- B-Grade Evil Spirit, The Goblin King

MIKAMI CHIZU POV: After Katsumi explained his strategy, I went back to the cave, alone. *If everything goes as planned, I should be okay. * I thought, trying to stay optimistic.

I arrived at the cave and screamed " YOU MONSTER, I KNOW YOU'RE HERE! HOW DARE YOU KILL KATSUMI! " I heard its voice, but I couldn't see it. "Didn't I tell you not to come back? Do you have a death wish? Are you that eager to see your boyfriend again in the afterlife? " The familiar voice said.

"SHUT UP AND SHOW YOURSELF SO I CAN KILL YOU!" I shouted, with my voice echoing through the cave.

The goblin king laughed as I heard its loud footsteps approaching me.

Katsumi asked me to buy him time by distracting the B-class evil spirit, and if possible, to create an opening for him to assassinate the goblin king. *Stupid Katsumi, What do you mean, 'to assassinate the goblin king'? Does he really think it's that easy to get behind a B-grade spirit?*

I fired my pistols towards the sound of the laughing goblin king.

"Ouch, that hurts, little girl. Stop it. " The goblin king said in a sarcastic tone.

"Don't underestimate me, you ugly giant troll. Come out so I can kill you." I responded in an attempt to make the goblin king mad.

"Those are some harsh words for a pretty girl like yourself." The goblin king said, still not taking me seriously.

*I might not be able to kill him, but I'll make sure he won't be able to underestimate me again* I thought. I ran towards the goblin king while shooting him as a distraction. I waited for the goblin king to attack, so I could counter him, I know I don't stand a chance against him in strength. But a monster is a monster, it can't be more intelligent than me, so I'll fight it using my head.

The goblin king lifted its big, right hand in the air, then making its heavy hand fall down as if he was trying to smash a bug, it thought I was the bug, but... I dodged it and took out my knife, stabbing the monster in its hand, with the knife going through its hand, into the ground, so that he couldn't use his right arm anymore. I used this opportunity to shoot it in its eyes. Hitting all of my shots directed to its eyes, the goblin king put its left hand on its eyes.

I erased my presence to get close to the goblin king, and swung my blade, cutting its shins, and making the Goblin King fall on its knees, as it shrieked in pain."In your next life, I advise you not to underestimate pretty little girls," Mikami-san said, looking down on the pathetic looking evil spirit.

The goblin king let out an aggressive grunt in return, not giving a clear response to Mikami-san.

"Watch out Mikami-san, it's still alive and you're dropping your guard around it. I'll kill it right now," I said, walking towards the king, with my blade in my hand. "Katsumi, wait!" Mikami-san said.

"Why did you do that to those humans? why do you hold a grudge towards humans? What did we do to make you have such hatred towards us? "Mikami-san asked the evil spirit. "Because I have to, I have no other choice, It's because I'm a monster, why else would it be." The goblin king answered, sounding sad and regretful.

"Bu-" Mikami-san tried to talk to the goblin king, but I interrupted her because I didn't want to risk giving it time to recover. "Mikami-san, there's no point in talking to it, It's not just because it has the ability to speak, that it also would want to solve problems by speaking," I told Mikami-san.

"Yeah, you're right, just kill it, I'll wait for you at the exit of the cave," She said as she turned around, walking towards the exit of the cave.

And that's what I did, I mercilessly slit its throat with a compelling swing with the blade I inherited from my late brother, exorcising my first B-grade evil spirit, together with Mikami-san.

We both walked out of the forest without saying much along the way. Exhausted, but satisfied. 2 exorcists in training killing a B-grade, that's a really big deal, that means me and Mikami-san together are equal in strength to a B-grade evil spirit. *I wonder how long it will take for me to become strong enough to kill B-grade evil spirits by myself, protecting Mikami-san.

I hope sensei will be proud. But the case isn't over yet, well, maybe for the two of us it is, but I'm still curious about what the government is going to do about the bodies and what they're going to tell their families, could it be that the government knows something that I don't about my mother and Kei's deaths? A bunch of questions started crossing my mind, but right now, I felt too fatigued to look for the answers.
