Monday Again

Arise and shine! my alarm clock rang out

I got up from the bed and walked into the bathroom to wash up. When I was done, I got dressed and headed downstairs for breakfast.

When I got to the kitchen, I saw the note mum dropped for me

'Baby make sure you eat breakfast before heading to the school. Your dad and I has an important meeting to attend. Stay safe.'

I ate my breakfast in the kitchen and left for school.

I got to the school around 7:45am and lessons commenced by 8:00am. "Good morning students" the Mathematics teacher greeted as he entered into the classroom

"Good morning sir" the class chorused

All the students were feeling euphoric because the Mathematics teacher is funny, easy to get along with and most especially, teaches us very well.

"Our topic today is INDICES. You've learnt this topic before so we'll just treat it as a revision class"

"What are indices?

An index is a small number that tells us how many times a term has been multiplied by itself.

The plural of index is indices." he continued

Below is an example of a term written in index form:

4 is the base and 3 is the index.

We can read this as '4 to the power 3'

Another way of expressing 4³ is

4×4×4=64

Indices can be positive or negative numbers.

The Mathematics teacher explained as he wrote on the board

Soon the bell was rung signifying the end of maths period.

The physics teacher also came in and after his period, the catering teacher taught.

"School life's just too boring" Sophie whined

"I know right?" I rolled my eyes lazily

We didn't go out for lunch break.

"We should just sleep in the class. Oh don't forget to inform Nathan that we won't be going for lunch break today" Sophie suggesed

"I see" Freddy grumbled as he strolled into the classroom

"Speaking of the devil" Sophie sneered

I rested my head on my desk lazily and watched Freddy and Sophie bicker

My stomach rumbled making Freddy and Sophie turn to look at me and immediately they burst out laughing

"I'm fucking hungry" I yelled

Nathan went to the kiosk to buy some snacks for us to eat

Soon lunch break was over

Other teachers taught ang gave us assignments and school closed for the day.

School was too boring today who knows, tomorrow may be interesting.

Immediately I got home, I went upstairs dropped my school bag and freshened up. An hour later, I finished working on my assignments and emailed them to my teachers. Nathan's call came in

"Khloe baby where are you?" he asked immediately the call connected

"I'm home. Any problem?" I asked a lil bit confused

"No problem. It's just that I'm bored. Can we hang out?" He whined

"Where to?" I asked to confirm

"KFC. Get ready, I'll arrive in 10 mins time" he ended the call immediately without giving me the opportunity to decline

Nathan arrived exactly in time and I sent mum a text informing her of my whereabouts before we headed for KFC

I came back home by 6pm and met my parents in the living room watching TV

"Good evening dad, good evening mum" I curtsied

"Good evening dear. Where's Nathan? mum asked

"He's on his way home. He sent his regards and promised to drop by next time" I replied

"Ok dear. Go freshen up and come back for dinner" mum instructed

I ran upstairs like a kid that was being bribed with candy

"Be careful princess!" dad called out .
