The stranger in my fiance's living room

Lilly was dying to ask Joseph the reason behind his smile when their granddaughter just literally announced her possible hell. However, she knew that she had to wait for Linda to leave, in the meantime, all she could do was smile at her granddaughter as they were laughing and chatting away. They had supper in her room, thank goodness for the big office table she recently bought for the bedroom, they didn't have to go to the dining area. A helper knocked on the door pushing an elegant rustic service trolley with three cups of hot chocolate. She first cleaned up the empty plates that were covering the table to make space for the cups in her trolley, then politely exited the room. Linda had already informed Jeremy that she would be late, however, she refused to spend the night at his place, much to Jeremy's dismay, but she had a lot to make up for at work. She ended the day too early, and most of her meetings were pushed to the following day, meaning she would have to do 2-days worth of work. She sighed heavily just thinking about it, it was going to be a long day and if it was not for Freddy's competence, the workload would've been twice as much, she found herself feeling extremely grateful for him.

After their hot chocolate, she kissed her grandmother goodnight, her heart limping with joy at the thought of seeing Jeremy again, "Remember your meds and I will send someone over to look after you. Oh, just a heads up, expect Freddy tomorrow, if you think I am fussy, wait until you see him." They laughed because they knew exactly what she was talking about, however, Lilly tried to attest to having a helper, but she knew her granddaughter better than anyone, once she decided, it was final.

The moment the door shut behind her, Lilly turned to her husband, "Why were you excited earlier? Did you hear that? She is falling for that boy-"

Joseph held her hand affectionately, "Nothing love, I just have a feeling that they will be fine", he then led her to the bed.

"Oh my Lord, you know something don't you?", she said as she leaned comfortably on the bed's headboard.

Joseph chuckled, and gently kissed her forehead, "Time my love, time", he knew something but he wanted to wait and see how it played out, he didn't want to say anything, it was still too soon.

Lilly gave him a suspicious stare, then gave in to him, "Whatever it is, it better be good. Please don't tell the kids what happened today, Linda and Freddy is enough. I don't want anyone else fussing about it, although I know John won't even flinch, still, I don't want him to know.". Joseph nodded as he cuddled her in his chest, she sighed heavily thinking about Linda. Admittedly, she was happy with the idea of her granddaughter finally being in love, it was something they hoped for ever since the first time she confessed to a boy back in primary school, but she was not happy with the recipient of her love, more like worried to be precise.

Meanwhile, John had been sitting by the phone waiting for Jeremy's text, they hadn't spoken since the text he sent earlier about his aunt, and he didn't even get a reply to that text. He was beginning to feel unease about their interaction, ever since the day Jeremy went to the gallery opening, their interaction had not been the same, he no longer updated him on everything as they agreed. He could feel that he's changed but he couldn't quite put it, Jeremy used to tell him every time he had an encounter with Linda, but now he's been keeping some things to himself, thanks to the person he hired to follow him, he is aware of all the instances Jeremy had been with Linda and did not report to him as they agreed. If Tony had not told him of Jeremy's plans to steal the galleries, he would have definitely concluded that he was betraying him, and he didn't take betrayal very well, the last person who betrayed him ended up with nothing.

His phone finally dinged, and he hurriedly picked it up, finally, he would find out the progress of their plans, and thanks to Victoria, he could relax about Jin Ae.

His face darkened as he read Jeremy's text, he couldn't hide his disappointment, the text didn't contain the information he was so looking forward to, instead, it was an apology :

"Sorry about my aunt Mr. King, but I assure you that she won't cause any problems",

He smirked in his head, 'Of course, she won't, I made sure', he then went on to send a reply, "It's okay son, it's family, what can we say? Anyway, are you making progress with Linda?", he asked upon seeing that he was not telling him what he wanted to hear.

Jeremy went quiet again making him anxious once more, but thanks to Tony's information, he could afford to wait for his response, just thinking about it made him smile, 'That little bird has no idea what she's got coming for her'. Three glasses of whisky later, his phone still had not dinged but at that point, even Tony's words couldn't stop the knot in his stomach, Jeremy was ignoring him again and he's getting irritated.

Unbeknownst to him, Jeremy has been pulled away from his phone by the knock on the door, after all, he's expecting his soon wife-to-be. With excitement decorating his whole face, he rushed to open the door but was instantly wiped off by the figure that stood outside, "Hi Jay", a soft voice echoed to his ears making him tense up, "What are you doing here Maggie?"

Maggie waltzed inside with two large suitcases, and with a soft smile, "I am home."
