Just Who Did I Offend?

Linri was trying to keep himself awake. He had not slept for the whole night so he knew that he was probably not thinking rationally. It was alright there was no guarantee that he could affect the world just by writing on paper. Still he needed to make that the stuff he wrote was not the reality, however, he did not know how to check something like that.

Thinking about it what he did was extremely dumb. He knew that he could not just go up and ask his mother since it was not the time yet and he was trying to keep everything as similar to the game as possible. After all, everything concerning Lyra concerned Linri's life in a literal sense. His current situation was akin to falling down a cliff, either everything goes the same and he survives or he splashes on to the ground and dies.

Looking at the story in front of him Linri still could not keep his urges. He wanted to know No, he NEEDED to know. Then how was he going to go around and ask Lyra? He kept coming back to this question and he knew the answer he cannot ask Lyra. Then again he wanted to know if it was true. Was there really no way to solve this conundrum?

Linri checked the time, it was almost time for breakfast. He got up from his chair and took a shower. By the time he dried his hair, it was already time for breakfast.

While sitting at the table Linri was eating his toast with marmite on top and looking at Lyra intensely. Of course, being the attending person she was Lyra caught up on it. Actually, there was nothing to pick up as Linri was so into his thoughts that he did not even hide the fact that he was looking at her, any random person could arrive that conclusion.

"What?" Lyra eventually asked Linri. Of course, hearing his name Linri finally pried himself away from his thoughts and arrived at the reality.

"Hm?" Linri looked like confused as he really was confused and this was no acting.

"She is asking why you were looking at her so intensely. Don't tell me you have awakened to being a mothercon and fell in love with her?" Upon Jaime's last remark the table came to an abrupt silence. Arkady was looking like he could not comprehend the question while Lyra seemed like she could not believe what she heard. Linri, however, looked at Jaime with disdain.

"Don't even joke about it. You almost made me throw up. By the way, it seems like you became too comfortable living here, might I kindly remind you that you are a guest here and can be kicked out at any moment?" Linri did not back down and threatened Jaime with kicking her out and this only made her laugh.

"Haha, we both know that your heart is too soft and you can not bear to throw me out." Then she winked at him suggestively.

"Linri dear don't change the subject. Is there something you want to tell me?" Seeing that it was all a joke Lyra breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that there were some messed up families where the son was in love with his mother. Being the beautiful and confident woman she was for a split second there she had assumed the worst. After all, teenagers tended to be unpredictable and they were just awakening into their sexuality. It wouldn't be strange that they might confuse their familial love with the other kind. All in all, she was happy that she did not have to have some kind of awkward conversation with her son.

"No nothing. I was just wondering how could you know such a perverted person?" Linri initially did not plan on asking anything and asked about Richard to change the subject. Then he remembered that Richard was mentioned in his story so could he get the answers he was seeking for in here? The answer was no. Talking about Richard meant talking about magic and talking about magic was a no go.

"Perverted? You mean Richard? Tell me did he do something to you!" Lyra became visibly agitated. She was furious but why though? As long as Linri remembered Richard was only interested in beautiful women. It's not like he was one... WAIT!! Don't tell me there was a phase he was interested in boys as well!!!! At the thought of this Linri shivered intensely and worried about his chastity.

"If he did something I will rip his bloody head off!" Arkady also joined in the rage as well. Really people what the hell Richard did to you? Thinking about their weird out of nowhere rage Linri gulped unconsciously and offered a prayer for the poor guy. To be honest, Linri would not be as relaxed as this if he knew what Richard did but as they always say 'Sometimes ignorance is bliss'.

"Woah there! He did nothing.... to me at least but he was asking for her photo... in a bikini... for his private collection." Linri was talking while pointing at Jaime and he could see that with his every word his parents' rage was growing even more.

At the other side of the world, Richard started sweating coldly out of nowhere. As a magician that lived for centuries his sixth sense was highly sensitive and he knew that someone was thinking about killing him, someone very strong and dangerous. The problem was he did not know who it was that he offended. He decided that it was time to call it a day and excused himself to his bedroom and locked the door. That night he had countless nightmares.

Back at the breakfast table the Jaime was eating her food quietly and looking at the Harclaw family antics. Life was really not boring around them. Thinking about that she could not help but miss her own family and a nostalgic look appeared on her face. Lyra and Arkady took this as a sign that she was feeling sad over what happened with Richard and this strengthened their drive to teach that idiot old man a lesson.

"Don't worry sweetheart he can't do anything. Don't believe that pervert's threats he can't do anything to you. We will teach him a lesson and he will never mess around with you. If he does just give us a call and we will teach him again one more time." Lyra was trying to comfort Jaime and Arkady was cracking his knuckles. Linri did not remember his parents this much agitated since like.... forever. He could not help but think just what the hell Richard do in the past. How could someone generate this much hatred? In gaming terms, Richard just taunted his whole family and he was not even here. His name was enough to taunt all the monsters nearby.

"Thank you Ms Harclaw. I will be sure to give you a call." Jaime said while smiling. It was as if flowers bloomed on her fair face. She was not even faking it this was a genuine smile because the situation was too funny. She could not help but give Linri a look since she knew that he was the whole reason this mess started in the first place and she founded it funny how easily he diverted this storm away from himself to some poor soul at the other end of the earth.

After breakfast Linri trained with Arkady as usual. However today he kept making mistakes as he was worried about what he wrote while also being tired so he kept getting beaten up by Arkady's branch. At this point, Linri was not even bothered by the pain as he had it much worse at the temple and these were like mosquito bites at best. Still, he acted like it hurt because you know who would want to up the bar if he could have it easy?

When the training was over Linri was so tired that he could barely stand. He made up his mind to sleep after taking a shower. That was when he saw Jaime training with her wooden sword. She was graceful and beautiful. He watched her for a while when an idea suddenly came to his mind. Maybe she could help him with his problem.
