"This man is a murderer who killed his own kin...", Megumu and Shuu lost their parents after this apocalypse. But being children of a good family with famous background, and also being sheltered from the bloody world outside all their lives, they grew up without knowing the cruelty of this world and were quite ignorant about the laws, though this sudden apocalypse changed their views slightly and they knew the world was a dangerous place, but because they had the other with them, they still survived with comfort from their mates... for better or for worse, they haven't faced the darkness beyond the light so, they were quite gullible.

Ryuuichi's face hardened and his clenched his fist... the aura around him turned a bit murderous and made the two flinch, but this was actually him being nervous... he by no means wanted to threaten anyone... he has been a gentle but silent kid from the beginning and it was only his sister who never forced him to describe and say out loud what he felt... but once she died, there has been no one in this world forsaken by gods themselves to understand him... he was really left alone and maybe it was his defense mechanism working, but as years passed by and he faced stronger opponents, he just gave up on explaining himself, something that his sister had wanted him to try because this world was unforgiving to those who didn't go according to their ways... because she was dying, she couldn't be beside him anymore and he needed to be with someone to continue living... but in the end, he wasn't able to find that someone he could believe in and stay with so, he just gave up on explaining anything and everything... to him the world had ended with his sister...

But he didn't die and at the time, after 4 long years, when he was unable to change the views people had for him, not that he wanted to, he finally found a person... he wanted to share his time with, but Karma was gain playing with him...

As he delved deeper into his thoughts and his pressure increased with his soul force starting to tremble, unknowingly he had entered his inner realm and was watching the huge mess with his own eyes...

He may have been unconscious a while ago, but because this place was himself as a whole, he knew that Yuki had helped him, again... so, the moment he opened his eyes and saw her pale face, he was worried beyond heavens... he had just learnt that she gave away her life to save people and even though this world in this state, he didn't want to do the same thing here.. especially for a person like himself...

Now, when he saw a similar view again, he was finally aware enough to know that this was heavily impacted by his physical and mental condition; back then his body was in a mess and now, it is his mind... he was more affected than he thought, his core was chaotic... but he also felt a certain warmth when he saw it this time... he fortified his senses for a bit, only to find that... her energy was surrounding his own, because their forces are very similar in strength, he wasn't able to distinguish them, but he could feel it.. it was really her.... she was protecting him.

"I'm sorry for your loss..."

It was Yuki's straight forward condolences that brought him back from his reverie and he was quite shocked, he would have never expected, even if given a 100 lives, that she would say this first... as it seems, no one has actually said this to him... he could feel that chaotic world inside him calm down in a second... she was affecting her way more than he thought.

"But--", Megumu wanted to speak but Yuki stopped him with a hand gesture.

"It would be unfair to him if I only listen to you and since you saved him and didn't know his name... this is your first time meeting him, right? How did you know about his past and are so sure of it?", Yuki had seen too much of this world and after leaving for a long period of time and that too in a job like hers, where at times, you had to leave your back to your comrades to protect, she had a knack to see the type of person one was and to her, this man who could save her life without any reason and had fought to death for her, was now a similar existence, at least in this life, she could put her faith on someone... that will be him.

Megumu and Shuu, who has been silently supporting his mates sentiments, turned silent... her cold and logical reasoning was enough to slap them with the reality of many things.

' Why did we do that..?', this thought overwhelmed them...

Yuki has gone through a similar experience where without her knowing, her fate was already described and became reality... she had an unsettling feeling for a while now.

She has been asking herself, why couldn't people see something, even though it was just in front of their eyes; in her first life, it was the jarring fact that Oriole was the one who interfered in her engagement and got himself pregnant even when they were engaged, the adultery was done by the Emperor, but everyone chose to overlook it and only saw the future of the empire growing inside Oriole and even outside her life, the belief of killing zergs was etched into their heart and no one tried to find the truth, even she was one among them!!

As Yuki Winterdale, it was the same for everyone when it came to magic; if she hadn't known it from her previous life, just from what she read as a child, she would be brainwashed too.

It was clear that the people in that world had accepted the concept of magic without knowing how it came to, which led to the fundamental error in thought that, Betas can't possess magic, even when she was able to!

After she went out that day to get food in this world and guessed that the apocalypse probably happened around 5-6 years ago... she had an unsettling feeling.

The first job of the military was to create bases to protect the citizens in such unforeseen cases, but considering the man beside her was roaming around like this, and him being without a place to stay even with that tremendous power, she made a faint guess... which was just proven.

Whatever the case may be and even if it sounds like a small issue of 'bad rumour', just the fact that people have just come to hate a person just from a rumour was questionable... this was the apocalypse, this was the period when man started to question his relationships and their values... she never even thought that this tainted world was pure...

Human, no matter what class and background have always been rather selfish, there is no way someone hasn't sacrificed another to live in this sort of world! Though Yuki had chosen the path to protect, it didn't mean that she was ignorant of this world's system... protecting these people was indeed her choice, but... in a roundabout way, that choice was forced on her.
