that this would be the end of both, but they would witness something so great and wonderful that just having it would be equivalent to generating a war. Mabel pulled away from Leticia and stood to face the beast. A soft blue light covered her body making the creature shudder.

-Noooo!!!! You cannot be here; they are supposed to no longer exist!!! - The creature gave a deafening scream

-Silence, the girl sleeps- an overlapping and calm voice echoed in the place making everyone present aware of what was to come.

Mabel changed her appearance to that of a multicolored and luminous being, she gestured with her fingers for the creature to shut up and the light that covered it became too blinding to then launch itself on them in an explosion of a shock wave that covered the entire country.

The people and creatures that were attacking ended up being disintegrated by the light that moved spreading everywhere. For the people who fought, just being hit by the light caused any curse, illness or injury to miraculously heal and they attributed it to the power of a god. It even made the rain stop and you could admire the sunrise. The creature that attacked Mabel and company disintegrated as if it had never existed.

Mabel was still standing staring into space. A deep silence was present when she returned to normality. Her hair had grown several feet and turned white. Leticia approached only for Mabel to end up falling unconscious in her arms.
