Myrmidon and Dark Mage [3]

After Venetia left, Marth comes back into his mind. He stored her underwear and handkerchief inside the drawer in his room. And yes, he was sneaking suspiciously trying to avoid anyone.

He wiped his body once again and poured a lot of perfumed oil on his body. He also took a new suit from the dresser. All by himself without the help of the maids or servants.

Sometime after ensuring that there was no strange scent or sticky liquid left on his body, he walked to the new research room.

Yesterday the servants had moved all of the bedding and unnecessary furniture in this room. And today was the day when the carpenter brings the new furniture such as table and cabinet.

He wondered, just how fast a carpenter makes this furniture. He ordered just yesterday noon, and the thing already delivered this morning. Did they work overnight? Nevertheless, the new furniture was pretty good. He quite likes it.

Sitting down on the long and soft sofa, one of the few things that were not moved from this room, he oversaw the henchmen that moved back and forth to bring the new furniture. Sometimes telling them to move this and that.

When they finish refurbished the room, he was all alone in this room.

'Hmm ... not bad. Though, I need to wait before I get a hold of the glass equipment. But for now, ceramic bottles will do.'

He experimented with the [Alteration] magic. His goal was to transmute a diamond from charcoal. Yet, there was a major obstacle he needs to overcome before he could do that. And that was insufficient Magic Power.

After conducting numerous trials and experiments, he started to get an initial understanding of how much Magic Power needed to do [Alteration] magic, [Change Molecular Structure].

And for some reason, it was related to the period of an atom on the periodic table. To alter the bond of an atom from the first period, which would be hydrogen because helium was a noble gas, would only need 1 Magic Power per bond.

Thus, if he wanted to disassemble water (H2O) into H+ and O2-. he needed to use two Magic power. No matter how much the water volume is.

He thought that volume and mass of the matter would affect the magic power needed. But when he separates a barrel full of water into H2 and O2, the hypothesis proved to be wrong. To minimize the risk of accidentally exploding the gases, he used [Elemental] magic that makes the temperature of the room dropped.

With that, he got a hold of liquid hydrogen and oxygen. However, when the thing got into his hand ..., he was puzzled about how would he store it. The liquid oxygen and hydrogen went back into gas form and then dispersed throughout the room. The laboratory room becomes foggy and full of dews.

'I really need to make some equipment first.'

He walked out of the foggy laboratory and arrived in the dining room. The room was empty, at the moment the maids were busy preparing dinner. And the servants and soldiers were still working.

He poured cold water and drink it from the silver cup.

"Silver ...,"

He couldn't afford to buy real silver when he was on Earth. As expected from a [Noble] household, every tableware and cutlery on his family was made out of silver and exotic ceramics. All of the expensive stuff that he of the past could only drool and envy.

'Lab equipment huh ..., if only I could make it myself. Wait a moment ...,'

The magic in this world fueled by the power of imagination and the Magic Power of the individual. At first, he thought the right magic word (Spell) was needed but turn out he could do it with any language, as long as the message conveyed.

As long as he could imagine something, and have sufficient Magic Power, theoretically, he could cast any magic. He still unable to make a definite conclusion on how much a Magic Power needed for a spell.

He could cast the [Elemental] magic from each major element with one Magic Power. Even if he cast a [Fire] spell that reached 1800 degrees Celcius(this can melt iron) or cast a [Water] spell that filled an entire pool (about 100,000 liters), the Magic Power consumption still the same when comparing it with tiny candle [Flame] or a cup of [Water]. This means quantity and quality don't change anything on the Magic Power consumption.

As for the [Alteration] magic, the rule was different. It was just like explained on the above, the Magic Power consumption was related to the atomic period. If he added more, it would only make the spell reaction faster.

But the Magic Power consumption was not the main topic he needs to ponder about at the moment. It was the law that governs the magic of this world!

"..., why didn't I make it myself?"

Imagination + Magic Power = Magic

He could change matters from its molecular structure with magic, yet why wouldn't he think that he could change the shape of an object with magic?

'I need to try this... but the right word for that, what would it be ...'

Marth pondered about the spell, and then something popped out on his head.

He imagined a sheet of silver and poured the magic power into the cup. One magic power, two magic power, and when he poured about three units of magic power, he chanted the magic spell.

"Forming"

The silver cup, or presumably a goblet with a diameter of 8 cm and cup height of 6 cm adds that with 4 cm height for the footing and the foothold diameter of 6 cm, this very goblet changed into three-layer of silver sheets. The silver sheet has a dimension of about 10 x 10 cm, and a thickness of about 0,4 cm. It reflected the light with radiant metallic grey just like an unpolished mirror.

'It's work ..., and why is it three-layer instead of one? Could it be ..., it was because I imagined the size as well? Well, it's true that I did imagine the approximation, but ...,'

In other words, one magic power was needed to reshape an object. If he wanted to separate the object into smaller objects ..., then the magic power consumed would be added by the number of products.

This discovery wasn't that amazing, unlike yesterday when he laughed hard like a maniac. He didn't that surprised with this. But, he was glad that he could make his equipment by himself.

"Reno! Rosetta! Maid! Anyone!!" he shouted out of his lung.

After the shout he heard a person hurried footstep, the door opened. An old maid with wrinkled skin arrived.

"Did Young Master called?" she bowed and trying to catch her ragged breath.

Looking at her, Marth somewhat feeling apologetic. To force an old lady like her run across this huge mansion. But he shook his head to let go of that thought and then ordered.

"I need some metal trash, find anything that made from metal even if it's rusty weapon and tools, bring it to the spare guest room. And you don't need to feel rushed, I want the thing tomorrow afternoon."

"Broken tool and weapon, is it? Certainly, Young Master, I'll bring it to you right away."

"Thank you ..."

"Your kind words are enough, Young Master Marth." she bowed while smiling. "Is there anything else you need, Young Master?"

"Nothing in particular ...," he shrugged his shoulder because he didn't need anything, but from the corner of his vision, he saw Sahara and the others in the garden, "Ah, right. Can you call those four slave girls?"

"I will immediately call them. Then, please excuse me." she bowed and left.

He walked back to the study room and waited for his magic power to regenerate. He thought about some other thing.

'If I could change the shape, can't I just make my glass lab equipment? It's cheaper that way. Ah right ..., Is today supposed to be the day Reno departs to Drea?'

And yeah, it's true. It seems that butler Reno joined his father convoy, bringing some of the mansion's soldiers. Two days prior, he asked him to make a trip to Drea, to order glassware from the glass craftsman there. And today was the day when he departed.

'Sigh ..., If only I discovered this some time ago. Right, did I gain new magic with this?'

"Status Window!"

He used the [Appraisal] magic since the last time he appraises himself.

'What ...? I, since when did I level up? And how in the world I level up the skill level? Is it because I use it over and over again it accumulated experience point and then I level up?'

He frowned upon seeing his new status window. Then, he checked the unallocated point by clicking the Level section.

"Just ..., how?"

In the [Golden Ark] a character would gain a bonus point (BP) every level up. The number gained BP was fixed, one.

If it's someone who received the Freudrt's Divine Blessing or any other blessing from the gods/goddesses, then it was upped to two or maybe three. But never in his gaming experience, would a character gain ten BP for every level up!

"Haha ..., ahahaha ..., kuhahahahat!!!" he laughed crazily, just like yesterday when he gained the Alteration Magic, "So this is it? This is my cheat-code? Fuhahahahahat ..., awokwokwokwowk!"

A burst of strange laughter rang across the silent study room. For a moment he laughed like crazy. Because this thing was just too crazy. He got ten BP for every level up! What does this possibly mean?

Bonus Point just like the name was something that a character got as a bonus for level up. When someone level up, the stats would raised randomly. But the bonus point could make a change unto this randomness into something with a pattern.

For example, if someone raised the magic-related stats using the bonus point until he/she at the level 5. Then in the next level up, this person would have a higher chance to raise the magic-related stats.

His stats were abnormal, the magic-related one was too high for a low-level. Even when he thought about it from the perspective of a player. It was almost a cheat-code.

Despite having high INT, MND, and DEX also abnormally high. However, ..., this is very important, so please pay attention. Yes, his Magic Power was very small, it was comparable with the Random Mob A in the first chapter of the game.

And it's true, in this two-level up he gained magic-related stats and not even one physique-related.

But ohh ..., he doesn't need to worry about that anymore. He gained 20 BP! Goddamnit! If it was in the game, then he needs to level up 20 times before gaining this much. How can ..., just how he could gain this much of a cheat BP.

Marth immediately used his BPs. One to the STR, three to VIT, and two to AGL. He spent one point to gain the first entry-level of [Sword] Skill. and the rest to HP and MP. Making the HP 20 and the MP 25.

A refreshing feeling streamed inside his blood vessel. Because of his enlarged Magic Reserve, now he could use more intricate spells that need more Magic Power to power it up. AOE-magic, buff, and debuff magic.

"Kuku ..., kuhukukukuku ...," he laughed wildly once again.

He stopped the laughter upon hearing the faint sound of a footstep from the hallway.

Knock, knock, knock ...,

A knocking sound echoed in the study room not long after.

Tidying his clothes to affirm that there was no strange spot or smell(he still bothered with the thing Venetia left on him this noon). He called them in.

"Come in ..."

The door opened, and the blue-haired Sahara walked in with the other slave girls and one dwarf girl. They all bowed in a perfect 90 degrees angle.

It was Sahara who said, "Master Marth, we've arrived at your calling."

"Umu ..., show me your drawing, Hilda!"

"I have drawn about a quarter from the list you gave me. I-I'm sorry!" she handed the evenly cut paper to him while saying her apologies.

"Don't mind it ..., you don't need to feel pressured. You only have one hand, and this is a long-term project, so you don't need to feel rushed," he said while leaning his back on the armrest and looking her drawing.

Her drawing was really life-like, like seeing a black-white photograph. There were some unknown(fantasy) flora and fauna that didn't exist back on earth. They added some of those in to the list and asked Hilda to drew it.

'This is ..., what a strange creature, it's like a combination of, buffalo but with wooly sheep-like fur?'

"Hmm ..., it's great. Keep the good work, Hilda." he returned the draft to her, and then looked at the brown-short-haired girl, "And Diana, you said you are an apprentice of a herbalist right?"

"Un." Diana nodded her head without any expression revealed on her face.

"I'll give you some money ..., you go to the town and buy herb seeds of any kind. I want you to cultivate a garden of herbs. Well ..., you need to wait for that newly cleared forest to be plowed first, but uhm ..., yeah, you handle the west area."

She showed a troubled expression, but soon changed back into expressionless one and then, "Master Marth, the soil in this land, bad. Herb cultivation, almost impossible." she replied flatly.

Listening to that, he went silent and began thinking about it once again.

'Hmmm ..., this place is a similar climate to that East Europe. Though, I never went there personally. And the soil quality is bad for the herb which required rich-nutrient soil ...,'

"Just now ..., you said almost, right?"

"Yes, almost."

"So it is not entirely impossible to do."

"Yes."

Hearing her answer, Marth once again went into deep thought.

'Although I was working in a fertilizer factory. I'm not that knowledgeable about soil chemistry ..., I've heard that's something related with the pH, meh, I don't know. But again, the different plants required different environments, just like how tropical plants couldn't survive in a taiga ..., and vice-versa.

Herb ..., if I wanted to plant those, then I need an enclosed artificial environment with controlled temperature and humidity. Aiyahh ..., to think that this will be very complicated. Let's postpone it then.'

He shook his head while letting out a wry smile.

"Alright then, forget what I said just now ..., I think it's not the best time to build the garden. Come to my room in the evening."

"..., yes." there was a short pause before Diana answer him.

While sending the slave girls out, he remembers some other minor thing.

'I will train my sword skill with Master Lin in the morning, learn magic from Teacher Nagi at noon, and then teach the slaves the preliminary knowledge in the evening ...'

He took some paper scrolls and then started to write down a rough draft for their curriculum. He divided the course into five main subjects. The course would be held from Montag to Freitag evening for one hour and twenty minutes.

The course he visioned would be Math, Indonesian Language, Physic, Moral and Ethic, and lastly Chemistry.

Math, Physic, and Chemistry were self-explanatory.

Indonesian Language, this was for the sake of encrypting the dangerous knowledge that perhaps led to another great war if it's somehow leaked out.

And lastly the Moral and Ethic, this is the most important of all.

When the time he was at school, there was this popular slogan from the government, it was 'Moral Crisis' and 'Mental Revolution'. It was because, in his country, the Indonesian people started to forget about their past and real self, their own identity.

And some years later, the Minister of Education and Culture changed the country's educational system entirely. The character building and moral education became the first priority and other things become second. It was such bold moves from the minister, but he succeeds, nevertheless.

Though, he never received these benefits because he was already in the college at the time when this policy fully implemented.

He wanted his people to have good moral conduct. It was not to the point of becoming a pawn with absolute obedience. But to be a person with a good ethic and of great tolerance.

He himself wasn't that knowledgeable regarding Social Studies or Politics. But he was someone who was very good at this subject(according to his standard). And he had his share of experience in the organization and got a sufficient grip on how society work(on the place where he lived).

He also wanted them to learn the ideologies of the thinkers of modern earth and ancient earth philosophy. That would help them to open their mind and broadened their viewpoint. And most of all, introducing the Ideology of Five Fundamental Laws.

While concentrating on his paper and arranging the subject he wanted to teach them ..., he didn't realize that there was another person stood behind him.
