Chapter 1Backstory (1) (Edited)

The first backstory chapters are a bit trashy (scratch that they are trash) but after that I guarantee you that you won't be dissapointed:)

I HIGLY recommend that you read the info bin ( auxiliary chapter) before this for some background.

---------------------------------------------------------

At the End of Time

A void stretched endlessly in all directions, the abyss of nothingness punctuated only by jagged white crack, remnants of a universe torn asunder.

The air, if it could even be called that, was heavy, thick with echoes of destruction. There was no ground, no sky—only emptiness leaving behind the last two beings left within it.

A frail, bloodied figure in flowing white robes hovered in the shattered remnants of existence. His once radiant presence slowly dimmed, his divine glow flickering like a dying candle. Across from him stood another being—tall, covered in shadows, exuding a presence so thick it felt as if it could crush what little remained of the empty universe itself.

"The God of Slaughter, wasn't it?"

The old man coughed, thick streams of golden blood spilling from his lips. Even now, on the edge of death, he chuckled, shaking his head.

"You truly do live up to your name. Not only did you defeat me… even death itself bows before you."

His voice wavered as he continued, "After she died, you—"

*CRACK!*

Before he could finish his sentence, the dark figure's hand shot forward, gripping the old man's throat. A pressure unlike any mortal force bore down on the god, threatening to snuff out what little life he had left.

"Don't," the figure growled, his voice having a fragile undertone with something beneath the rage.

"Don't say her name."

The old god wheezed but still managed a dry chuckle. "Still can't speak of her, can you? Even after all this time?"

He rasped, forcing himself to smile despite the pain. "my old bones still have some fight left in them… Now, now, can't you let an old man have his last words? I promise they'll be worthwhile. We have all the time in the wor—ah, no, the universe one could say." He let out a laugh, one that turned into a dry cough as more blood splattered onto his robes.

The dark figure said nothing, but after a moment, his grip loosened ever so slightly. A silent permission.

The god inhaled shakily before gesturing at the ruined void surrounding them. "Look around you, once it was a universe—full of life, stars, and infinite possibilities. Now, all that remains are these shattered pieces. A pitiful sight, don't you think?"

The figure remained impassive. "And?"

"As its creator, I cannot allow this universe to simply cease. It is my duty to see it reborn." His dimming eyes met the shadowed figure's own. "I must ask of you, what sin has it to warrant such destruction.... At least give it a chance to be reborn... As something better."

The silence that followed was deafening.

"No."

A sigh left the old man's lips, more resigned than surprised. "I thought as much." He wiped the blood from his chin with a shaking hand.

"you've always been like that after all, why should you care for a world that betrayed you? A world that took everything from you?"

The dark figure's hands clenched into fists, the faintest tremor in his stance. "Get to the point, old man."

"You're still as impatient as ever," the god mused, his gaze unfocused as if lost in a memory. "Even after time untold, your nature hasn't changed." He exhaled, his body seeming smaller than before. "Fine, I'll tell you a story—a history lesson, if you will."

He looked beyond the void, as if seeing something long gone. "Before time itself, I slumbered, purposeless, for eons. And then, I created life. Six children—two daughters, four sons—each imbued with a fragment of my divine spark. I divided this emptiness into six universes, letting them shape their own domains. I took the back seat, watching as they created and nurtured life."

He turned back to the figure cloaked in darkness. "Your wife—my daughter—was the guardian of this universe. Her demise, and our battle, have left this place in ruin. But there may still be a way."

For the first time, the dark figure stirred. "…What?"

"The Law of Life," the god continued, his voice barely above a whisper. "The essence of creation itself… it resides within my children, each carrying a shard of it within their universe. If you can gather them, perhaps—"

*CRACK!* The void itself trembled as the dark figure's aura surged. His voice, once controlled, was now desperate. "Is what you're saying true?" His hands balled into fists so tightly that blood dripped from his palms.

"Each and every one of them.bring them to me. NOW."

The old god's expression turned pained. "If only it were that easy," he admitted. "I am but a fragment of what I once was. Even if I had the strength, they wouldn't come."

The figure's jaw clenched. "Then create portals. I'll hunt them down myself."

The old god let out a bitter chuckle. "And why would I do that? So you can kill them too?" His golden eyes bore into the shadowed figure's. "I will open the way for you, but only if you agree to my conditions."

The dark figure remained silent, but his aura crackled with barely contained fury. "…Speak."

The god raised a trembling finger, listing them one by one. "First, from this moment on, you will never again kill an innocent being The only exceptions are those with evil in their hearts."

"Second, you must learn to move on child.... even she wouldn't want to see you end up this way."

"Third, everything you have gained—your power, your strength, your dominance—will be stripped away. The only things you may keep are your mind, your instincts, and your experience. You will rebuild from nothing."

"Fourth, in each universe, you will not take over it by force. You must convince my children to willingly part with their shards of life. Only then will the path to the next universe open."

The old god exhaled, exhausted. "That's it. Now, Kane—do you accept these conditions?"

The dark figure trembled, his entire being radiating barely contained rage. His fists unclenched, then clenched again. A long, suffocating silence passed before he spoke, his voice raw. "Old man… I don't know what you're scheming. But if there's even a chance you're telling the truth—" His fingers dug into his palm again. "Then I accept."

The old god's gaze softened. "I see." He gave a weary smile. "Then you won't be alone. Someone will accompany you—a friend of mine. Be wary… who knows he may be even stronger than you."

A white crack split the void, expanding into a swirling portal, its glow pulsating with untold possibilities.

"Go."

Kane hesitated for only a moment before stepping forward. Just before he vanished into the light, he turned back. "This is the last you'll see me."

The old god only smiled. "Be careful. The void is… quite the rollercoaster." He let out a dry chuckle.

Kane disappeared.

The old man was left alone, his divine body flickering, fading.

"Elissa… I failed you," he murmured. "I couldn't raise him the way you wanted." His voice cracked. "I'm sorry."

Tears fell freely as he pressed a trembling hand to his chest.

"My children… I am sorry. But this may be the last time we meet."

With one final breath, he reached into his own chest, tearing out his heart. As it shattered, a wave of light exploded outward, igniting the ruined universe once more.

Across the multiverse, five beings shuddered, a deep sorrow gripping their souls.

The game had begun.

Pokemon Alternate Universe Adventures

A man from an Earth gets the choice to start over in any Universe and chooses an Alternate Pokemon Universe. Let us see if his journey to the top is succesful and the impact he will have on his new world. Pokemon is owned by Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. I just use their sandbox for the plot of my MC and my OCs. This will be a "slow" paced story, in fact it's "super slow paced", so please don't expect the MC to directly start his journey in 20 chapters or so, actually multiply that by like 15. A lot is going to happen before that happens. The first 10-20 chapters or so are information heavy, depending on what kind of reader you are. I try to keep my chapter length between 2000 and 3000 words per chapter. My release rate is 4 chapter/week for now. I have a patre*n for those that want to support me with access to some advance chapters as a thank you. patre*n.com/Azrail93 This is an alternate pokemon universe so there will be differences to the games, manga and anime. So if something in the story is different it is most likely on purpose. The original sources are seen as suggestions not laws. Differences can be: Type variants, evolution conditions, strength mechanics, world building and more. If I am at some point asking for reader input I will do so but otherwise I will ignore most suggestions. So please don't spam things like catch this pokemon or do that next. I have my plot planned and external input will be considered when asked for. If I see a suggestion that I believe fit my plot flow I will use it and will credit the commentor. Comments on spelling and grammar mistakes are welcome. I will try to correct said mistakes with time. Constructive criticism will be read and considered. Insult and hate comments will be ignored or deleted depending on severity. Readers naturally can comment their dislike but one worders will be ignored. If the reason for the dislike is explained I will read it. Like previously mentioned pure insults and hate comments will be ignored or deleted. The same is true for simple hate reviews or insulting ones. Reviews complaining about something I warned about, such as the slow pace, will be deleted as well.

Naruto: The Outsider's Resolve

[A Naruto Fan Fiction] Make the best of what you have, they said... But what I am supposed to do when the best I have are red-eyed freaks, a child who's supposed to be the jailor of the most dangerous being in the world, a snake bastard with serious boundary issues, and a whole world of super soldiers with licences to murder. And you know the best part? None of them like me so much... Oh shut it, old man! Take that Will of Fire and shove it up your— Yeah, this second swing at life isn't panning out... --------------------------------------------------------------- What to expect: - Gradual strength progression. Meaningful growth. The MC is a normal guy dumped into the Narutoverse, starts out weak and has to work and struggle for everything he gains. - "Slow" paced. My writing style is a zoomed-in look camera that follows the protagonist. It might seem slow, but I ensure something is always happening to progress the plot forward. - Gritty and often bloody fights and actions scenes with a focus on taijutsu—you'll see individual combat, team fights, and large-scale battle. - A different take on the Narutoverse. The world is full of superhuman mercenaries with liscenes-to-kill—that along with the protagonist's struggles paint the world in a much darker light. - Additions and expansion to the "chakra" power system. I consider myself a conservative when it comes to adapting the power system—and aim to retain the original feel while highlighting the best parts. - The Outsider's Resolve version of Narutoverse uses the [Naruto Manga] as the base—with additions from anime, books, and even Boruto (though very less likely). --------------------------------------------------------------- DISCORD SERVER: https://discord.gg/w5dJ82SfMr --------------------------------------------------------------- PATREON LINK: https://www.patreon.com/fictiononlyreader --------------------------------------------------------------- DECLARATION: This story is also present on: FFN, Ao3, SpaceBattles, SufficientVelocity, and ScribbleHub RoyalRoad [to be verified] --------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: I don't own any character other than my OCs. The cover pic was commissioned from Kodah.art on Instagram
