Chapter 13: Fairies

Suzielette's POV

"Fairies, I need you."

I opened my eyes and saw that the fairies were already there. Fortunately they came right away. I am really worried about Elisse.

"What do you need, Suzielette?" Fairy Delaney humbly asked me.

"It's my friend, she fainted. I don't know what to do." I told them.

"Wait, do I see it right? Did she ate the enchanted fruit?" Fairy Amara asked.

I was curious about what Fairy Amara said.

"What is the enchanted fruit?" I asked them.

"This is bad, fairies. She'll die sooner." Said Fairy Freya.

"Let's take her to the Fairy Garden to heal her." Fairy Delaney said.

"Delaney that is not allowed, remember? People there are forbidden." Said Fairy Amara.

"It's unlikely that we will just let her die here, right?" Said Fairy Freya.

Fairy Amara sigh and said. "Alright."

We transformed into fairies. Yes, you read it right. I am a fairy. We are fairies.

"After she fully recovered her strength, we will just erase her memories about our place." Fairy Delaney said.

Delaney created a portal and we entered there. After a few moments, we have reached the secret place. The Fairy Garden.

We transformed again into human. The other fairies approached us to help us carry Elisse's body.

"Wait, who's with them?" I heard a fairy whisper. I knew she's referring to Elisse. Delaney explained to them what's happening.

We took Elisse near the waterfalls and laid her under a tree.

"Where is Queen Jameah?" Fairy Delaney asked the fairies.

"She has not returned yet." Answer of a fairy.

"I'm already worried about the Queen." Said Fairy Amara.

"Where did she go?" I asked them. I don't know much about what's going on here at Fairy Garden because I occasionally visit here even though I am a fairy. You may be asking why, but simply the answer is because I'm avoiding the trouble.

"We don't know. She's been missing for a week." Fairy Delaney said.

The Queen is missing?

"Please heal Elisse. We're running out of time." I told them. It looks like her situation is getting worse.

"All right. I'll do what I can." Fairy Delaney said.

Fairy Delaney sat beside Elisse. Her hair turned silver as she whispered something. She touched Elisse on the forehead and her hair returned to blonde. Elisse's hand moved at the same time as her eyes opened.

"Where am I?" She asked confusedly.

"Elisse!" I immediately hugged her.

"What happened?" She asked me and her face was really confused. She does not remember anything?

"The one you ate earlier, it was an enchanted fruit so you fainted." Fairy Freya told her.

"You were poisoned. Enchanted fruit is a poison fruit. It was made as a trap for forest hunters." Fairy Amara said.

So it was a poison fruit. It's a good thing I didn't eat that. We might not have asked for anyone's help if I had eaten it too.

"Be careful with what you eat." Fairy Delaney said.

"Are you... Fairies?" Elisse asked.

Fairy Delaney, Amara, Freya and I looked at each other.

"Yes. We are fairies." Fairy Delaney said.

Elisse's eyes widened and she held my hand.

"Where are we now?" She whispered to me.

"We're at the Fairy Garden." I told her.

"I thought people were not allowed to come here?" She asked again.

"Elisse, you still need to know something." I told her and cup her face.

"What?" She asked. I stood up and stood next to Fairy Freya.

"I'm one of them. I'm a fairy too." I said. Her eyes widened again and dropped her jaw.

"Really?!" She asked.

I nodded. She still could not believe it. Maybe I still need to explain everything to her.

"Hi! I know you already know me because we are in the same class, but let me introduce myself again. I am Freya and I am a wind fairy." Said Fairy Freya.

"I am Amara. I'm a water fairy." Said Fairy Amara.

"And I am Delaney. The nature fairy. I am also a healer." Fairy Delaney said.

"As for me, I'm a fire fairy. Remember what happened in the forest, when you held my hands and you felt warm eventually? It was because of me. I used my power to dry up our clothes." I said to Elisse.

She laughed softly.

"So, you're a fairy? Why didn't you tell me and Venice about that?" She asked.

"Uhm, Venice actually knows I'm a fairy. You're the only one who doesn't know." I said.

"You're unfair." She said at once pout.

"Because it should be a secret. But in order to save your life, you have to be here and even know who I really am." I said.

Elisse's stomach rumbled suddenly.

"Uhm, can I eat?" She asked.

Silly. I know she will ask that.

"Of course. Let's go!" I told her.

We are currently eating inside the Dining Hall of Fairy Castle. Yes, there is also a castle in the Fairy Garden. They serve a lot of food for us. Elisse and I haven't eat anything since last night. Well except she just ate a poison fruit.

I looked at Elisse. Seriously, she looks like a monster when she eats.

"Delicious! I want to stay here!" She says. I just smiled. I am glad we were not too late to save her life.

What I am thinking right now is how we can get back to our school. Headmistress Gazelle might scold us. Is Venice back? Maybe. I mean, she should be back already.

"Hey, you're thinking something deep there, eh." Freya told me.

"No. Maybe." I said.

"Why are you in the Enchanted Forest by the way? You must be at school." Said Freya.

"We got lost. We never got out of the Enchanted Forest. I forgot the way." I said.

"Ah. We have the same problem." She says.

"Why? Were you lost too?" I asked her.

"I don't even know where the way back to school is. I got lost just like you." She says.

"Weird, how come we forgot the way out? But anyway, let's just ask some help from Delaney and Amara." I said.

"No." She says.

"Huh? Why not?" I asked.

"They are not allowed to be away from the Fairy Garden. The Dark Shadows are already there." She says.

"Why are they here?" I asked again.

It's not time yet, is it?

"The Princess is about to turn 18." She says.

"Suzy! Let's go for a walk!" Elisse groaned.

"Next time we'll talk." I told Freya.

Elisse pulled me out of the Fairy Castle. She's really stubborn. We went to the waterfalls. It's nice to see the waterfalls because it's almost sunset. The sky turned orange and it reflects in the water.

"I'm so happy I got a chance to come here!" Said Elisse.

We sat under a tree and looked at the waterfalls. Fairy Garden is really beautiful.

"So... I'm the only one who's different from you." Said Elisse.

"Why did you think of that?" I asked her.

"You and Venice have powers. I'm just a normal person." She says.

"You're wrong. You have powers too." I said.

"Really?" She asked. Her eyes sparkled.

I nodded. "Yes. Your hunger. That is your power."

"You're serious?" She seems annoyed all of a sudden.

"Just kidding, girl. But seriously, you also have powers. It's just undiscovered." I said.

Elisse also has some power. She has not yet discovered it. It seems like the strength of her powers is... Strong. I can feel it.

"How can we go back to school?" She asked.

"We'll find a way out." I said.

Delaney and Amara can't help us either. So, this will be just your own effort. But if we can't get out, we'll be stuck here for the rest of our lives..
