Ch.45 Our hero

I am grateful that I am at least on the playing field with Josei. Although I was prepared to let her go, now I'm elated that I might not have to. However, I still have many problems to solve. I still have to deal with Ted, Malivore, and all the attached drama with them.

I can still deal with Ted on my own. It won't be a problem. The main issue that I have is with Malivore. Even though I can end him or rather it.

There is a possibility that its physical body remains intact and could be used. Hope can only deal with him if her role as the Tribrid is confirmed.

We were downstairs having breakfast. I was reading the news and Hope said "You done?"

I folded the paper and said, "Yeah, I am done."

She picked up her bag and looked around me and asked "Where is your bag?"

I sighed and said, "I don't need one because I am not going to school."

She looked at me and was confused and she sat down and said "Come on why?"

I chuckled and said, "Because I don't have to."

She then looked at me and she said "So what about Josie and all the other friends?"

I said, "Well, I can hang around with you guys and for that, I don't need to attend the school I can just be there."

She asked, "What are you going to do when I am at school then?"

I said, "I don't know, hang around the bar and drink with people... who knows."

She looked at me and said, "Who are you going to drink with in the middle of the day?"

I shrugged my shoulders and said "It's gotta be happy hour somewhere and I have my dad anyway so. I will be kept busy, you don't have to worry."

She pouted and said "Fine... at least come to drop me off?"

I looked at her and said, "Of course my lady."

I then got up and opened a portal and we walked through the portal. Some students were baffled at seeing my portal, I guess they are getting used to it at first they thought that it was some sort of invasion or something.

I said, "Let's get you to the principal's office." We were walking hand in hand. We reached the office and we saw Josie in and Caroline said "Oh, you two are her. Come sit I was just giving a rundown of extra classes and curriculum that you guys will have to follow."

I smiled and said "I hate to interrupt you. But I am only here to drop Hope. I will not be coming to classes."

Josie was a little upset it could be seen on her face. Caroline then asked, "Are you leaving Mystic Falls?"

I chuckled and said "No, I am not planning to leave this town. I am just not coming to this school for classes. I would still be here if you need me."

Caroline then said "If you don't mind can you wait for like 15 min. I would like to talk to you."

I nodded and said "Sure."

Hope then went ahead and took a seat and I just wandered the premises around and I could see banners of Landon and some chick beside him. I asked a nearby guy "Hey, can I ask what is this here for?"

The guy scoffed and said "That is so that we can appreciate and celebrate our hero who saved us from Malivore. What a bunch of bulls."

I asked, "And who is that chick beside him?"

He said "That's Tina Landon's girlfriend. She is the one who passed this idea."

I chuckled and said, "Landon has surely changed a lot."

He said, "You bet... everything went downhill after Josie Saltzman went crazy. Lizzie got busy finding his sister; she gave up the post and Tina took it. She is the reason that he has changed so much."

This is certainly interesting. I certainly look forward to meeting Lanon and his new girlfriend. He then asked, "You look familiar, do I know you?"

I smiled and said "Lucas Morningstar-Clarke." He looked at me and he kinda got who I was and he stuttered and said "I... I have classes so I need to go."

I nodded and he went away. Looks like I have gotten quite famous around here or infamous. I waited around and they were finally out. Josie looked at me and said "Good morning."

I said "Good morning."

She then said "We have classes and Mom. Ah, Principal is calling you."

I nodded and She said, "I guess I'll see you around?"

I smiled and said "Absolutely."

Hope and Josie then went along and I took a sigh of relief at least they are getting along. I guess, we'll see more in the future how it all turns out. I then walked into the principal's office.

She smiled and said, "Take a seat, Lucas."

I sat down and she said, "I kinda get that after all the stuff you have done. Going to school can be a little pointless for you. But you can see this as an opportunity to get back to normal. "

I smiled and said, "While I do want things to go back to normal. I can't see myself attending classes and doing homework and assignments."

She sighed and said, "Fine, I get that after a thousand years no one would want to attend a school but at least stay here."

I got up and said, "Yeah, absolutely and there is still some stuff that needs to be taken care of, and like you said. I do want things to go back to normal."

She then said, "Your room is ready. You can move in already."

I smiled and said, "Thank you." I was walking away and then I remembered and threw her the keys and she caught them and I said: "Almost forgot to return these."

She said, "You can still sit in class if you want to..."

I smiled and said "I'll think about it."

I mostly spent time watching Tv and surfing the web until it was lunchtime and I went down to the cafeteria and the majority of the seats were full except for the one where I used to sit. I got some stuff and sat down to eat and someone tapped on my shoulders. It was Ralph.

I asked "Here to scold me again?"

He sat down and said "Nah, I am done with telling people what to do." I guess Landon has gotten on his nerves. He then looked at me and asked "I am confused like you are here but I didn't see you in any classes… what is up with that?"

I said "Well, I am not attending this school per say I am just here."

He then asked "So they are letting you stay here just like that?"

I said "Yeah, pretty much."

He shrugged his shoulders and we were eating. Then I spotted Landon and his group and I asked "I heard that he is heralded as a hero or something."

He scoffed and said "I mean we know that it was Hope but they have done a great job in manipulating the students."

I chuckled and said "I never imagined Landodn playing politics… this place really went to shit."

I then saw that Hope and Josie entered the cafeteria and everyone was a bit silent and Landon went to talk to Hope and Tina went after him. Ralf asked "You seem a lot calm. Aren't you worried?"

I asked "About what?"

He looked at me and said "Hope used to have something for Landon and you know now that the memories are back."

I cut him off and I said "She had already rejected him. If you look at him, he is the one who is desperate, not Hope and I trust her and I am not going to be insecure like landon."

We then saw Hope dodging Landon and they were coming to sit here and they both sat next to me and Raph chuckled a little and I asked "So how was class?"

Hope said "Kinda sucky."

Josie said "Same."

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Don't worry everything will get better with time."

Ralph said "You know I also thought that for you and your bad jokes."

They laughed a little and I said "Hey I have good jokes."

Ralph said "You have dad jokes."

I looked at her and said "So, they are good."

Ralph said "To prof. Saltzman maybe."

They were laughing and then someone came to our table and it was MG and Lizzie and they both sat down. Josie looked at Lizzie and Lizzie said "I am not going to create a scene, so calm down."

Lizzie had a big wide grin on her face and she said "I am throwing a welcome back party! For my sister, Hope and you." She had a very condescending tone when she mentioned me. Josie looked at her and she said "The party will be tomorrow at the pier at 8 and all of you have to come…" She then looked at me and she said "Well, maybe you can stay."

Josie looked at her and she said "What I am just joking… mostly."

I smiled and said "I'll be there."

She smiled and said "Fantastic."
