"HAHAHA! Very nice!"
Erelith got up from his seat and went to pat Finn's shoulder with a smile.
Now that he knew that Finn wouldn't be interested in his young daughter, his sour mood immediately disappeared, and only gratitude for helping his daughter remained.
Fae also got up and ran to Finn's side.
She pushed her father away and looked at Finn with her tiny hands on her hips, trying to look threatening.
"No! I told brother that he isn't allowed to have a girlfriend!"
Finn laughed awkwardly at the way Erelith and Fae's moods changed as soon as he said one sentence.
He grabbed Fae and placed her on his lap.
"Fae. I think of you as my adorable little sister that I want to protect."
Finn patted her with a smile on his face.
"Me having a girlfriend doesn't mean that I won't spend time with you, so you don't have to worry about that, okay?"
"…Okay."
Fae was mostly afraid that if Finn were to find himself a girlfriend, he would forget about her, but if he kept spending time with her, she wouldn't mind Finn having a girlfriend.
Finn noticed that Fae was still a little sad, so he decided to comfort her.
"Do you want to know why you are so special to me, Fae?"
Fae looked at Finn and tilted her head while trying to think of something.
"Because I am a princess!"
After a few seconds, she shouted out an answer.
"Well, that too, but I meant something else..."
He awkwardly smiled and looked at Fae with gentle eyes.
"It is because I have never had any siblings, but I always wanted one. That's why I am so happy to finally have a little sister as cute as you."
Erelith and Lusha smiled, and they finally understood that Finn didn't have any ulterior motives.
Fae placed her small fists on her hips and raised her nose in pride.
"Hm! Hm! That's right! Only I am cute enough to be Finn's sister!"
"Pffftt… Hahaha!"
Finn started laughing while patting her silver hair, and even Fae's parents started chuckling at Fae's statement.
Once they all finished laughing and Erelith sat back down, he looked at Finn, who still had Fae sitting on his lap, refusing to move.
"I want to give you a reward for saving my daughter."
'Here it comes!'
Finn was excited because there were two main reasons he went to the Elvish continent.
His first and most important goal was to save Fae. And his second goal was to get something that belonged to the royal family of the elves.
But he couldn't just straight up be like, "I want this!" because that would make him look like he only saved Fae for an item, which he didn't, so he decided to play it smart.
"Then I want to be able to freely move around the Elvish continent, and I want to bring my girlfriend here too."
Finn immediately thought of a reward he could get, but that wasn't the thing he wanted the most.
"No problem. We will allow you and your girlfriend to go anywhere you want. You are a human, but with my permission, not even the nobles can stop you. But I already planned to do that before you asked, so choose something else."
Already planning on granting that, Erelith felt like the reward deserved to be something better because it was his daughter who was saved.
Finn then acted like he was in thought, and Fae noticed that he was struggling to think of something, so she tried to help him.
"How about we give brother Finn Yggdrasil's twig or the Elvish tear?"
When Finn heard that, he immediately started to thank Fae in his head for assisting him because the item he wanted was the Elvish tear.
It was a ring that could change the user's appearance into that of another humanoid creature.
An orc could become a dwarf and a peasant could become a king.
It changed the wearer's face, bone structure, voice pitch, everything.
But it wouldn't give the wearer any of the abilities or powers of the person he transformed into.
If Finn changed into Chronos, he would look like an old man, but that was it. The ring copied outside appearances, not inside powers, because that would be too overpowered.
In Finn's previous life, no player had ever used this item. It was used by Fae, who had begun massacring humans, and she used it to confuse assassins that were sent to kill her.
When she committed suicide later on, she hid the ring somewhere, and no one had managed to find it since.
The second item Fae mentioned, Yggdrasil's twig, was an item that Finn had never heard of, so even he didn't know what it was.
"Fae. I understand that you think well of Finn, and I do too, but those two items are our family treasures, so we can't just give them away."
Erelith shook his head at Fae's idea, but Lusha joined in the conversation to support Fae.
"Finn saved Fae's life, darling. If there were one hundred situations where I would be forced to choose between a precious item or Fae's life, I would never choose an item over my daughter."
Erelith looked at his wife, a little surprised to hear her support Finn's side, and with a sigh, he also agreed.
"…I understand, but only one item. I cannot give him both."
Fae was happy that her father agreed, and she turned to look at Finn, who was surprised that he didn't even have to open his mouth for Erelith to agree.
Finn was interested in learning more about the Yggdrasil's twig, but he refrained from succumbing to greed and went with his initial desire.
"Then I want the Elvish tear, please!"
His enthusiasm was surging through his voice, but Erelith just looked at Finn with his eyebrows raised.
"Do you even know what it is or what it does?"
There was no way for the current Finn to know, so he said what someone without any memories of the future would say.
"Nope!"
"…"
This made Erelith speechless, and Lusha chuckled because she had never seen her husband like that.
Erelith then explained that it was a silver ring with a blue gem, and he explained its abilities, which Finn already knew.
The information that Finn remembered from his past life was found in the Elvish royal library when the humans won the war and went to plunder the Elvish cities.
Once Erelith had explained everything, he asked Finn if he still wanted it, and Finn vigorously nodded his head.
Calling a guard whose armor looked a lot better than what a regular guard wore, Erelith told him to bring something, and the guard soon came back with a silver box that had a beautiful leaf pattern on it.
Erelith then handed the box to Finn, and Finn let Fae open it because she was also excited to see the precious ring that was normally locked up in the treasury.
The ring was silver in color, and the metal looked like intertwined branches. One part of the ring had branches growing out of it, and they held an azure gem that was reflecting the light in the dining hall.
Finn put the ring on his right ring finger, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
He was then surprised to see a unique ability on the status screen.
Name: Elvish tear
Rank: A+
Ability: The user can change his appearance into that of a humanoid creature, but he won't get any of the subject's abilities.
(Unique ability unlocked): Because a player is wearing this ring, he will be able to change his appearance into that of any bird from the Earth.
Description: An elf woman once begged the gods to make her more beautiful than the other elves. She begged for years until the gods finally decided to grant her wish, and she became the most beautiful elf in the entire world.
But her family and friends didn't recognize her, and she was constantly being harassed by other men, so she cried to the gods to change her back, but they didn't listen to her anymore.
In the end, she chose to take her own life, and her tears transformed into a ring that can change a user's appearance.
"This is a powerful artifact that has always been treasured by our family."
Finn raised his eyes from the ring when he heard Erelith speak.
"If used by a wicked person, it can cause chaos, destruction, and numerous deaths. It can be used for unspeakable acts of evil, but I believe in you, which is why I decided to give it to you, Finn."
"Thank you."
Finn nodded, and Erelith's serious face changed into a smile.
"Now that we have that out of the way, let us feast."
Erelith clapped his hands, and elf maids started entering the dining hall, bringing various dishes with them.
Most of the dishes were made from monster meat or plants that didn't exist on Earth, so Finn was clueless about everything on the table.
Fae also went back to her seat that was next to Lusha because she didn't want to inconvenience Finn's lunch by sitting on top of him.
Is what she told Finn, but it was because Lusha threatened to not give her desert if she didn't go back to her seat.
Lusha was happy that Fae and Finn were affectionate with each other, but she wanted Fae to act like a lady because she was to become a queen in the future.
Finn tried a lot of different dishes, but the one he liked the most was fried meat covered with red sauce and garnished with yellow tomato-looking vegetables.
He didn't know which monster the meat belonged to, nor did he know what the sauce was made of. Hell, the only thing he did know was that it was edible, but it tasted really good, so he ate it until he was full.
---
After the lunch was over, Fae excitedly got up from her seat and went to sit on Finn's lap again.
"The Starry Night Festival will be held in a few days."
Lusha casually mentioned because she noticed that nobody was talking, and she didn't mind leading the conversation.
"The Starry Night Festival?"
Finn stopped patting Fae and looked at Lusha with intrigue.
"Yes, it is celebrated to thank the Goddess of Stars, Asteria, for watching over us during the night."
Lusha explained with a smile, and Finn realized that she must have been talking about the goddess he had met before.
She also invited Finn to join them during the festival, and he quickly agreed.
Since he had never experienced a festival like this in his previous life, he was thinking of bringing Sophie to experience it with him.
After their talk, Finn excused himself and, after asking for directions to the bathroom, he left the dining hall.
---
Entering the bathroom, he suddenly felt like the space around him was twisting and bending.
He looked around, but he couldn't see anyone, and before he could even come up with a theory of what was happening, his body turned into small light particles and disappeared.
Creak
After Finn disappeared, Fae entered the bathroom, but she couldn't see Finn anywhere.
She came to check on him because she was afraid that he would get lost in the huge palace.
"I knew it! He got lost! But don't worry, big brother. I will find you!"
Fae closed the door and ran into the hallway with the intention of searching the palace and finding where Finn was hiding.
---
Meanwhile, Finn opened his eyes and realized that he was in the same space that he had previously met the three gods in.
He saw what the teleportation looked like this time because the last time he came there, he was knocked out.
Raising his head, Finn's eyes landed on the same beautiful table with six chairs, but this time there weren't only three gods like before.
This time, there were all five powerful gods sitting around the table.
Some were sipping on a cup of tea, but they were all collectively looking at Finn, who was still on the ground, unable to figure out the reason he was forced into this space again.
Suddenly the God of Time, Chronos, who looked like a kind old man, opened his mouth.
"Welcome back, Finn. There are two more of us here this time, but nonetheless, the reason why we called you here remains the same."
He rubbed his gray beard with his right hand and smiled at Finn.
"We believe that you had enough time, so we have called you here to choose a god that you want to be the champion of. Come sit down and tell us your answer."
Finn, who was hoping that they didn't call him because of the championship, was mortified.
He had hoped that they would give him at least a year, but it seemed that they were impatient to hear his decision.
Slowly standing up while supporting himself with his shaky arm, Finn walked to the round table with short steps.
Once he sat down on the chair while being faced with the five strongest godly beings, he gulped down his saliva and slowly parted his trembling lips.
