Caius really couldn't absorb the answer, and was in denial instead.
"What?" Although his instincts had indeed been warning him of this possibility, which was why he was so nervous, he really didn't think she'd reject it.
But seeing that she was only staring at him and making no gesture to explain. He closed his eyes to gather his wits, his palm on her body unconsciously tightening.
"...why?" He asked, voice sounding too croaky for his taste.
She softly touched his face, caressing it, and it did soothe him a little. "You're a professor. It's prohibited."
Caius frowned.
He forgot about this. He truly had.
But at the same time, he was relieved. This meant that she only rejected him for his sake, right?
"It is fine. If people don't find out it won't be a problem. Even if they do, my credentials can find me a good job anywhere." He said with a reassuring smile, turning her body so he could grab hold of her small shoulders.
