The Way Foward.

Damien looked around his room once more gathering his thoughts as he sat down and began to recall all he could remember from this moment.

"The invasion begins on the 25th of August. Two days from now, I am not exactly sure about the time they came into contact with us. Either way, I don't have any time to do something substantial. My only hope rests on the current leader of the invasion. The 13th Son of the Ruxwell Family. Arin Ruxwell." Damien thought as another flash of rage spread throughout his body but this time it was quickly suppressed.

"I can't believe that sadistic bastard is the key to getting free from the clutches of the Ruxwell family."

Damien recalled all that he could about the fellow.

"Arin Ruxwell. A highly valued individual within the Ruxwell family due to him being one of the 18 sons of the current Patriarch of the Ruxwell family. While his talent is not as good as his brothers, He will have to make do as a chess piece currently. Why couldn't I have been sent back farther in time? Fuck. Well, it's nothing to dwell on even if I was sent back further. Is there really anything I could do? What can a barely Level 1 civilization do to one that possesses literal planet-busting capabilities."

Damien lamented the unfairness of the situation as he truly took in how weak and useless humanity was as no option was going to have a good effect.

Reporting to the police? Have fun at the mental asylum talking about 'Aliens' who want to enslave the humans on Earth.

Post on social media? Yea, good luck sticking out amongst the thousands of similar conspiracy theorists on the various media platforms.

Almost all options had outcomes like this. And even if Damien was successful in sharing the information then what? Mass Panic. Protests.

And in the worst-case scenario, the Ruxwell family catches wind of it and traces the origin of the rumors back to him.

He would be tortured and apprehended in hopes he had some sort of divine ability to predict the future.

Anyway, there was no viable method here. As for telling his mother and sister. He had considered that, In fact, the thought passed through his mind the instant he saw her again after getting reborn. But he ultimately decided not to because if by some grace of god, they managed to believe him and not attribute the mad words coming out of his mouth to some new drug the youth were trying. What then? ALl he would have done was worry them as they had no escape from an inevitable fate and no one would take too kindly to the fact that they were about to be enslaved by one of the most powerful families in the universe with no way of escape.

"Arin Ruxwell. Oh Arin, You don't know what I have in store for you." Damien said as a light smirk graced his face as he turned to look outside his bedroom window to get a better view of the city and the residents.

"Heh. All these people do not know that in less than three days their ordinary and mundane lives would be turned upside down. I guess there truly is bliss in ignorance. But I have learned that ignorance breeds weakness and within the universe, the most cardinal sin is being weak." Damien sighed before a look of resolve planted itself on his face.

He then turned his head upward taking in the sun that was about to be blotted out in a few days. Damien once again sighed before walking towards the bathroom in his room as he turned his head and looked in the bathroom mirror. Taking in his looks.

"I look so young," Damien said as put his hand and ran it through his hair. 'I should cut my hair' Damien thought as he twirled his multi-coloured hair. Yes, Damien's hair was multi-colored. A mix of black and white with the white being less prominent within his hair as it was less than a quarter of his total hair.

And this wasn't due to hair dye or any such products. This was Damien's natural hair. When he had asked his mom about it she had said it was from his father and the black meant he had taken after her more. Damien smiled as he remembered his mother's smooth black hair that she would flaunt about.

"DAMIEN ARE YOU BACK!!" Damien's thoughts were abruptly cut off as he looked at the intruder that had just barged into his room and it was one who he shared similar features with. It was his little sister Maxine.

"Hey, Big Bro I heard you were coming back today. How have you been? Not even a single message to me or Mom we actually thought you were dead you know. Anyway, tell me about college. How is it? Do you have any new friends? High School is so boring, you know? I can't wait to graduate and go to college. Anyway, you want some food there's some-"

"Maxine chill out, I'm not going anywhere you could take your time to tell me about stuff instead of talking like a machine gun. I heard less than half of what you just said." Damien sighed as he looked at Maxine. She had been like this ever since they were kids. Boisterous and loud she was Damien's counterpart as he was more on the introverted side a fact everyone in his family knew as that's why they questioned if he had friends.

"Yes, I know bro. Anyway, Mum said you should come downstairs. She is about to make supper soon and she wants us there with her. You know how she gets then we are being 'lazy' I just don't want her to have another rampage." Maxine said as she smiled and dropped on Damien's bed.

"Hey, I just made that!" Damien said in exasperation.

"Haha, you're going to have to make it again," Maxine replied with a cocky grin on her face.

"Let's just go eat dinner," Damien said already tired of Maxine's antics.

They both made their way to the kitchen as they approached their noses were assaulted with a divine smell that made their bodies shake in excitement and expectation as they simultaneously turned their gazes toward their mother. No.. goddess as the smell and the looks of the food were nothing short of heavenly.

"You both came on time. Dinner is ready!" Damien and Maxine's mother said as she gestured towards the spread of food on the table. Each one looked far more delectable than the last.

Noticing their gazes and drooling mouths she laughed as her two children had always been like this.

"You guys can eat, come on." She said as all three of them sat at the table and began to serve themselves.

Maxine felt no need for formalities as she directly ate from the main tray. Her mouth was filled with so much food her cheeks puffed up making it quite a comical sight. One Damien and his mother did not fail to laugh out as their boisterous laughter made Maxine's cheeks turn red as she questioned with a mouthful of food what they were laughing at.

This further added to the other two's amusement as they laughed even more as a joyous atmosphere was formed one which Damien thoroughly enjoyed as his resolve was further steeled.

'In this life, neither of you will go through that horrible fate again. I will make sure of it no matter what I have to do.' Damien swore within his heart at the dinner table as he enjoyed a joyous meal with his family.
