First Day as an Adventure [Edited]

While I was inside Senoki's Library, reading all the information that I need to know about the Saif City, I got a notification from the outside world.

<Ding>

I looked at the notification screen and clicked it.

A video screen appeared in front of me showing Rutelae calling for me to wake up.

[I guess it's time for dinner.] I murmured while looking at the time.

<Exiting the Library...>

...

I opened my eyes and saw Rutelae floating next to me.

[Your finally awake. Come on, that girl is calling for you.]

He pointed to the door. I could hear some knocking coming from it.

*Knock-knock*

[Mister Levian, the dinner is ready!]

It was Leny's voice. I got up from the bed and answered her call.

[I'll come down in a minute.]

[Okay then.]

I heard her footsteps moving away. I then looked at Rutelae while stretching my arms.

[So, did you read the information I send you?]

[I did, and I was very surprised by the amount of knowledge Senoki has.]

[I see. I assume you haven't finished reading it.]

[Not yet, still in the first five pages.]

I opened the door and walked outside, but then I turn to look at him again.

[By the way, I think it's better if you introduce yourself to the Inn keeper]

[Hm?Why?]

[Because it will be so creepy for them to see some of the foods vanishing in the thin air.]

[...Oh, I guess you have a point.]

I walked down the stairs and Rutelae undo his spirit form. When I arrived to the table I was greeted by Mrs. Mez.

[Ah, sir Levian...Hm?]

She had a smile when she greeted me but stop when she saw a flying baby animal floating next to me.

<Ding>

'Fufu, she thinks Rutelae is a baby animal.'

[Mrs Mez, this is Rutelae. He is my Spirit Companion.]

[A spirit..?] she tilted her head in confusion.

"Hey, introduce yourself. You know how to do that right?" I shouted in Rutelae's mind.

"O-of course I know, just give me a moment."

[Ahem...H-hi, Kegem lady. My name is Rutelae, spirit of protection. It's nice to meet you.] He gave her a small bow and with a little smile.

[Oh, Well hello there little guy. It's nice to meet you too.]

[Pfft...] I tried to hold back my laugh from the word "Little guy" But Rutelae who was able to catch my little laugh glared at me.

Anyway, I ignored him and then began to explain about Rutelae circumstance to the inn keeper. She then understood what I meant.

[O don't worry sir Levian. Since he is your companion I don't think I need to charge for him too. After all, you already gave us too much.]

[I understand, but still thank you for your kindness.]

[Yes, thank you Lady Mez.]

We both bowed our heads.

[Oh come on, you two are flattering me.]

We then began to eat the food that she prepared for us. It's not too much but still more than enough for the two of us to eat. Some cow meats, breads, and salad.

After we finish eating I introduce Rutelae to Leny. The girl was happy to have a flying baby animal as her new friend.

[Pfft.] I accidentally laugh again because the little girl too thinks he is a flying baby animal.

I wonder what kind of names he will get during this journey.

The next day I woke up early, but not too early like I used to do back at the Laboratory. The people of this world normally woke up at 2:00 to 3:00 in the morning. As for me, I woke up at 1:30 in the morning and used the next 40 minutes for morning exercises, which was only some body pushups exercise, adding some magic control and manipulate inside and outside my body to make it a little more harder... and dangerous.

Yep, manipulating the mana as a magic inside your body to build up your muscles, bones and organs is very dangerous. You need to stay still and focus in doing that. Doing that while moving is very hard, but doing it perfectly while still able to move is Dangerous. It's like as if you are doing some surgery on your self while still moving.

Please, never do something like that unless you know how to do it 100% safely. Just like me I have Senoki to guide me.

Fast forward. After training I went down to the kitchen to make my breakfast. I already ask Mrs Mez permission to use the kitchen last night, and I also told her that I would like to share some knowledge recipes to her so she can cook it for me. She was happy with the idea and accept it.

And with that, a new job was added to my daily schedule. Teaching Mrs Mez and her daughter some new knowledge about cooking and cleaning stuff.

[What is your intention on doing that?] Rutelae was asking me as he was able to see my real goal on helping them.

"I just want to help them so they can grow their inn a little much better." I answered through telepathy.

"Mez's husband is working as a coworker for a business merchant. And his job is traveling with his boss for trading. The man rarely comes back to visit his wife and his daughter, and I want to help them a little so that maybe one day he might change his mind and comes back to work in the inn with his family again."

The inn original belongs to the Mrs Mez's father and she wanted to continue working in the inn. Her husband, Mr Mark could only support them from a far because of his work. The problem is that people rarely come to this place. But if the foods here becomes more delicious, then more people will come to try it.

After we had our breakfast I went straight to the guild to take my quest. There were a lot of quests on each bulletin board, from (A) to (F). I went to the D, E, and F boards quest to see if I can find any quest that's too difficult for the other adventures to clear it.

<Ding>

[Hmm...] I already know which one I should choose but I will act as if I'm having a hard time to decide on which one, so that I don't get to much attention for being the fastest at picking quests.

A minute later I took three quests. One is a D rank quest for hunting some wild beast in the Outer area, and two E rank quests for collecting some rare plants.

After informing one of the guild receptionists about the quest that I took, I left the guild and headed out of the city, straight to the Mystic Forest.

About two hours later, I finished completing the quests. Now I have only six hours left before returning to the guild.

[Are we done?] Rutelae asked me.

We're now in the Outer layer of the Mystic Forest, hunting some wild rabbits, boars, and wolves.

[Yes, that's all of them.] I placed the dead bodies inside the dimensional storage after freezing them completely.

[So we're going back now?]

[Nope, now we're going deeper in to the forest.]

[What! I thought you said we are finished.]

[Yeah, that's for the Guild quest, not my quest. I still have many things I need to collect in the Middle and the Deeper Layer.] I then began walking south.

[Huh... fine.] He looked disappointed and bored.

[Don't worry, we can still eat here in the forest. I brought all the things I need to cook the meats inside.] I raised my left hand, showing my dimensional ring.

[Really?]

He looked very happy when he heard that, and I nodded to him.

We then reached the Middle area and began hunting some wild beast that we encounter, and collect any kinds of herbs or plants that might be useful in the future. Of course, I was using the 3D Map to locate all my targets that I want to hunt. I wasn't hunting randomly, I already decided what I want to get before entering this forest.

Four hours and fifteen minutes later I was already in the Deeper layer for my last item.

[Red Goco? isn't this fruit poison?]

[It is, but if you extract the poison, it will be eatable.]

I then used Poison manipulation magic to extract the poison from the fruit and place them inside a small bottle for future research. After extracting all the poison, I cut the fruit into four pieces and began eating it. Rutelae was a little worried but I reassured him that I will be fine.

I took one large bite and began chewing it.

[... Cough, cough-cough!]

[Xora! Are you okay!] Rutelae shouted in a panic.

[I'm fine *Cough* it just... it taste so good~] I looked at him with a teasing smile.

[That Was Not Funny! You just gave me a heart attack!]

[Sorry. anyway, try it.]

I gave a piece of the fruit and he ate it slowly.

[Hm~ It really does taste good.]

We then went to a near by cave so that I can cook some foods for our lunch. I used the rabbit meat as the main ingredient and added some other ingredients that I collected from the forest, and also added the Red Goco to the flavor.

[Hmm~ this taste even better than anything I had in my life. You're great at cooking Xora.] He praise me with a mouthful look. In response, I just smiled.

[Thanks, but this is not my cooking, it's Senoki. I am just following her guidance.]

[That's not true. Your the one who cooked it so it's your cooking. After all, you are learning from her, so I'm sure you will be great at cooking in the future.]

I was a little surprised by his words. He is right, It may not be my recipe but it's still my cooking. And I am starting to get more experience for cooking.

Huh...

I looked at Rutelae who tilted his head in confusion.

[Thank you Rutelae.] I gave him a small smile.

[Anytime. Hm~ch.]

After finishing our meal we headed back to the city. We did encounter some people and adventurers on the road, but they only greeted me. I was also been greeted by the same guard when I entered the city for the first time. I then found out that his name was Ballot, and he was a former B rank adventure. I had some small chat with him and he introduced me to the other guards.

After entering the city I bought some breads, fruits, vegetables and spices from the plaza for the dinner, and then went to the guild to submit my quests.

I handed the items of the quest to the receptionist Tina and she was shocked when she found out that I just completed three difficult quests in one day. She asked me how I was able to get them so fast. I only told her that I know alot about the Mystic Forest and about the plants that grows there.

After receiving the rewards money for the quests and exchanging some of the things that I got in the exchanging room, I headed to a weapon shop to buy a new sword. All of my swords that I had in my dimensional storage were broken and I end up using a bow.

I went to one of the famous weapon shops in the city that sells expensive and cheap weapons.

[Welcome to the Dawson Weapon Shop!] The one who greeted me was a young dwarf. He looked a little older than me.

[I would like to buy that sword.] I pointed at a cheap broad sword that was hanging on the wall.

The young dwarf was a little confused because I ordered a weapon right after I entered the shop, without checking it.

I didn't need to check its quality to know if it's good or not. All I know that it has a high durability and it's cheap.

The boy then took the sword and gave it to me.

[How much is it?] I asked him straight away.

My fingers were moving on the blade, scanning it as if I was checking it.

The young dwarf who saw my action answered.

[It's 5 golden coins.]

I took out 6 golden coins from my ring and placed them on the counter.

[Keep the rest, and Thank you.] I then turned around and walked out of the shop.

Meanwhile the young dwarf looked at the door with a very confused look on his face.

He was so confused from the previous customer's behavior. The guy walked in, order a cheap sword right away without checking it, and paid more than it's original price, even if it was a little though.

But what confuses him the most was "Thank you". Isn't suppose the seller is the one who says that, and not the customer.

[What a weird guy.] the young dwarf comment.

He went back to his father's work shop in the back to report what happened.

As I was walking I began to chuckle a little. Rutelae who saw me laughing asked.

[Why are you laughing?]

[Because I got a very good sword with a cheap price.]

He looked at the new sword that was attached to my waist.

[Is that so.]

We then reached back to the inn and we were greeted by the inn keeper and her daughter. I gave her the things that I bought from the plaza and told her to use them for the dinner. I then went up to my room to check on the sword that I bought.

But as I entering my room, I remembered something very important.

[I forgot to take a bath.]

I already used magic to wash my body and clothes after I got out from the forest, adding some extra magic spells to get rid of any hidden smell like blood and dirt. But I still need a hot bath. My body need some relaxation, and I never had a hot bath in my previous life.

'I'm sure this city has a bathhouse or something like that.'

<Ding>

Wow, there is a hot spring too? That's much better. I will go there after I change my clothes.

Four minutes later I left the inn and told Mrs Mez that I and Rutelae were going to take a bath.

I was wearing a black sweatshirt which I made it myself during my stay at the Laboratory. I have three shirts inside my ring.

'I will need to buy some fabrics tomorrow.'

Another thing was added in my "Buying List"

[This feels so good~] Rutelae murmured in a low voice.

[I agree.]

We were having our hot warm bath in the hot spring. The style here looks similar to the eastern style.

In the south east continent, to the far east exists a large city that's similar to the Japan in the old time in its style. Most of the people who lives there are human and demi-human.

If you are wondering why it has the same vibe as Japan, it's because the founder of that city was a Japanese.

Yeah, Suprising.

As for how did that happen? Well, it's very simple. He is someone who got reincarnated to this world long ago. And not just him, but there were some other people who got reincarnated to this world from another worlds before me. The total were three.

The first guy had his previous life memories back when he was 4 years old, and then he enjoyed having a normal life. He was one of the people who fought against the slavery of the demi-human, and was the first voice for their Right and Justice.

The second one was reincarnated like me, in a new body. And he became the Third Hero who won in the 3rd and the 4th demon race war.

The third guy was summoned... no, he was reincarnated again in the same body and appearance after he died. And he was the Japanese who build a new culture that is similar to the Japan's culture in this world.

And that's makes me the fourth person who got reincarnated in this world.

[Man~ that was a very nice bath.] I commented as I got out of the hot spring house. We took only 10 minutes to enjoy the bath. Rutelae looked very satisfied with his new experience.

[It sure it was. Hey Xora, why don't we come here every day whenever we want to take a bath.]

[Sure, but I'm planning to build Our Own hot spring somewhere else, so we could enjoy it for our self.]

[Really!?] His eyes were sparking from excitement.

I nodded. I don't plan to come here every day and Pay 1 large silver just for 10 minutes of a hot bath! That's too Expensive... for me that is.

I can just build my own bath house somewhere hidden in the Black Mountains and never need to pay for it.

Rule number one of my journey: always create new things for your own life.

That's why I prefer to create, craft, and make my stuff from weapons, clothes, armor, dishes, potions, magic items, houses, etc. That's one of the many reasons I chose Knowledge as my main skill.

After we went back to the Twilight inn, our meals was already been prepared. The dishes were much better since I taught Mrs Mez some new recipes. Rutelae was very happy with the meals and praised the lady for her cooking.

[Fufu. Well I'm fluttered.]

After finishing our meals, we went back to our room. I was crafting some potions, magic items, knifes and poisons, for tomorrow. But I still need alot of ore, metals, irons, and crystal to forge weapons.

[No, what I need is more money.]

I looked at Rutelae who is sitting on the bed while reading the holographic texts that I shared. He looks like a little kid who is reading something interesting, on an iPad.

'Tomorrow I will have a lot of work.'

I activate my skill to ask Senoki's help for the best plan.

- Red Goco is a fruit that is poison to any living being who eats it, and only those who has high resistance to poison can eat it, like the slimes or a high level magic beast like the Eitr, Cantarella, Unicorn, Griffins and the Phoenix.

- Xora is the 4th person who got reincarnated to this world, the one difference between him and the other three is that he still remembers the conversation he had with the Arc Angel M. Usually or sometimes, those who will get reincarnated (given another chance while keeping his previous life memories) will forget that they met the Arc Angel after receiving a skill or a gift.

- The first guy got reincarnated after he died in an accident, and after meeting M, he didn't receive a skill but he was able to choose what kind of life he want to live in. M gave him the option to reincarnate in the World of Tera, the main core of the WORLD Saletera. The next moment he opened his eyes, he doesn't remember anything about his conversation with the Arc Angel. He only remembers that he died and waking up as a 4 years old boy.

- The 2nd guy was a teenager who died in the sea drowning. After meeting the Arc Angel, he wished to reincarnate in a fantasy world with strong skill to survive and helps him. The gift he received was "Experience" the ability to gain more experience in any job without any limits and fast. He was reincarnated into a normal family and was able to become a Hero for the 3th demon race war at the age of 17. He doesn't remember how he got the skill or how he got reincarnated. The only thing he remembers is getting drown in the sea and then waking up as a baby.

- the 3rd guy was a samurai from Japan who died during a war. When he met M he wished to live in a world where he can build a home similar to his old home, while keeping his appearance, his body, his memories, and all his experiences and skills. The man then got reincarnated somewhere in the far east with his same old appearance and the same clothes and sword. He didn't understand what happened and doesn't know how he got there. The only memories he has was dying in the battle field and then waking up inside a forest. Although the man didn't get any skills or gifts, but his experience on using his Katana and his martial arts became more stronger thanks to the mana that exists in this world.

- Xora still remembers the conversation with the Arc Angel M can be because of three reasons:

1) The Arc Angel forgot to erase his memories about the meeting.

2) Xora's Skill "Knowledge of the World" installed his memories back after he got reincarnated without him knowing. (since Senoki knows that Xora doesn't want to forget what happened.)

3) M didn't erase Xora's memories about the meeting because they will meet again in the future, or maybe because Xora (Noctis) was a little more special than the others.
