Message from an Old Friend…

Garrick frowned as he and Tammy flew through the air, tracking their target. Tammy looked at him, concerned.

"What's the matter? You almost never look this upset."

"I just, I have a really bad feeling about this Tammy."

"About our mission?"

Garrick shook his head.

"Most Blue Oni stay to themselves, or have conformed to the human society, like me. It just seems unusual for so many hostile Oni to appear all around the same time."

Tammy rolled her eyes.

"Don't worry so much, we fought plenty of Oni last year too! And as long as we have you and Master Leo, we're fine! Here how about we go out for dinner tonight and destress, just me and you, sound good?"

Garrick smiled.

"Sounds good. I really do hope you're right!"

--some miles away

Adrianna watched as Adrian faced off with the Oni. His body glowed with a faint, golden light, and hid face was the most intense she'd ever seen it. He walked forward, looking the Oni dead in the eyes.

"Adrianna. If I'm not done in the next five minutes, you take Tony and leave, got it?!"

"Um o-oka…"

"GOT IT?!!!"

"Y-YES SIR!"

Adrian nodded, right before hitting the Oni with all his might, sending the Oni through several buildings. He flew with a dazzling speed hunting the Oni down! Adrianna watched in awe! Archangel completely outclassed the Oni, knocking him back and forth through the skies with blinding speeds. Tony began to stir.

"What's going on?"

"Archangel is fighting the Oni himself, he told me to stay back a watch you, and to leave if he isn't done in five minutes!"

Tony shook him head, standing up slowly.

"So he went that route, huh? We wait until he's done, even if he losses, he should do enough damage to make killing to Oni easier for us!"

Just as Tony finished his sentence, the Oni crashed loudly into the roof they stood on. Archangel landed right on top of him, crushing the Oni's head underneath his feet. As his Halo disappeared, Archangel fell with a thud. Tony frowned.

"Hey idiot! Why'd you use that power when you still had a Class One hero to help?!"

Adrian spoke softly.

"I just, I didn't want you guys to get hurt."

Tony shook his head.

"Well, you won't be moving for days now so I hope it was worth it! Adrianna, can you carry him with your telekinesis?"

"Um, y-yes."

"Good! Let's go find Garrick!"

--a few minutes later

Garrick was baffled. He'd never encounter and Oni as strong as this one. He labored for air as he tried to stand up. Tammy had already been knocked out and it was all he could do to hold the Oni back.

"Damn! I don't think I can beat this guy!"

"Heh, beat me?!"

Garrick turned right into a fist that sent him flying across the street.

"You can't even touch me kid!!!"

Suddenly the Oni's body was outlined in pink, and it looked as if he was tossed away, rolling down the street.

"Are you alright Garrick?"

Tony screamed down to him. Garrick struggled to stand. Adrianna grabbed him and Tammy pulling them up to the roof they stood on. Garrick looked concerned.

"We need to leave, now!!!"

"Now now, don't be so hasty, you haven't even said goodbye!"

The Oni appeared right behind them. They all jumped.

"Don't be so afraid, I'm not here to kill you just yet! But I do have a message for to take back to the bastard known as The Divine! You see my name is Nox and me and my army work for a man who wants to restore this world, eliminating all you human filth! And he wanted me to tell you this. Wherever angels are, demons somewhere nearby!"

And in a blink of an eye, he was gone. They looked around, confused until Garrick spoke.

"We need to report to Master Leo, ASAP!!!"

--back at the House of the Legends Faction

Flames engulfed the entirety of their training grounds. Two red, demonic horns protruded out of Hellfire's head. His face twisted in an evil grin. Leo smirked.

"I haven't had this much fun in a while! To think you'd be this powerful, Diablo."

"Heh, in my original body you'd have stood no chance against me!!! This brat that absorbed my soul is saving your life by trying to hold my power back!!!"

"And once that brat learns to fully control that power, he'll be stronger than you ever were!"

Hellfire frowned.

"As if I could be controlled!!!"

Hellfire slashed the ground, causing a wall of flames to erupt, heading straight for Leo. Leo snaped and disappeared, leaving a bolt of lightning in his place.

"Your speed is rather annoying! Why don't you sit still and quit avoiding your inevitable death?!"

"If you weren't in my student's body, I wouldn't be running!"

Suddenly Hellfire fell to his knee, head his head and letting out a terrifying scream. Leo waited. As Hellfire stood, his face softened. Leo walked forward.

"Am I speaking to Mark or Diablo?"

"Master Leo, I think I've finally gained control."

Leo smiled.

"Good, now call back all these flames! This was only 50% of Diablo's power that you conquered. It won't get any easier from here!"

"Master!!!"

As the flames disappeared, Leo saw Garrick staring at him, beaten and bruised.

"Master, we need to talk!"
