This is my first ever novel, and I have always loved reading novels that made me feel an emotion, be it a sad one or an excited one. So, while writing this novel, I wrote some of the chapters with the sole purpose of making the reader feel the same emotion that I felt while writing it. Sometimes, I had to stop writing to wipe my tears away. ;-; Anyway, I hope you enjoy my first novel!

Marquess Harry

Marquess Harry woke up like any other day, next to his wife, in a comfortable, soft bed that had pillows made of silk.

His room had golden decorations everywhere because he liked to flaunt his wealth whenever he had someone visit his mansion.

Compared to Baron Levy, Marquess Harry was an irredeemable piece of human trash. On top of that, he was also ugly. This didn't mean that all ugly people were evil, but Harry was both.

He was fat, and because he was bald, he tried to at least grow out a black moustache so that he wouldn't look like an egg, but that also didn't quite work because his moustache was thin, uneven, and small, which made him the opposite of what a gentleman looked like.

Harry also liked to gamble his money, and if he lost, he would blackmail the casino or threaten them with his power.

Another thing he liked to do was drink a lot of alcohol, but he didn't do drugs because he was scared that he would die if he became addicted to them.

Sometimes, he would kidnap random civilian girls on his carriage rides through the city, and after forcing himself on them, he would throw them away.

His wife knew about this, but if she were to speak up to her husband, she would be kicked out of the beautiful mansion they lived in, so she remained silent.

Harry had two daughters, and they were both spoiled brats. They didn't love their father and only used him as a human wallet whenever they wanted to buy something. His wife had also never loved him because she was forced into their marriage by her parents.

The maids inside Harry's mansion would often change because he would always abuse them, and once he got bored of them, he would throw them away. None of the servants liked him, but they needed the money, so they clenched their teeth and continued working.

Getting up from his bed, Harry walked towards the dining hall.

On his way there, he saw a maid cleaning a window, so he slapped her ass and laughed.

The maid remained silent and didn't resist because she knew that if she were to anger her master, he would beat her black and blue.

Continuing his walk, he then entered the dining hall, where he sat down to eat.

He usually ate alone because none of his family members wanted to spend time with him.

The cook brought him an omelet, and even though Harry was a noble, he started chewing with his mouth open as if he didn't know what manners were.

BANG

Suddenly a butler burst into the dining hall, interrupting Harry's breakfast.

"Marquess! I bring important news!"

Hearing the butler's shouts, Harry stood up without wiping his mouth and came up to the butler.

SLAP

He slapped him, making him fall to the ground, and the butler started to prostrate himself before Harry, with his face on the ground.

"You fucking bastard! Even if it was the end of the world, you still wouldn't have the right to interrupt my meal! Do you understand, you fucktard?!"

Harry started shouting at the butler as saliva and pieces of food kept flying out of his mouth.

"Y- Yes Marquess. I am so sorry."

The butler apologized, but instead of forgiving him, Harry placed his foot on the butler's head to feel even more superior.

"Now tell me what happened."

Crossing his arms and looking down, Harry smirked.

"It is Levy, sir."

"Levy?"

Marquess Harry suddenly frowned as if he were reminded of a bad memory.

But then he remembered how he made that lucky bastard eat his perfect family, and with a smile, he looked at the butler.

"So? What about him?"

"Yes well. The assistant that would always feed him poison reported to us that Levy had died during the night, and he found him dead this morning."

Not lifting his head because he couldn't, the butler answered with a quiet voice.

"Finally! Finally, that bastard died!"

With Levy's death, Harry was sure that nobody would ever know that it was him who turned Levy into a monster. The men he hired to shackle Levy's family were already killed by his knights five years ago, after all.

"That is great news indeed!"

Harry laughed, but his foot hadn't left the butler's head yet.

"Yes, yes!"

The butler kept nodding, hoping that the Marquess wouldn't punish him because he was suddenly in a good mood.

Unfortunately for the butler, he just had to choose to work for the biggest piece of shit in the entire city.

"Guards take this kneeling bastard away and whip him fifty times."

Harry coldly ordered and went back to eating his breakfast.

The butler, who was just trying to deliver important news to his master as soon as possible, was suddenly being dragged away to be whipped.

But he didn't scream because he knew that it would only make the Marquess increase the number of whippings he would have to receive.

Harry then finished his food with a smile and went to take a ride through the city.

He had a schedule that he would always abide by. The only time his day wasn't monotonously planned was a day when a party was being held, but today was not a day like that.

Riding through the city, he was headed to a casino.

'That bastard finally died, which means my luck must be really high today!'

With that thought, he looked outside the carriage, hoping to spot a woman he could take advantage of.

Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, he didn't spot anyone he liked, so once he arrived at the casino, he entered and started gambling.

He played blackjack, but he lost every game. Leaving the casino, though, he became even richer than when he entered.

That was because he used his power like every day to threaten the casino owner and force him to give him all the money that he had lost plus more because he wanted to feel like he had won.

After that, Harry returned to his mansion to have lunch, and when he entered, he noticed that his daughters and wife were already eating, so he joined them.

Sitting down, a maid gave him his food, but he frowned when he looked at the plate.

It was because the plate had only a slab of raw meat and some pig's blood poured on top.

"What is this?"

He asked the maid.

"This is a delicacy from the Beastmen Empire, sir."

She answered with a bow, and Harry's older daughter looked at his father.

"It is really delicious, father. You should try it!"

Harry looked at his daughter, who had blood all over her face because she was eating the meat with her hands.

Finding it a little weird, he picked up the meat and bit into it.

"Not bad."

Contrary to his previous thoughts, the meat didn't taste bad, so he also grabbed it with both of his hands and began devouring it.

---

After lunch, he sat down in his office, but he had servants that would do all the paperwork, so he only had to write a few signatures or check invitations to noble parties there.

A butler that had previously been sent to be whipped entered the office and, with a bow, gave Marquess Harry some envelopes.

"This many?"

Harry raised an eyebrow because the butler delivered ten envelopes when it would normally be around two or three per day.

"Yes sir."

"Hmm…"

The Marquess opened one of the envelopes, but when he read what was written on the paper inside, his eyebrows furrowed.

"I know what you have done? ...Is this a joke?"

He turned to the butler, but after he noticed that the butler was also clueless about the letters, he tried opening more of them.

"You will be held responsible."

"Curse you."

"You don't deserve to live."

The more letters Harry read out loud, the more his hands started to shake.

"Who did this?!"

After finally having enough, he turned to glare at his butler.

"I don't know, sir. I found these envelopes in the mailbox and brought them to you."

But the butler only shook his head while bowing, not wanting to be whipped twice in one day.

"Burn them! Don't let anybody see them!"

Harry threw the letters at his butler while shouting.

So, the butler picked them all up and left the office to go burn them.

"Is it possible for someone to really know? No, that's impossible! But what if…"

The seed of doubt had been planted inside Harry's mind, and he started to fear that someone knew about what he had done to Levy.

Harry had done a lot of bad things, but he had the support of the third prince, so nobody could speak up against him.

Though, if people were to find out what he had done to Levy, then not even the prince would be able to help him.

Huffing with rage, he noticed that there was one more letter that he had previously missed.

It was decorated with golden threads, and it looked a lot more beautiful than the previous ones.

Opening it, he discovered that it was an invitation to a noble party that would be held tomorrow, and according to the letter, the third prince would also attend.

After reading it, Harry left it on his desk and went outside his office to find a maid, so that he could blow off some steam.

---

After having his way with a young maid that he fired right after, he was on his way to have dinner.

Sitting down at the table, he was eating with his family again, and this time the food was raw red fish.

It had a red sauce around it that looked like blood, and looking around the table, Harry saw his daughters and wife greedily eat it like it was the best food they had ever had.

But seeing his wife tear the flesh, which made the red sauce spill on the table and all over her mouth, made him gag.

After reading those letters, he automatically imagined that it was human meat, and his wife was feasting on it in happiness.

"I- *Hup* I won't have dinner today!"

He almost threw up, but Harry held it in and quickly ran to his room.

His family didn't try to stop him because they didn't care if he was sick or not.

Harry thought that with a good night's sleep, he would feel better, so he laid down in his bed and went to sleep early.

---

Knock Knock Knock

He was woken up in the middle of the night and noticed that it was already late.

His wife was sleeping next to him, but he thought that he heard someone knocking on his window.

Slowly getting up from his bed and taking a lantern that was on his bedside table, he walked up to the window.

First, he noticed that there was a red text that looked like it was written in blood, so he held up the lantern to read it.

"I will never forget or forgive."

As he read it, Harry felt a cold shiver go down his spine, and goosebumps appeared on his skin.

He then noticed that someone was standing behind the window.

Slowly lifting the lantern up, he shone it on the person's face to see who it was, but upon discovering the person's identity, his eyes widened in shock.

"L- Levy?"

Standing there was Levy, with his eyes wide open and a teeth-showing smile. He had blood around his mouth, and pieces of flesh were stuck in his teeth.

The person that Harry thought had died this morning was standing outside his bedroom window while staring at him.

"AAAAHHHHH!!! GUARDS!!!"

Harry threw the lantern away and fell on his ass. The lantern shattered, and as it was the only source of light Harry had, the room turned completely dark.

When the guards heard a scream, they quickly entered the room, and Harry's wife, who had been woken up by the scream, was shivering in the bed because she thought that someone had finally sent an assassin to kill her husband.

She didn't care about him dying, but she wouldn't want to get caught up in the fight because she wouldn't be able to inherit the mansion if she were to also die.

"He is here to kill me! Outside the window!"

The guards found the Marquess Harry shivering while screaming in fear on the ground, but looking around the room with their lanterns, they didn't find anyone.

They even looked outside the window, but there was nobody there, and the balcony that it was connected to was also empty.

So the guards helped the Marquess back to his bed and decided to guard his room very closely that night.

Unknown to them, the Levy, whom Harry had seen, had already left, and he didn't plan to return again because he had already done what he came there to do.

He wasn't there to harm anyone because all he wanted to do was plant a seed of terror inside Harry's fragile mind and wait for the seed to slowly corrode it from the inside.
