The Dao of Freedom

When the young woman heard that, she was shocked into silence. Suddenly, she fell into a daze and Red could suddenly hear the sound of a drop.

When Red heard sound within his soul that he was stunned. He had read about this phenomenon before. The sound of a drop vibrating within your soul was the sign of the enlightenment in a Dao. Amazingly, this young woman through hearing Red speaking his thoughts had gained an enlightenment and might even obtain understanding of a Dao.

Red guarded the young woman, lest she be disturbed from her enlightenment and waited. A few hours passed by before the young woman awoke from her trance.

"Congratulations. It appears you have managed to perceive a Dao." Red complemented.

The young woman clasped her hands and bowed in front of Red. "Thank you for your enlightening words which let me perceive a sliver of the Dao of Freedom."

"The Dao of Freedom? It indeed sounds like a worthy Dao, but to pursue it you will have to go against your own sect and perhaps even the galaxy itself." Red commented.

"When we dare go against the heaven's itself, what is but a sect of the mortal coil?" The young woman replied with Red's own words with a frivolous smile. Her entire disposition had suddenly changed and become free. Free of burdens and free to choose her own destiny.

"I have a doubt. I would be grateful if you could explain it to me?" The woman asked Red.

Red had a bitter smile on his face. This woman had just comprehended the dao and is asking me a doubt. "Go ahead, I'll try to answer it if I can."

"Your understanding of being free is much higher than mine, yet why haven't you managed to comprehend the dao?" She asked. She was indeed puzzled by this. Clearly his word's had initiated her enlightenment and his own understanding was deep, yet he wasn't enlightened himself.

When Red heard this, he too had been puzzled for a moment, but then he realized something.

"I may have freedom, so I need not pursue it. You yearn for freedom, hence you must pursue it." He said, after thinking for a bit.

When he said that, he was shocked. Because he heard another dao drop ring through his soul. The young woman was undergoing another enlightenment and with the mental enlightenment, her cultivation broke through to enter core formation realm.

Red realized that this woman's yearning to be free was very deep and the loss of her mother must have caused her to rebel even more along with her situation. He feared that now that she had descended deep into this Dao, it would be impossible for her to remain Radiant Sect's holy child or the junior clan leader's fiancee.

If the Radiant Sect found out that it was him, who had given her two consecutive enlightenment states in such a rebellious dao they will definitely try to hunt him down.

When the young woman opened her eyes, her eyes glowed and her disposition was vastly different than before. From a quiet cold woman, she suddenly had a rowdy flair and a hint of mischief in her eyes. She clasped and thanked Red again.

Two days later, Red was completely healed and the two set off. Their path was filled with tons of Zergs and over the days, Red spent a good amount of time cooking and eating Zerg meat, which he discovered enlarge his qi lake more and more. He even felt a hint of desire from the qi lake as if it were hungry. At that moment, the cauldron spoke up in Red's mind."You are really not ordinary. How did your qi lake birth a spirit?"

"What do you mean?" Red asked, shocked. The cauldron was shocked as well. "Cultivators can birth spirits, but very rarely there have been legends of the qi lake birthing a spirit. Such spirits are known as spirits of cultivation and they are said to rapidly increase your cultivation speed. However, they are exceedingly rare. Even in my long life I have never heard of anyone with a cultivation spirit, only heard legends of it. Right now your qi lake just gave birth to a spirit you need to feed it to let it grow."

Red was stunned, but he asked. "What do I feed it?" The cauldron was puzzled as well, each spirit had its own needs. "Wasn't it yearning the meat of those bugs just now, just eat more and see if it feels satisfied."

One day, while practicing the sword, Red suddenly felt his whole body tremor and become as sharp as a sword. His disposition had suddenly changed and he felt as if something had unlocked inside of him. He found a peak core formation caterpillar Zerg of the kind he had avoided before and faced it head on.

Facing the caterpillar, which was rushing towards him with high speed, Red did not hesitate at all. His body suddenly became one with the sword and he felt he was the sword himself. A powerful intent bubbled out of his body and the sword began vibrating, making a chiming sound.

When the young woman saw that she realized why his disposition had changed. "He actually comprehended sword intent!" She wondered. Red, on the other hand moved and his hand holding the sword swiveled. The sword moved blindingly in the air, as if almost invisible. Red was already done with the move and the caterpillar was slit into halves. From that day on, the journey of the two had become vastly simpler and Red constantly spent his time on the sword. With the young woman also having become a core formation practitioner, the dangers were relatively simpler as long as they didn't encounter the humanoid monster or zergs of it type again.

Red and the young woman went on for a few more days, but they felt that there weren't as many Zergs attacking them now. They felt that the Zergs were actually all going in the same direction.

"There might be others being targetted by the Zergs, may be we can find help there." Red said as the two began to follow the trail of the Zergs.
