21. Choices.

"Do you have everything you need?" I ask the girls who nod and are quite curious.

"Good. This is one of my secrets so." I open up a blue menu which shows world selection and start scrolling until I find the place I want to go.

I wanted a world good for food and training plus some other nifty little trinkets. However I wanted human training that could help in my Coliseum. Abilities that couldn't be taken away would be nice.

I click on the world and transfer some of my funds, I had left behind some items for Ye Mu to sell for me. Mostly pills and elixirs.

Now i could pick a specific time and place to transfer to. I could only do this once so I couldn't just warp around the world picking up rare items or something. However I could do it once.

I input the details I want and then click the button.

All three of us vanish in a flash of light.

We appear in a forested area and I quickly search around for the object I wanted to spawn near and found it.

A purplish fruit with strange patterns.

"Yami-Yami no mi." I smile and pluck the fruit.

The girls look around curiously and spot the strange fruit.

"What is that?" Ning'er asks.

"A devil fruit. It gives amazing abilities however it comes at a cost of never being able to swim again. You can also only ever eat one or you die unless it's a special fruit. Which I'm holding in my hand." a blade appears in my hand. This would be my second zanpakuto. However it's a tricky one and I dont like to use it.

"Bankai, Scales of balance!"

The world shifts to a black room. Inside of the room is nothing but a set of scales and a black writhing mass.

"Oh the king has come to visit?" The mass says in a spooky rasp.

"Hello Balance, I'm here to make a trade." I place the purple fruit on the scale. Information floods my mind about its abilities and side effects.

"I want to get rid of the inability to swim and weakness to sea water. What's the cost." I ask.

Balance has the ability to adjust, give and take abilities, however it comes at a price.

"1 fate realm, your left eye and 3 teeth." the mass speaks.

I frown at that but i really dont want the sea water weakness.

"I accept the trade." i say and i feel a drain on my body and my vision goes dark on the left eye, there is an uncomfortable feeling in my mouth as 3 wisdom teeth are ripped out.

An eyeball, 3 teeth and an orb of light appears on the scale and it quickly balances out.

A black shadow from the fruit and the eye, teeth, and light orb are sucked into the mass.

"A deal has been struck!" Balance says before the world shimmers and now I'm holding the new devil fruit in my hand.

There is a gasp from the girls as I feel warmth run down my cheek. Blood from my lost eye.

"What happened to your eye?!" Ning'er asks in shock.

"In all thing the balance." I chuckle before biting into the purple fruit and tasting something along the lines of warm garbage juice that has been sitting in the bottom of a dumpster on a hot summer day.

I fight back the urge to hurl as I swallow down the nasty fruit bite. Along with a bit of blood that was in my mouth from the tooth extraction.

An instant change happens in my body, my skin darkens slightly to a darker tan and shadowy bags appear under my eyes. Giving me a darker look.

"Odd." I toss the rest of the fruit into my soul realm just in case. Purplish black smoke appears on my hand. I'll have to learn to control this better later on.

I feel something rub on my face and see Ning'er wiping my cheek and trying to examine the area.

I hold up my hand and use some energy to heal the wounds in my mouth and eye so they stop bleeding. "Looks like I'm going with one eye for a while." I chuckle.

"How did you even lose your eye?!!" Ning'er asks in worry again.

"Trade for adjustments to the fruit. A sacrifice is needed to make adjustments, it happened to be part of my cultivation, some teeth and my eye, in exchange for my ability to swim." I explain.

Of course I can offer other things in exchange however the request from balance is the most efficient. If I had rejected and tried to use other items it would cost me 10x more in trade. Instead of my eye I would most likely have had to use 5 heavenly fate realms which is way above my pay grade.

"Come we need to find out where we are." I smile at the girls and head to look around.

Sadly it seems we are on an abandoned island.

"Well that's not good. Enter my soul realm and I'll fly around to find an inhabited island." I tell the girls who nod before stepping into the portal to my soul realm.

I hop into the sky and look around before flying off towards the next island, which was uninhabited, it takes a couple of tries before I find an island and am able to get directions and a cheap map.

I'm on the grand line apparently. My first stop would be to eat blue and find out my damn timeline as I mostly wanted the fruit.

There are three fruits that I like, the Ope-Ope fruit, The lightning fruit of enel, and The Yami-Yami fruit which let's me have two devil fruits and cancel others abilities. Sadly i bet the price of being able to eat 3 fruits is way too much for me to pay. If I had to pick now, then my next fruit would be the Ope-Ope fruit.
