Chapter 33

“Come on,” Takeo told his brother, “I’ll show you around.”

They picked up the suitcases and walked out through the kitchen to the bedroom area.

So that was Isamu! He was larger than Takeo, not fatter, just bigger. He was taller and his shoulders were at least two inches wider.

I went back into the garden to gather my books and brushes to take back into my room.

I was in the garden an hour later, sweeping and weeding. The garden roof was still closed and it was warm enough in there with special lighting to keep the plants growing. It was like a year-round greenhouse. I heard Yuriko come in the front door. She looked through the window at me with a question on her face. I pointed toward the back bedrooms and she hurried back there. I heard their shouts of greeting as she got to Takeo’s room. 17
