Chapter 49 Flames of the Wit

The next day they all got ready. Even though she was hurt by yesterday's event she still pushed her self forward for today. She knew she had to grow stronger and she was determined to do so. Levi got ready to accompany her. They both put on light armor and where on their way. They arrived at the palace gates and were greeted by the dwarf. He went in and came out sometime later with a man in brown and green armor. The armor vest or breastplate looked to be made out of a fine brown material, he also had on bracelets to guard his forearm. And the cloth he wore underneath was loose and light. He stood about 5'9 and had small slanted eyelets and a slightly pale skin.

He stood straight and spoke firmly before Levi and Kara, "I am Zhang and I am tasked with taking you to the academy for qi users owned by the head family of Jordan."

As they walked, Levi couldn't fight off the urge to ask, "i understand that you all are powerful but don't you think it's a bit reckless leaving a dwarf to guard your gates"

Immediately he finished speaking they stopped. They all froze because Zhang stopped and turned to face them with slight frown on his face, " you must be joking" he said.

"Erm sorry but we aren't from this continent so uh it isn't common knowledge to us, nor a common sight to find dwarves guardian gates" Levi retorted.

Zhang seemed to recall something as both his eyebrows went up, " do not underestimate the dwarves, they may be easygoing fellows but the are strong easy going fellows. They're so in tune with their Qi which not only nakes them marvelous blacksmiths but amazing tank soldiers as well. They have the strength of ten men twice their size and are far better qi users than any man can ever hope to be."

"We've arrived."

The gates were open, with two men stationed outside. They walked in, being led by Zhang, and as they stepoed through the door they saw people running around, some doing some goibg through drillings. It was a big place filled with lots of people.

Zhang led them through another door, they walk through a silent hall way, well, not so silent if you consider the grunts heard as they walked past several doors.

They stopped at a door where Zhang knocked. A man opened the door, but before he could completely step out, Zhang drew his sword (katana) and was about to slash at the other man's neck, but the man held his own sword up and stopped the attack. Levi and Kara were a bit perplexed by what unfolded before them.

"Always be alert Costa" Zhang said and sheathed his sword and so did Costa.

"Welcome Head captain Zhang." Costa said with his hand clasped as he bowed slightly.

Zhang stepped aside allowing Kara and Levi come into view. "You have two new students who will be joining the new recruits."

Costa showed an expression of confusion, "this is .. sudden."

"Orders from the king" Zhang replied.

"Well I can't disobey a direct order now, can I?" Costa said with a small smile.

"Let them come in, we were just undergoing Refinement of the second stafe of Qi."

Zhang turned to Kara and Levi, "this is Captain Costa, he is in charge of the new reqruits and he will be your captain. You will listen to him follow his orders and show him respect. You have the favor of the king doesn't mean you should abuse it, if you step out of your boundaries there will ve consequences." After that short speech he walked out leaving them alone with captain Costa.

Captain Costa is a plump short man of about 5'4 . He is pale skinned and has small eyes like Zhang. He is bald, except for the few hair behind his head

"Don't mind him," Costa said with a light smile, "he can be grumpy but the firmness is expected of him, he is a head captain after all. Come in, let's get started."

They walked into the room and found about 30 people were on the ground, there were no chairs. They all sat in the ground, some were chatting while some where meditating. They also noticed another person in the far end of the class resting on the walls with her eyes closed.

Captain Costa led them to the front, "gather around we have two new recruits, these are ... Uhh. Right what are your names?"

Levi and Kara stepped forward, "I am Levi Samson of Dawnville"

"I am Kara Dawn of Dawnville"

"Very well Levi and Samson take your seats while the Qi lady teacges you how to refine your qi in the 2nd stage of Qi.

Iris put on his light blue uniform and went to the Georgalis Elemental Academy. The first thing he learned is chakra control. He was led by Dimas to the beginners chakra control class, and he was given a map and a time table to properly navigate the academy, and to know which classes he should attend.

While he was being led by master Dimas they had a small conversation, "during your fight you displayed advanced skills. It seemed like you had been practicing for years , but, you were erratic and reckless, you hadn't even learned how to make ice. And your chakra is a mess, just like the king said."

"These past months I have been on the run so I had to develop my skills on the spot, i even met the goddess Salamis once, but I never had time to properly train." Iris said in response,

"That is why even though you know advanced skills, you will attend beginners chakra control class, there you will learn how to balance your messy chakra."

They arrived at a door, and Master Dimas opened it. They walked through and Iris saw several students standing while an instructor moved around helping them with their training.

Iris paused and turned to Dimas, and asked with a frown, "what element are you blessed with master Dimas?"

Master Dimas smiled, "the same element as every pure blooded member of the Wit family."

Iris frowned, "which is?"

Dimas Wit lifted his right hand and and with a slight movement a small red flame appeared .....
