First Reward

While Catwoman was venting about her failure to no one, Mathison went around a dozen blocks haphazardly and had changed disguises three or five times before returning home as himself.

　　Even in a Dc/Marvel world where having a regular pair of glasses could make you unrecognisable to everyone, his secret identity wasn't something he took lightly or could risk leaking to intellengence superpowers.

　　 As soon as he arrived home, Mathison quickly locked the doors and windows, then went into his bedroom and, with great anticipation, opened his system.

'Please be something new, I'm almost out of ideas if nothing changes after this.', he prayed.

　　 Immediately, his personal panel appeared and a faint look of disappointment flashed across Mathison's face.

　　 It seemed that as long as you managed to steal treasures, you are able to claim rewards. A stray thought flashed across Mathison's mind of if he could have done this way back in the exhibition hall but that only delayed his enthusiasm by a split second.

Without hesitation, Mathison obviously clicked "Yes".

　　A thick and ancient book appeared in Mathison's hand, the cover covered with weird and mysterious patterns.

　　 This was a Book of Red Magic which seemed to have come from, or was modeled after, magic in "Magic Kaito". It is the magic of the Akako Koizumi's family in that world. This type of magic main function is to temporarily control human emotions and actions. There are other types of magic include in Red Magic, but in smaller quantities.

Red Magic by itself could not really be considered weak. In the duel with the original Kid, whose Mathison's moveset was based on, it showed similar effects to freezing time and space so it should actually be considered quite strong. In fact, at a B-level evaluation, there shouldn't be any Red Magic rewards. At A-level or even S-level, it should still be quite rare to obtain the complete set like this.

　　 However, the limitations of red magic are equally great. For example, you will massive amounts of magic power when you shed tears, the highest level of magic can only be used under the light of a full moon, offensive magic is rare, etc. All of this lowers the overall evaluation of Red Magic in the system, which allowed Mathison to get it at B tier.

　　 When Mathison opened the magic book, he could tell that the book was packed with spells almost every page of the book. There were countless strange drawings and puzzling patterns, and the text in the was in a different language not native to Earth and, upon thinking of its origins, likely not found anywhere else in this universe.

　　 Fortunately, the system had been kind enough to imbue Mathison with the words and language associated with the spellbook, otherwise, it would have taken Mathison a lifetime just to translate the contents.

　　 Of course, learning how to use these spells and accumulate magic power is still something that Mathison had to figure out all by himself...
