Chapter 55 Returning home.

The prince left Terran space two days later after establishing diplomatic relations and trade agreements.

The Elani empire's new ambassador would be sent to earth as soon as he returned and gave a report to his mother.

For now he had another problem.

He couldn't sleep because every time he fell asleep he saw those terrifying human eyes.

Darun started to seriously worry about his best friend,he really didn't want Irio to die and at the same time he wanted for his sister to be happy and the only way to get the best of two worlds would be to cancel the duel.

That however was almost impossible as Irio was the challenger and if he backed out then he would lose a lot of face.

On the other hand Alesia was in love with a human and that human was an admiral who earned his rank in a short time not to mention that he was extremely dangerous.

The prince had an opportunity to watch the training that the crew of the Thanatos did and he was terrified at the intensity and brutality of their hand to hand combat training.

He decided that he had to at least try to persuade his friend to cancel the fight.

When he returned to the palace a few days later he went straight to the throne room to make his report.

-Empress Mother I have returned and my mission was successful.

He said kneeling to greet his mother.

-Get up and tell me what you saw in the Terran space.

She ordered.

-Your majesty,the Terrans are just as industrious or even more than what the fifth princess reported.

They have a great space station and hundreds of war ships adding to that there are system defenses almost everywhere in their system.

During my stay on their station there were dozens of diplomats from across the sector. Also the merchant association opened a guild there.

Another matter is that they now have four colonies outside their system and are planning to colonize another five systems in the near future.

The worst of it is that they only started all this around two of their years ago.

The prince reported.

-This is impossible,what did they manage to do in around four of our years,what took our empire over four hundred years.

The prime minister said in shock.

Truth be told, everyone was shocked at what the first prince said.

-I saw with my own eyes as their cruiser class warship was finished and before I departed the framework for another one was nearly finished.

They have a dreadnought that is way bigger and more powerful than any ship we have in our fleet.

And we will soon have the opportunity to welcome it into our empire.

The prince said what he saw.

-Why would their dreadnought visit our empire?

The empress asked.

-Because the human that the Fifth princess fancies is an Admiral now and he already has permission from their Council to come for a visit.

I also had given him a transponder so that there would be no misunderstandings.

The prince answered.

-And what about the duel?

The prime minister asked.

-To be honest i wish That this challenge was never issued, prime minister but the human accepted it.

He also said that he will get here as soon as his duties allow him to get it over with.

Everyone was shocked once again.

Irio Xanzi was one of their best warriors so why would this human want to face him in combat? Unless…

-Your highness means to say that this human is not afraid of one of our best warriors?

One of the ministers asked.

-That's right,and he has no reason to be afraid,if you had seen what i have seen when i watched the humans train then you would also come to the same conclusion.

-Enough about the duel, that another matters all together.

The empress cut in.

-What about the rest of their fleet?

She asked.

-They have a mighty fleet but they don't want to use it for conquest.

There is enough space for them to expand without any wars and also they need such a mighty fleet to keep the pirates at bay and to make anyone dumb enough to attack them think twice before they do something stupid.

The Terran fleet is actually around 10% smaller than our own but they are still building new ships at an astonishing speed.

The prince answered.

-Then what about their economy?

The empress asked.

-Right now they just entered an interstellar market but their home economy is very strong as they managed to practically eliminate hunger and poverty from their society.

-And their ground forces?

Empress asked.

-They have hundreds of millions of soldiers and hundreds of types of war machines.

Not to mention another hundreds of millions of civilians that they can draft and train to become soldiers.

He answered.

The empress wanted that information just to be sure that the Terrans were strong enough to be equal to her own empire and worthy of an alliance.

Now she knew that they were a little weaker but in the near future they will be the stronger ones so she had to make the alliance as soon as possible to be taken seriously in the future. 

And what better opportunity to start an alliance than a marriage of her daughter and a Terran admiral.

-What's the status of our embassy in Terran space?

She asked.

-Everything is ready, all we need to do is to send the ambassador.

The prince answered.

-Great work my son,you did well, now go and rest while we discuss your report and our future plans.

-Yes,empress mother.

With those words he turned around and exited the throne room.

However he couldn't just go to rest as his siblings caught him immediately and he was questioned again.

He was happy that Alesia was sent to negotiate some deal on another planet or she would certainly interrogate him about Simon.

Darun had to admit that he liked that human and his sister sure knew how to pick a great guy for a husband.
