Chapter 33 Man In Blue Armor

Kara stood observing her surrounding, she heard a wheezing sound, with quick reaction speed, she ducked and rolled on the ground as two arrows flew over her head into the distance. She got back up quickly and noticed some men approaching her, there were ten of them, and they began to circle round her. The archer amongst them stood in front of her, an arrow already knocked on the bow ready to get a head shot.

I saw them and stood back remembering the lessons taught to me by Levi and Iris. I have to make the first move and take out the archer first, by enhancing my legs with chi I can move fast enough to Finnish him after he makes his first shot.

"Fire" I heard one of the men shout, and immediately and arrow came at me. I saw it coming, after training with Iris' water bullets these arrows seem to move in slow motion to me. I moved to the side avoiding the shot, then i dashed forward, but was intercepted before i got to the archer. One came at me from the side but I swiftly parried then went on the ground and swept the him off his feet, I grabbed him before he fell and used him as a meat shield then pushed him against the ones that were in front of me. But a sword came at me and I moved back but was kicked in the abdomen, I fell and rolled on the ground but quickly got on my feet. I got angry, after all the training I'm still this helpless against a couple of bandits.

She looked to her left and noticed the archer aiming at her, she frowned then dashed forward, as she did she let her chi flow to her arms and legs. When the archer shot at her, she knocked back the arrow. Two other bandits ran at her but she easily blocked their strikes, she grabbed one of them and pulled him forward putting her sword through him.

I froze. I just killed him. I-i_i j-just killed him. With the flood of emotions rushing through my head I didn't notice several arrows coming at me, but before they got to me, they were all knocked away by levi with his sword. Levi stood in front of me, I could feel the qi rushing through his body, he was angry, he ran forward and clashed with several of the bandits taking them out one by one without braking a sweat. The only one left alive was the archer who seemed to be quaking in his boots. Levi walked towards him silently. He walked towards him, picked him from the floor and placed the tip of his sword at his neck. He was about to end the archer's life but Iris placed his hand in his shoulder stoping him. "Take Kara inside Levi, she's hurt" Levi let him go and he fell down in his arse, he seemed to come back to his senses and ran at me with tenderness in his eyes.

Levi took Kara by the arm and led her inside the house. All the while the archer saton the floor scared, he didn't try to escape after seeing the way Levi handled the rest of the bandits, he knew he'd be caught before he took his first step. Iris walked up to him and got in a squatting position. He looked the archer in the eyes and spoke in a calm but commanding tone, "Talk."

The archer's eyes widened in fear, "I'll die if I talk, please" the archer pleaded in a pained tone. "You're going to die if you don't tell me what I need to know" Iris replied calmly.

The archer seemed to be in a dilemma, he pondered for a while,

"Look" Iris said, "if you talk, I will report this as you trying to rob us and the most you'll get is a few days to a few weeks in prison. But if you don't talk I might just kill you myself." Iris said as he formed a knife out of water and placed it at his neck.

"Look," the archer spoke, responding to iris' threat. "We are just bounty hunters, we were approached by a man, I swear I don't know who he is or where he came from. All I know is that he promised us 10 gold if we capture you guys, so we stalked you guys for a while and payed attention to when that captain won't be around to protect you. W-we just wanted the money. "

Iris frowned, 'who on earth would want us dead except the tyrant but he said he was approached by a man, so it wasn't the bounty that was put up' Iris turned back to the archer.

"This man that approached you, what did he look like?"

"He wore a blue armor and he had uhh dark hair and he seemed to be in his twenties"

Iris nodded, "did you notice anything else?"

The archer pondered for a moment,"yeah, he had this sigil of a crown on the left of his chest piece and the way he talked he spoke like he wasn't around here. He talked about finnishing this partnership mission fast, that's all I swear."

Iris was sure of one thing, the person that wants them dead is from Kingsland. It seems like his past is still coming to haunt him no matter how far away from home he is. He raised his hand and a small water bullet formed, the archer's eyes widened not understanding what was happening, "wha-wait I thought you were gonna let me g-"

But the bullet hit his temple and knocked him out before he could Finnish his sentence. He pulled him by the collar of his shirt into the house. He passed the sitting room where he saw Levi tending to kara. She had a few cuts in her and Levi was helping her to clean it up and patch it up.

Iris raised an eyebrow, 'huhh' he thought to himself.
