Xiao Yun's father laid Wang Xiao down on his bed. Xiao Yun's mother used any spare clothes she could find to wipe down his body and wrap up his wounds. For now, he was in stable condition.

Xiao Yun's father left the house and went to the village chief for an explanation. He later returned with a bitter expression.

"Father, what happened? Did you make Wei Yang pay for what he did to Brother Wang?" Xiao Yun asked her father as soon as he returned.

Xiao Yun's father sighed heavily before explaining, "The village chief punished Wei Yang lightly. Although I'm unsatisfied, there is nothing I can do. Besides… Wei Yang proposed to me asking for your hand in marriage right after his punishment." Xiao Yun's father looked at Xiao Yun apologetically.

"I don't want to marry him, I want to… marry Brother Wang!" Xiao Yun firmly declared whilst blushing.
