Boarding the Hogwarts Express

Neville and his grandmother arrived quite late at the King's Cross that day.

It was mostly due to Neville practising magic till late and also due to the fact that he stalled for time.

He knew from the movies that the train had departed not much later than Harry had arrived.

Yes, he planned to take the lead to be Harry's friend this time.

The original Neville had not joined him in his adventures and yet he had ended up giving a speech right before Voldemort.

If the original could end up in such a situation then he thought he could do more with a system.

"Neville Dear; Remember to be good friends with "Harry Potter". I have heard rumors that he may be joining Hogwarts this year."

The old lady's word brought Neville out of his reverie to the present. He had arrived at the train and was about to leave his grandmother to go at the Castle to study witchcraft and wizardry.

He had no suprise to her talking so as he knew that she would be interested in the boy who lived as he had "ended" the war although it came late for her own son it meant that his sacrifice had not been in vain.

" I'll do my best!"

"See you soon!"

Out of the corner of his eyes he could see the flamy haired weasely brothers getting on the train; he had observed their path and he could tell Harry's rough location.

Even if he didn't find Harry all he had to Di was to tail Ron and he was sure to find him eventually.

As for Hermione he planned to befriend her too once they reached Hogwarts.

It was just that Harry was his greatest priority at the moment. He really hadn't brought his troublesome toad Trevor along with him so in a way he had already

changed the plot.

He had heard that she had buck teeth in the books but not the movie version so he planned to identify her at the sorting.

After a short walk he saw the flame haired Ron go into a compartment from a distance; he walked into the compartment after opening the compartment door soon after and found the scene of Harry showing the scar to Ron playing out.

Harry and Ron turned to see Neville as he closed the compartment door.

"Hullo! I am Neville Longbottom.

"Do you mind me sitting here?"

"Not at all. You are welcome!"

Replied Harry as he desperately wanted to make some new friends and brush up on his lacking knowledge of wizards.

To Harry at this stage: the more the merrier !!!

All of them sat down and Ron proceeded to chatter

"So that's where You-know-who_?"

"Yes," said Harry, "but I can't remember it"

"Nothing?" said Ron eagerly.

Harry replied that he did remember a lot of green light but nothing else.

"Wow"

He stared at Harry for a long time and looked quickly out of the window once he suddenly realised what he was doing.

Surprisingly Harry was the one to break the ice as he asked to Neville

"Are all your family wizards?", asked Harry as he was interested in the quiet boy.

"Yes, All of them are wizards but I'm pretty sure that there must have been many squibs born in my family that I'm not aware of at the moment."

"Squibs?", asked Harry

"Just as Muggle families can get wizards born into them Wizarding families too get Muggles in them. Such people are called squibs. It is a bit of a unsavoury term so I recommend that you only use it in private."

"I really don't know much about the wizarding world."

Harry recounted some of his life and proceeded to say, "I bet I'm the worst in the class."

"You won't be. Wizards aren't allowed to use a wand before eleven so all of us have pretty much no experience at magic.

As for the general knowledge the population of British wizards is very small and Hogwarts even recruits students from other parts of Europe and Asia whose first language may not be English.

Atleast you won't be dead last in the class

Though I'd recommend reading books a bit more for potions as our potions teacher is very biased towards the Slytherin house."

Harry recounted the house system mentioned by the pale boy back at Madam Malkin's Robe for All Occasions shop.

"So what house are your brother's in?", asked Harry looking towards Ron who at some point had decided that the scenery outside the window was not interesting enough and was following the conversation.

"Gryffindors", Gloom seemed to be setting upon him again. "Mum and Dad were in it, too. I don't know what they will say if I'm not. But imagine if they put me if they put me in Slytherin.

"That's the house where Volde-...?", Harry couldn't finish as Ron jumped up in fright.

"Is everything okay Ron?"

"Yo..You said the name."

"So?"

" Harry, I know that you don't have been in the wizarding world for long but that name had been uttered by many and none of those survived till you came. It has some sort of curse on it. It still holds great fear among the people so don't go saying it in public."
