The date loomed ever closer to the opening of The Arcades Academy. When I had originally planned this event before having met Keava, I would not have thought I would be using it to gain the upper hand on New York’s next mayor.
The streets outside were abuzz with the mayoral election outcome; Edwin Salazar won by a landslide which did not surprise me in the slightest. The other candidates never stood a chance against him and his numerous connections. Even if the city had not voted in his favor I was certain he would have still won.
He now controlled the City in name as well; I only hoped that it would not make any difference to our plans. If he had the right people in his pocket then he would never find justice in this state.
I drove down Main Street and parked outside Shirley’s building.
