Chapter 2

"Master is back, Master is back" The maid's announcement could be heard everywhere in the first residence of the Lin manor as a luxuriously decorated carriage stopped in front of Fairy courtyard.

A man who looked to be in his early twenties stepped out of the carriage, he was dressed simply yet it didn't affect his out-of-the-world look, and the elegance and arrogance his body emitted can't be hidden.

The man is Lin Weidong, popularly known as General Lin, a beginner-stage spiritual lord cultivator with a bone age of seventy and also the husband of Xie Mingzhu. He is also the head of the first branch of the Lin Manor, one of the noblest families in the capital.

Maids hurriedly bowed the moment he passed by them to which he didn't bother to acknowledge as strode into his wife's room.

The maids attending to his wife who saw him hurriedly bow their heads and retreat from the room.

"Zhu'er" Lin Weidong stared at Xie Mingzhu who was sitting on the bed, looking at a scroll in her hand.

Xie Mingzhu's movement stiffened slightly when she heard the man's choked voice and she slowly turn her around.

The husband and wife stare at each other and seem lost in each other's gaze.

The mighty General Lin that is only second to the Emperor quickly strode forward with his long legs and with his gaze never leaving the beautiful woman's, he stopped when he reached her and instantly pull her into his embrace.

He closed his eyes and inhaled her floral scent that he miss so much since eight months ago when he was at the border.

"Mom, is this my daddy?" a childish voice suddenly rang out.

"Who...who is there?" Lin Weidong released his wife from his embrace and hide her behind him, and then released the powerful aura of the Lord's level, ready to deal with the intruder that disrupt his welcoming hug.

"Who the hell are you? get out!" His Qi bursts out and dragged Lin Yue who was hiding under the blanket and was being fed dog food earlier into midair.

"....." The pitiful Lin Yue that didn't know what she has done wrong.

"....." Xie Mingzhu who didn't expect her husband to mistake his child for an intruder.

"What?" Lin Weidong blinked in disbelief as he stare at the baby in midair, who was looking at him with her head tilted in confusion.

"Mother..." Lin Yue whimpers pitifully as she stares at her mother.

Xie Mingzhu kicked her husband's knee and instantly carried her child that was in midair into her arm.

"Sorry baby" Her mother glared at her father who has a stunned expression on his handsome face.

"Is this our daughter?". Lin Weidong gulped in disbelief, looking at the silver hair baby that seems to understand everything he was saying. No, not only that, she even talked earlier.

"She looks like she is two years old already, she can even talk?". Lin Weidong was in disbelief as he moved closer to the mother and daughter and look at his first daughter emotionally.

He didn't feel anything was strange, even if his daughter has hair full of rainbow colors.

"You've done a good job, wife" He felt a lump in his throat as he stretched forward his hand to his daughter so that he can carry her.

Lin Yue looked at her mother first and after she saw her nod, she stepped into her father's embrace.

"Hahaha, I, Lin Weidong, have now become a father" Lin Weidong's happy laughter rang out loud in the entire Fairy courtyard as he look at the girl in his arm dotingly.

After calming down the many emotions he felt, he sat on the chair without letting the baby go.

"Why did she look like she is two years old?" He asked with a small frown.

"I also didn't know, I only realize that she was growing in her sleep and was as surprised as you" explained Xie Mingzhu, sitting beside her husband and remembering the disbelief she felt when she saw that the small newborn now look like a toddler.

"And there is nothing like her case in history, also she sleeps more than the kid her age as she uses twenty hours to sleep and I suspect that it was because of the empowering from the silver object" added Xie Mingzhu in a soft tone.

Knowing well that her dear husband must have known of the strange phenomenon that happened when the child was born.

"I will find out about that later but why didn't you inform me that you're pregnant?"

Staring at the floor as she felt her husband's gaze on her, Lin Yue explained.

"As you know, guarding the border is important and I don't want you to have your attention divided into two"

"Still, you should have sent a messenger bird 🐦 to relay the message to me"

'So my father is the general of Blue Moon Country and seems like he rarely comes home too' Lin Yue looked at her father and she wondered in her heart if all the people from this world were as good-looking as her parents.

"What is her name?," Lin Weidong asked, observing the beautiful baby in his arm.

"I am thinking of naming her Yue since the light that appeared when she was born was like a second moon in the sky" Xie Mingzhu replied.

'Then I am still Lin Yue. Was I the Moon in one of my past lives' Lin Yue thought and of course, she loved a simple name like Moon so she smiled brightly at her mother.

"Mom's voice is so good that I felt like a god was calling my name"

"She is so cheeky" commented Lin Weidong with a big smile, trying not to pinch the girl's cheek that was as soft as a dough.

"I took after my mom" replied the little Lin Yue.

"But your mother is so cold to people"

"That's it, I am cold to people too"

"Hahahaha, see, you don't have to take after your mother, just take after me"

"No no no, I don't want to throw my child into midair when we met for the first time"

"Are you still angry at Dad?"

"Nah, this daughter didn't dare to, who knows if I met ended up in the street"

Xie Mingzhu has a smile plastered on her face as she looked at the father and daughter who are chatting with happily each other, but who would have thought that Lin Weidong would be suddenly invited into the palace?

"This General thanked his majesty" Saying this, Lin Weidong took a seat.

"I have heard about your newborn daughter, this emperor congratulated you and the Lin household"

Lin Weidong smiled stiffly at the emperor.

"Ha, You and Lady Xie have done a very good job of producing a genius like the little kid, having her around will surely make our empire on par with Red Moon Empire". stated Emperor Wu.

There are four continents in total, and one of them is the Bright Moon continent which has four countries and they are, Bright Moon Country, Blue Moon Country, Red Moon Country, and Yellow Moon Country with Bright Moon Country as the head and the other as its subsidiaries.

The Blue Moon Country is however the weakest of all the countries though it is almost on par with Red Moon Country.

Lin Weidong smiled and nodded at the Emperor in support of his words. "This General will surely nurture Lin Yue very well"

The emperor's cold face finally revealed a hint of a smile. "She and that son of mine are really compatible, a genius plus a genius is another super genius".

Lin Weidong coughed and cautiously said, "The kids are still too young, Your Majesty"

Of course, he could understand what Emperor Wu meant, the Emperor wanted to betroth the fifth prince to his daughter.

The Emperor's expression didn't change at all when he saw that Lin Weidong did not take the bait but if one were to look into his eyes carefully, one would see the coldness that just flashed by.
