Arc 1 - Chapter 5: Got Damn It!

The next day*

Chikao rubs the back of his neck, with an awkward look on his face. For he did an experiment to see if he could combine his [Magic] with physical combats. Since he figured out what fighting style to recreate and it looks like either the original style is a lot stronger than it should at the beginning, or the formula to make it is more powerful than the original.

In front of him is a nasty looking color reddish paste on the ground and pretty much on the trees too. This used to be a giant mutated beetle head and snake-like scale over the body of a pig. Before it got punched to death in a similar style to One Punch Man.

This is the result of using [17th Period Math Time Magic] with the formula of [Impact + Blast]. Making a single fist causing a major explosion upon physical contact. Of course, the explosion didn't affect Chikao at all. With the help by adding a safety measure to the formula. Otherwise, he would end up blowing up his right arm the moment he lands a hit on the Stray Devil.

Still, though, that one punch is enough to make Chikao have to figure out that is on the right path in his decision in getting [17th Period Math Time Magic] instead of the [18th Period Science Magic] since the latter would require Chikao to study more into the subject of science to make it work while [17th Period Math Time Magic] just focus on math along with concepts and among other things to go together with it.

Anyway, One Punch Man's fighting style is simple, but Chikao knows he won't be able to reach even 1% of the same original raw power that One Punch Man can; therefore, he picked out a fighting style that is similar but still different. Yet, enough to face opponents that are not humans. Plus, even against humans would be fatal for them, so Chikao is happy to recreate the [Bairong Style] from the Witch Hunter series and it goes great with [Flawless Action] too, since it's main core is [Ki Control], speed, and power, mixed together with martial arts. Therefore, it will stay as [Bairong Style] as long the three parts stay together to make up the core of the fighting style, with the only weakness being against people specialized in speed.

However, that's fine. Since the [17th Period Math Time Magic] will take care of that.

"Now, to clean up this mess." Chikao mumbles to himself, as he uses his [Magic] to clean the place via [Area - Mess], creating a big [Magic Circle] to literally erase the evidence of the Stray Devil's existence. Leaving behind only the same area like before.

Once that's done. Chikao returns back to the haunted house to think about what other experiments he should do next.

The next day*

"Hello, how many I help you?" Chikao asks his potential customer from the other side of the call. "What year and level would you like?" Chikao had decided, that he will become a math tutor, as well as giving out math homework's answer for the right price, to help people out in exchange for money and the safest way to act like a robot by performing amazing math solving without the need for any tools to help him solving math problems.

"Yeah, 2nd-Year high school. Answer for homework." A muffled male voice replied.

Chikao use [Numeromancy] to find out who this caller is and suppress the urge to sigh, for the person that might be his first customer is literally the main character, Issei Hyoudou.

At least Issei is actually wasn't trying to troll him, nor try to scam him. Lucky for Issei, otherwise, Chikao would have gone after him for payback.

"Seeing how you've called me. You understand the rules. Send the picture of the homework first, then I'll tell you the price for it." Chikao hangs up before Issei could say anything else. Not even a minute over. Chikao checks the picture and easily complete it in just a second with [Numerical Precision]. Then, call Issei's numbers, which didn't take a second before the call go through. "That will be 4,000 yen. Would you like it to be delivered or you want to come to get it yourself in person?"

"Can you lower it a bit?" Issei asks with a hint of shock, for such a high price.

"Kid. If you have read everything on the website. I would have your homework done, to either deliver it over to you via email after you pay online or come get it yourself and hand me the money." Chikao glance over at his open laptop, where he is on his own website he made, which was a lot easier to make now he have [Human Magic] to work with and [Numerical Precision]. Especially the [Numerical Precision]. Make things so easy for Chikao. Nearly making it worth all these years with his weird golden finger.

"Um. Are you sure, that all the answers will be correct?" Issei wasn't completely sure if this website is a scam or not, but he will be in trouble if he doesn't get this math homework done and turn in on time.

"I'll be including the guide on how to reach the solution, so you'll also learn how it is done. If not, not my problem. I'm only being paid for my service, not answer all your problems unless you want to hire me to be your math tutor, then that will be a completely different story. So, are you paying or not?" Chikao asks Issei with a bored tone. Not that in a hurry to do business as this is more of a job on the side while he is resting from training.

Chikao can literally hear the sound of Issei gritting his teeth from the other side of the call.

"Alright, give me a second to pay online." Issei hangs up the call.

15 minutes later*

Chikao let out a yawn after emailing the answers and guides for the answer, to Issei before shutting down his laptop, then put it to the side and grab his wallet from the table before heading out for the night to get something to eat.

Once out of the house through the back before taking the route he always uses whenever he needs to leave the haunted house without others knowing someone is already living there.

This didn't take that much time before he arrived at the Plaza. The town square surrounded by restaurants and shopping malls with a giant clock tower at the center.

Walking around. Chikao check on which restaurant to eat this time. Actually, he pretty much ate nearly all the known restaurants since he started living in this town. With a few leftovers, that he is putting off due to certain people eat there, making it hard for Chikao to enter. Well, that was before Chikao just went with the flow and eat at those restaurants, not caring if he met one of the canon characters. After all, he is a complete stranger to them; therefore, they wouldn't bother him unless he has a [Sacred Gear]. Something he does not have after multiple tries before giving up after figuring out what world he was reborn in.

On the side note of meeting the canon characters. Chikao can say for sure, that dealing with either Rias and Sona would be somewhat a challenge early on while getting better in the future, depending on how he deals with them. Including their peerages. But, for now, Chikao will just pretend not to know them and just glad he plans ahead by hiding any signs that show, that he belongs to the supernatural world.

Can't have either Rias or Sona thinking they found a potential new peerage member to recruit. And Chikao definitely for sure doesn't want to be recruited by Rias, because he can only see himself in a deadly situation, where he on his last leg before dying. Only for Rias to appear and revive him into a Reincarnated Devil.

Yeah, not happening. He rather joins Sona. At least with her, Chikao won't have to be concerned about rather if Rias would arrive in time to revive or not. Nonetheless, thanks to having [Human Magic] and near-limitless power of using it. Something he noticed how unlike he thought at first, where he need [Mana] to power the [Human Magic]. There was no need at all. Only calculating the numbers and bam. [Human Magic] right there, for all humans to use as long they have the brain to comprehend all the numbers and the right formulas to turn it into [Magic].

It's pretty much like [Devil Magic], where imagination and [Demonic Power] is the limit while [Human Magic]'s limit is both imagination and the ability to find the right equations to bring that imagination into reality. And Chikao has no problem doing that, where he only needs some time before getting the equation to make it work.

Chikao still finds it weird, that in Highschool DxD. Math equal [Magic] for humans and those that wanted to use [Human Magic] to boost their combat abilities. Then again, maybe it's just him while the other magicians would use [Mana] to power their [Human Magic] due to not knowing all the formulas to use the [Human Magic] to the fullest.

He wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Chikao could actually see why there aren't many magicians that very powerful in this world.

Looking at a nearby ramen stall. Chikao took an empty available seat, where there are other customers already eating.

"Give me shoyu ramen." Chikao order, getting a nod from the chef.

Taking this time to wait for his ramen. Chikao did a quick check on his status window.

Chikao raises an eyebrow, to see a 2% increase in his acting process and guess it's due to solving Issei's math homework and email it over to him, including the guides to answering it in such a short time, leading to Issei being completely shocked or something upon getting his paid answers.

So, it looks like this plan will work out for Chikao. Though, he does wonder why this work now when he tried to act privately, then guess it due to speaking with Issei over the phone, having another person for Chikao act before them.

"Here your shoyu ramen!"

"Thanks." Chikao closes the status window and start eating while thinking about if he should return back home to get back to training or not, maybe see if he could recreate [18th Period Science] this time. Or something else that won't require too much studying in the subject of science.

Decision. Decision. Decision.

A week later*

"Hm. This is something." Chikao did not expect this. Also, with all the customers he is getting online and making enough money without having to worry about eating out daily. Even buying expensive food won't be a problem for Chikao.

However, Chikao runs into a small problem, where after a few days, many people begin to call in. Leading to Chikao having to change a few things online, where math tutoring is no longer an option for in-person and can only through online. This includes not being able to show up in person to hand over the paid answers. Everything is now online, including contacting Chikao himself, which is by email now.

Chikao did not expect this one bit and wonder if the people here in Kuoh Town just suck at math or something.

Issei, Chikao can understand, but the others? Damn...

Anyway, Chikao had to scrap the [18th Period Science] due to finding out he had no talent in science whatsoever and [Numerical Precision] didn't help him understand science completely; therefore, he was dreaming for a bit, to think he could recreate the [18th Period Science] aka the power of science.

No matter. Chikao can still manipulate the elements itself through [Human Magic]. It just will take some time before he can get the ability to use certain [Elemental Magic]. Though, he still didn't manage to recreate the [Light Element] to make [Holy Water] and [Light Bullet]. Much to Chikao's disappointment.

So, Chikao might need to look for Asia after all, because he really needs to find the equations for the [Light Element], not just the sunlight, which he has no idea if it could be useful as a replacement, but just to be sure. He will have to check it out with Asia. Furthermore, Chikao is a bit curious to see Rias using her [Power of Destruction] and hope to recreate it as well with [Human Magic]. No idea if it will work, but it's worth the try.

However, Chikao has to do it secretly without ending up giving Rias the chance to find out there is a human, who somehow recreate something that only certain people can use it. In fact, Chikao might have to check with [Numeromancy] to see the result of him getting caught or not.

Grabbing the can of coke to drink, thinking about if he should use [Numeromancy] to recheck when the plot begins or not. Then, decide to just check his website and email, to see if there any new customers now.

Chikao raises an eyebrow, to see there are more customers again, then quickly replied to all of them on the website before checking anything else online. But, that just lead to Chikao letting out a disappointed sigh, to see not much that catch his attention like video games, to even online manga. Not much other than rip-off versions, that just made him more disappointed than ever.

Letting out a yawn, Chikao decides to take a nap today. Something Chikao realizes that it been a long time since the last time he had a nap. So, he will just do that now and think about what else to do for the rest of the day.

A few hours later*

Chikao slowly opens his eyes and looks out the window behind the couch he sleeping on, to see there is still daylight. Then grab his phone to check the time, to see 3:50 PM. Plenty of time left for the day to do whatever and seeing how he just woke up his nap. Chikao didn't feel like training, so today will just be a relaxing one. He can continue training tomorrow. Not like he will miss out much for taking a break for the entire day.

Getting up from his precious couch, Chikao gets ready to head out after using his [Human Magic] to clean himself via [17th Period Math Time: Me + Clean], literally clean everything. No need to change clothes either unless he wants to, which he didn't need to. Since it seems like everyone who dresses business casual in this town wouldn't change if they needed to.

Chikao has no idea if that's a thing even back in his first life or not, but either way. Save him the trouble of having to pick out something else to wear for the day.

But, before he heads out, Chikao grabs the [Exorcist Gun] and debate if he should take it along with him or not. Seeing how he has already come up with many different types of bullets as a replacement for the [Light Bullets] or maybe he should get a different gun entirely. Since he rather not let Rias and Sona think he an Exorcist, which he isn't.

30 minutes later*

Chikao has regrets. Lots of it.

For one thing. He should have stayed home and on his comfortable couch for the rest of the day. Hell, he should have used [Numeromancy] to check if it's safe for him to come outside for the day or not. Well, Chikao wished he did! Because, holy shit. He did not expect to meet one of the big players in this world.

Up ahead, there is a beautiful young woman with the cute face of a child that has long black hair, violet eyes, and with pointy ears. She wears a cute frilly dress that has a corset jumper skirt. Her body also gives out a tremendous dark aura, but seem to be suppressed to the limit; however, that didn't stop everyone nearby to subconsciously avoid the area this woman is at.

This woman is Nyx, the Primordial Goddess of the Night and from Greek mythology.

Now, Chikao would have used [Numeromancy] to find out why Nyx is here in Kuoh Town when he barely remembers, but enough, to know she shouldn't be here before the plot and would be distant away before her appearance before Issei's group. Yet, here she is right now before Chikao's eyes.

Chikao flinches when he saw Nyx turn in his direction as if she could feel him looking at her. This caused Chikao to quickly put his acting ability to the test by acting like nothing happen, with a stoic facial expression and carefully look around the place, for whatever to keep his mind off of Nyx.

"Why hello there~!" Nyx said to Chikao, causing the latter to nearly shiver before it was quickly suppressed right away; however, Nyx saw it right away. Making Nyx's smile to widen a bit since this is proof enough, that Chikao was looking at her just now. "It's not polite to ignore others, right?" Nyx undoes a bit of her suppressed dark aura and happy to see Chikao breaking in cold sweats. But, she was a bit surprised to see him having a nosebleed.
