Duoluo: The Grandmaster

Duoluo Dalu; Yu Xiaogang

Synopsis:

Waking up in Soul Land world, Yugi found himself in the body of Yu Xiaogang. With the 'trash' farting dog as his spirit, he will strive to break through his own limitation. There's no trash martial soul, there's only trash spirit master.

Chapter 1: Yu Xiaogang

"Hey, ... why so silent? Didn't you want to beat me up? Hah? Didn't you says that there's no good-for-nothing martial spirit, only good-for-nothing spirit master?! Then what are you!? A f*cking trash?" a bulky boy pulled out the collar of a bruised and battered frail boy as he spit out words of provocation.

The bulky boy continued using the frail one as a punching bag, while some of his followers could only watch with mixed expression. Most put on a sinister smile gloating at this very situation, while some put on worried and fearful expression.

"Brother Yuan, let's stop ... if the patriarch found out about this, we're over."

"Heh, alright then ..., my hand's about to get tired anyway. Consider yourself lucky, trash." said the bulky Yu Feiyuan as he discarded the bullied boy who was on the verge of losing his consciousness.

'Where am I? What is this? Why did a bunch of brat's punching me? F*ck! How did I end up in this situation?' the boy wondered as the last bit of his conscious fleeing away from his body.

The boy fainted and as if the heaven itself weep, it started sending a torrential rain on earth. Okay ..., that's too much even if it's a hyperbolic expression, but let's dramatize it a bit alright. It's just a coincident that rain started pouring down right after.

Time passed and it was already nighttime, a Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan clansmen who happen to pass by this alley found the fainted boy.

"Huh, isn't this Young Master Xiaogang?" the clansmen noticed the battered unconscious boy identity after checking his clan insignia.

With that bruise and swollen pig-face, even his own mother might not be able recognize him. The clansmen feels a bit disappointed, seems like it wasn't his lucky day. In the first place, he rummaged his body because he wanted to see whether he could snatch some precious belonging on him.

The clansmen hurriedly brought back the young master to the clan. After getting medical attention, the clansmen notified the patriarch of Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan about this event. However, Yu Yuanzhen just shrugged it off as he stopped caring on what is his failure of a son doing. Even if he ended up death, it might be better off that way as he would stop becoming the shame of the family.

On the next day, 'Yu Xiaogang' woke up. The physician of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan did their best, his delicate face returned and he is as good as new.

"Unfamiliar ceiling." he muttered staring at the ceiling.

'Where is this ... wait, I remember that-'

"Arghhh ..." when he questioned his existence, he recalled everything that this boy has experienced.

Never in his wildest dream that he ever think that he'd get reincarnated into Douluo Dalu world as Yu Xiaogang. Yes, that 'Grandmaster' Yu Xiaogang. The one that tricked Tang San to become his disciple with his famous quote, "There's no trash martial soul, there's only trash spirit master."

He recalled some Chinese MTL fanfic who vilified him and Tang San to the point that he himself believed those two and the male character from Shrek Academy are actually no good characters. In those fanfictions, Yu Xiaogang depicted as hypocrite, conceited, arrogant, and selfish. His ultimate goal is just to prove that he is the world's greatest theorist and to do that, he need to have a disciple with heaven defying talent.

It was full of contradictions, he said those infamous quote but in the end he is a trash spirit master himself. And finding a talented disciple like Tang San to prove his theory. If it's true that there's no trash martial soul, then why he didn't prove it himself by breaking his own limitation and become a Titled Douluo? It wasn't until he ate an Immortal Herb that his Luo Sanpao undergone an evolution and breaking through from the Spirit Grandmaster.

And don't start talking about his convoluted love life with Bibi Dong and Liu Erlong. One thing that is a plus point from Soul Land as a story is the female characters, and those two are just too pitiful. But in his honest opinion as a reader, Yu Xiaogang has no redeeming features aside from his little white face and sophisticated act as a grandmaster.

After reading more of those fanfics, he placed Yu Xiaogang in his list of most hated character in fanfic second only to Yun Che. Below him there are Hiruzen Sarutobi, Professor X, Kanda Sorata, Nie Li, and few others.

Anyway, here's the short recap of Yu Xiaogang's life.

Yu Xiaogang is the son of Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's Patriarch, Yu Yuanzhen. By status, he is the Young Master of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Starting from his early childhood, he was a bright child and since early childhood he was regarded as a little genius. He was the pride of the family and everyone put a high expectation on him. Though, that changed when he awakened his Martial Soul.

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan is a clan where the direct family inherit the bloodline of Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon. The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon is the pinnacle existence among the beast martial souls, with this martial soul it solidated the clan position as the 3 Great Clans in Heaven Dou Empire with Sky Hammer Clan and Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.

However, the likelihood of this martial soul undergone a mutation is far greater than other martial souls. Yu Xiaogang Martial Soul was mutated beyond recognition. His martial soul is a weird dog/hog-like hybrid martial soul, vastly different from the other clansmen. Even Yu Yuanzheng questioned whether this kid is his own.

After that martial soul awakening, his life was simply hell. He got beaten up out of blue by other kids, and only when his life got endangered that the adults interfere. That's it, it's been three month since he got awakened as a spirit master ... and on the middle of his beating routine, the original Yu Xiaogang lost his life and a soul from another world transmigrated and possessed his body.

'I got transmigrated into this dude?' Yugi wondered.

[Yu-Gi-Oh: True Exodia Incarnate] was his name. Yes, even those en dash and colon symbol is a part of his official name in the family registry. His parent was a weird couple, they named their children after whatever words they could think of. His big sister for example, her name is [Oshino Shinobu Acelora Orion Heart Under Blade] ... nickname Acel. His little brother is more miserable, his name is [I Am The Reincarnation of Artoria Pendoragon]. No doubt, thanks to that name, he and his siblings have a rough childhood.

Well, yeah ... that's what you get for having a crazy otakus as a parent. However, despite having a weird name ... Yugi is living a relatively happy life. After passing the junior middle school, people started to grow up and they began tolerate his name and even some started liking toward him as a person.

In his previous life, he was an undergraduate student. He went to the fourth best university in his country, but hadn't graduate even after six years. His last memory before the transmigration was that he was in the middle of a road intersection waiting for the traffic light turn green. But in a split second, a huge body of a tank truck zoomed into his vision. He was incapable of doing anything and out of reflex, he closed his eyes. In the next second, he was here ... in Douluo Continent.

'So I'm the kid Yu Xiaogang, huh?' Yugi mind shifted and he readily accept his transmigration. While he missed his previous life and family, but it's a transmigration! It's bloody damn way better than his boring life on earth.

Yugi hoped to get some system just like your typical transmigrated protagonist but after screaming some random words like status, system activate, show profile page, and embarrassing himself with the process for a while, he stopped. His disappointment was immeasurable, however, he soon forgot the matter as this is a whole new world different from earth.

He's excited with what awaited him in this world full of wonders.

One of Yugi's hobby is reading ... in his previous life, he's that guy who prefer read silently in one corner than engaging in conversation with his peers. He spent this last six months reading in the clan's library, engorging himself with the knowledge this world has to offer. While at it, he tried his best to avoid any potential trouble. He even goes as far as took the long road as to not met with those kids who bullied the original Yu Xiaogang.

His memory about Douluo Dalu is rather incomplete. After all, he dropped the novel because he felt bored with the tournaments after tournament. His memories about the Donghua was limited too, because he never completed watching the whole series. So he spend most of his time reading in the clan's library to get a better understanding of this world.

And what he found in the library was, pretty much nothing. Aside from the basic introduction to become spirit master, there's only biographies of some Extreme Douluo or something useless like that. The soul and spirit cultivation training method are also primitive and ineffective. Mind that in the future, the most common training method are Mysterious Heaven Art and Purple Demon Eyes ... which Tang San passed down to his Tang Sect. Prior to that, there's no complete comprehensive cultivation technique.

'Well, if there's nothing ... what's stopping me from making one?' Yugi thought extremely optimistic about it.

With all the knowledge that he has accumulated from this library, it will be shameful if he can't come up with something.

"Finally ... I did it, hahaha!!?" Yugi laughed hard seeing a lightning spark generated from his palm.

While it was only for a momentary and the lighting spark vanishes instantly, Yugi felt it was enough. He has trained silently in his room like this. His new routine consist of body training in the morning, reading and compiling technique in the library at noon, and training his Spiritual Power at night.

He had a radical and extreme ideas on how to train his Spiritual Power. That is, using external power as a source of energy and convert it into his own spiritual power. And what is that external power, obviously the most common power source back in his previous world ..., electricity.

His mindset is that, if he can change the spiritual power into electricity, then changing electricity into spiritual power is plausible too. To do that, the first step he needed to complete is using a nature conversion. From raw spiritual power into lightning. By making a lot of friction with the spiritual power, knowledge he got from Naruto on how to train lightning nature transformation, he managed to make this small spark.

It's just one tiny lightning spark, but with training and more training he believed he could produce lightning palm like a chidori or something similar.

Turns out, training one spiritual power is as simple as using it repeatedly. Just like a muscle, but also different. When one spiritual power is depleted from one's body ..., it got replenished and the capacity also got increased. It was not exaggerated increment like directly jumping into Innate Full Soul Power or something, but still not something that he could ignore. Yugi keep on training while taking note of his improvement on a small notebook.

'I feel like I have read similar concept in Mushoku Tensei ...' he mused.

On his first week of training lightning nature transformation, because the sound of the rampant electricity become too loud and noisy, Yugi decided to go outside and train in the forest nearby the city. He also stopped become a regular at the library, because he has finished reading every single books in there. He visited only when he needs to check up on something.

After just three weeks of training, he managed to create Chidori. It's destructive power is also not to be taken off lightly. It capable of cutting an old tree and breaking a giant boulder. The first time he used it, his whole body feels like flying straight forward. It only stopped when his Chidori hit something or he cease supplying his hand with Spiritual Power.

Yugi scared if he used it on another human, maybe he could pierce the whole ribs and heart of an adult. But people are strong, and spirit master even more so. They have sturdy body unlike mortal, so maybe those with higher cultivation capable surviving the chidori.

'Hmmm ..., what if I use the spiritual power to enhance my leg, will it increase my speed? Wait, just think about it for a second ... if I can use spiritual power as substitute for chakra, then does that mean I can use other ninjutsu?' Yugi had a moment of late realization.

He was too preoccupied with his idea on improving his spiritual power with that electric to spiritual power converter that he forgot there are so many cool things he could do with the ninja technique.

Unfortunately ..., while he know that spiritual power could be a substitute for chakra. Yugi didn't know how to mold chakra into the shape he desired. In Naruto, there's a hand sign that helped shinobi to mold their chakra to a specific chakra pathway. But Yugi's mind isn't that genius that he could remake such thing on his own from no practical reference. The concept of chakra pathway was too vague for him who previously lived in a scientific world, and he didn't want to putting himself on risk as one wrong step could cripple his body.

So, no cool jutsu for now. The thing he could do is limited to tree walking, waterwalking, and enhanced jump, kick and punch. Those didn't need any molding and only manipulation and control.

'Yep, that's plenty enough, maybe I could make a rasengan of spiritual power. Or just directly change the shape and nature of the spiritual power like what I did with Chidori.' thought Yugi as he writing another point to note. His notebook has been filled with his self-experimentation on spiritual energy manipulation. 'Well, that's for another time I guess ..., now I need to finish my Lightning Cloak first.'
