A secret pathway.

I opened my eyes gently and behold, it was Xi Shi who was busy draining the cloth soaked in water. She squeezed it tightly without noticing that I had woken up.

"Hua! You're awake!" she said excitedly, just as she was about to place the tightly squeezed cloth on my forehead. She soon dropped it back inside the bowl of water on the table beside my bed.

"For how long have I been lying down here?" I asked weakly, with my hand on my chest. She helped me to get up and finally sat down on the bed, resting my back against a pillow.

"This is the second day. Senior disciple asked me to look after you yesterday, and you didn't regain consciousness until now," she replied as she continued massaging my forehead.

"Since yesterday? I must have been very sick," I said, placing my hand on my forehead to feel my temperature.
