Fellow drifter

"Purple rain~ purple rain..." She sang to herself as she sat doing her makeup and waiting for her hair to dry.

The idea for her song came from her hair color now, purple, its something Bella came to adapt to, after every full moon she colors her hair differently, this time she decided for the odd one.

She had two boxes of dye left, and needed to get some more soon, but for now it was peace and quiet, sitting at a spring where the water made a small fall, the ice hanging over the clear liquid like a blanket.

She sighed admiring it, then turned back to the mirror of her bike to color her white eyebrows in black, it was an act all the way, makeup to hide her face, her white hair gets colored... She was a fake as a human, and a target as a wolf.

Food, hair dye, a med kit and a thousand bucks, that was her inventory, she dabbed the wounds on her shoulder and winced, that old man with his shotgun had good aim, good thing he didn't use a slug, the buckshot stings but doesn't tare away at the limb like that massive piece of lead.

After her hair dried she flung it forward and back shuffling it with her fingers, next step was to decide its length, the world knew her with long swift hair passing the middle of her back, and on every moon her hair grows alongside the shift.

So she lifted the scissors and cut it off by her neck, throwing the discarded hair into the fire.

Her final means to stay under the radar was of course to keep moving, last night she ran like Hell after the old man shot her, now with sufficient distance she had time to quickly relax and think.

She looped them, little did they know, back to where she hid her bag and stashed her motorcycle, they still think she's deep into the frontier meanwhile she already packed and mounted her bike.

Harley Davidson, one of her favourite brands, she kept to bikes because she knew how to hot wire one, and discarded it easily if she was seen with it.

A kick to its side and she revved it up, set off with her latest hunters being none the wiser.

Freedom, on the road these days were the only place she got it, and it made her sob rubbing a tear.

Where to next? She didn't have a map, only drove where the road took her and with the moon cycle in her like clock work she knew when to stash her goods again and go naked into the forest.

She sighed feeling the wind brush her face under the pan head helmet, her thoughts wandering back to those last moments with him.

"Run!" He yelled, but she didn't want to.

"You must run!"

She hesitated, she didn't want to, she was scared, she didn't want to, she wanted to be with him till the end!

If only she didn't wander off in the streets, somehow they found out who she was, what she was, and Esteban came to her rescue, at the cost of his life...

What has she done, she wiped another tear, sometimes she doesn't think before she does, it gets her into so much trouble.

She took a deep breath and sniffed

"Oh, Esteban... Please forgive me, I know not what I do" she sang.

"Please forgive me, I can't stop loving you"

Her voice for two years now her only companion, she spoke to herself, sang songs since no bike has a radio.

"Don't deny me, this pain I'm going through! Please forgive me, if I need you like I do..." She swallowed looking in her mirror quick then had eyes forward.

"Please believe me, every word I say is true... Please forgive me... I can't stop loving you"

The road opened to a port town and she gathered her guts, drew her mask over her face and placed her sunglasses on her eyes.

"And so! The white knight rides her steel steed into the valley of death!" She pronounced majestically "Yet she fears no evil! She is not afraid! She is a werewolf"

She felt the knot climb her throat listening to her own words then tapped her helmet, how sorry to say that now, being a werewolf made her the most sought after target on earth, especially since she's the last of her kind.

Driving slowly through town she got to the docks, there a fairy awaited and she stopped at its ramp.

"Hi! Where is this fairy going?" She asked the man at the booms.

"To England"

"Oh, good, what's the price?"

"Five hundred a car, three per bike"

"Three hundred?" She said feeling her heart drop, that will take a chunk out of her wallet, but it was for the best, she paid him and drove on.

Inside the boat's park bay she turned the bike off and sat back, checked for cameras but saw none, then drew her mask off and lit a cigarette.

"Excuse me?" She heard a voice and nearly fell off the bike.

The man was sitting in the pickup right next to her, he laughed seeing her reaction.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to spook ya"

"Its okay, I didn't see you there" she said with a racing heart, the smell of human was so thick on this ship she didn't even notice him sitting there, she needed to be more careful.

"I wanted to ask if I can bum one of those cigarettes? I forgot to buy some?"

"Oh" she said taking the packet out again and holding it to him opened.

He took one, nodded and also lit up "So, you headed somewhere?"

"Where the road takes me" she said.

"Nice, me too, traveling the world was always one of my dreams"

She nodded smiling.

"You?"

"Not a dream, just something I'm doing for fun" she answered.

"Ah, that's nice, how's that going for ya?"

"Pretty well, although I must say its hard to hold on to cash, this boat just took a nice bite out of my last thousand bucks"

He laughed "Yeah that's the thing, damn toll fees, border fees, gas fees, they all nibble on our wallets like piranhas"

"No kidding" she said looking at her bike's dials, she still had her glasses on but feared he might bring the wolf question up, or even start talking about it at random.

"You know..." He said and she looked up.

"I just so happened to be in the position to help you with some cash"

"You are?" She asked.

"Yeah, and since we're both drifters..." He looked her eyes, then she saw him scan down to her boots "I'm almost tempted to ask you if you can't help with a problem have between my legs"

She lifted an eyebrow, casual question, not even afraid to say it even if he beat around the bush about it, but none the less...

"You wanna fuck?" She asked back.

"Couldn't help notice you had a body as rocking as that Harley..."

She smiled and took another drag of her cigarette "Fine then, but we set three conditions in place, once each meet them only then do we go for it"

"I'm listening" he answered.

"First, you wear a condom"

He reached over to his glove compartment and took out a box "Covered"

She laughed "You ride alone but carry an entire box of condoms with you? What you blow them up every now and then, draw a face to chat with it?"

He burst out with laughter "No! I travel all around! And when I meet a willing lady I use them, I don't want my genes spread out all over the world you know?"

She smiled and blew out some smoke "Second" she said and held her hands on her chest, she saw he got a kick out of that "The jacket goes, and everything below the belt, but my shirt stays on"

He tilted his head sadly "Aw, I wanted to see why that jacket stands so nicely filled up?"

"That's my condition"

He sighed "Okay then, last one?"

"No names, we do this and be on about our lives"

He nodded "I can agree to that"

She drew on her cigarette again as he cleared his throat "Sorry, never did this condition thing... No questions about what we see, okay?"

"No questions then" she said.

"We don't fall in love"

"Right, its just sex"

"And we don't keep tabs, no numbers, no names, no addresses, no way to get back into contact with each other"

She nodded throwing the cigarette butt down and stepped on it as she dismounted.

She first blew into the air and opened his door, he sat sideways with one arm on the wheel and the other on the seat.

"Now" Bella took het Jacket off and threw it over her bike "Let's make this interesting"

"Okay?"

"Fast? Slow? Hard or soft? I can be anyone you wish"

He smiled "Let's leave that to the moment and see what happens?"

She undid her belt and drew it off, then climbed in pushing him back as she closed the door.
