“Why?” Julio’s eyes widened.
“You’ll find out soon enough. Dr. Artis says you’re not doing your exercises. Tomorrow morning, I’ll come and make sure you do them. Donal will be home early next week. You want to be walking by then so you don’t worry him. In the meantime, let me carry you back downstairs. Dr. Artis wants to change your medication. You need a different antibiotic to clear up some leftover infection. Also, some additional pain medication and an antidepressant will help you feel better.”
“Okay. I hurt, but I don’t want to cancel lunch. I’ll do the exercises in the morning and try to walk the gallery.”
“What you’ll do is wait for me and do the exercises under my supervision.”
Etienne watched Dr. Artis gave Julio a once over. “That would be for the best.” The doctor patted Etienne’s shoulder. “I’m going to write those scripts.” Etienne nodded.
Julio moved, and he grimaced. Sweat beaded on Julio’s brow.
