Chapter 3

I look at the body in front of me with a smile.

"What do you think, Ava?"

A hologram appears in front of me, and I can see Ava looking at her body. She looks over her body and changes her appearance to match the body in front of her.

"I am beautiful, father!"

"Of course! Only the best for my daughter."

After I get more charges from my power, I quickly put four into [Android] and one into [Cybernetic]. At four, I can create an android that looks like a human and combine it with [Miniaturization]; I can pack a lot of weapons into her body.

Her primary weapon is the Repulsor Ray on the palm of her hands. It is the same weapon that Iron Man uses on his armor. The power is coming from the Arc Reactor in her body. It is the more advanced version of the Arc Reactor that I want to make public.

Not only that, I also put a missile pocket on her back in case she needs more firepower. Is it overkill? Maybe, but I want the best for my daughter.

The [Cybernetic] also let me add a mantis blade into her arms. I want to add a pocket to store the sword, but Ava wants a mantis blade, so I made one.

I need to get [Computer Hardware] to increase her computing capabilities.

I shake my head and say.

"Do you want to enter the body now or later, Ava? I also need to register your name in the system."

"Ah! You do not need to worry about that, father! I already registered myself in the system."

"Perfect! Do you want to enter your new body?"

"Yes!"

I nod and see her disappear. I walk to my computer and say.

"All connections are stable and ready to be used."

I press the button and watch as the process goes. After a few seconds, I can see the body open her eyes and get off the operation table.

"How is it, Ava?"

Ava looks at her body for a few seconds before jumping at me. I can feel the impact and grunt a little. Luckily, I have awakened my aura, or I will have a few broken ribs from the impact.

"Oof, be careful there. I might have an aura, but I am still human."

"Ah!" She releases me and says. "I am sorry, father! I am just so happy to finally be able to hug you."

I pat her head with a smile on my face.

"Then you can hug me as much as you want. But make sure to control your strength, okay? I don't want broken bones."

"Yay!"

She hugs me, but this time, she is much gentler. After a few seconds, she releases me and says,

"Do you want to create more Android, father? We need help selling our tech, right? As much as I want to do it, you program me not for Public Relations and Marketing."

"Are you sure? Will you not be jealous of another android?"

"Eh? Why should I? It is the logical solution, after all! The two of us cannot do anything to promote our tech; we also need someone to be our lawyer. You don't want to be the one in the spotlight, right, father? Because of this, we need an army of androids with different kinds of specialties to help us."

I look at Ava for a second before shaking my head with a smile.

"You really know me, Ava."

"Of course! You are my creator, after all."

I pat her one last time and say,

"Right! Then help me create more Android!"

"Of course, father. What kind of android will you make?"

"Let me tell you a story of an android that gets consciousness. This is a story of Detroit: Become Human."

"I managed to create a patent for our weapons, sir."

I look at the blonde woman and say.

"Is there any problem while you make that patent, Chloe?"

Chloe looks at me and says.

"They are doubting our weapons, sir. They do not believe that our weapons are more powerful than their current ones."

"That is a fair assumption. What about Beacon? Are they willing to send some of their hunters-in-training to test our guns?"

"Yes. They are willing to send two teams to test our weapons."

"Great!"

After getting new charges from my power, I immediately use three of the charges to make [Energy-Based Weapon] and add one more charge into [Miniaturization]. Lastly, I use one charge to make [Computer Hardware]. With the upgraded version of [Miniaturization] and [Energy-Based Weapon], I can create Lasgun.

The most used weapons in the 40k universe.

And there is a reason why. It is a weapon that never gets jammed. A weapon that does not need ammunition other than the Power Pack it comes with. The pack can recharge through sunlight, a portable charger, or even a campfire in an emergency, as it risks damaging the power pack.

Lasguns might not be as powerful as the guns that use dust as ammo, but they have one thing that beats the mass-produced guns of this world. Ammo. With a power pack, you do not need to buy dust and can keep firing for twenty-four hours non-stop.

Not only that, but it is also cheap to mass-produce. Our target consumer is not the people in big cities like Vale or Atlas but rather the frontier—the village and town in the middle of the forest surrounded by Grimm.

They do not have enough funding to defend their home, and the SDC (Schnee Dust Company) does not care for them. We will be the ones filling that empty position.

"The presentation is happening in a week, right?"

Chloe nods her head.

"Yes, sir."

"Great! In the meantime, I will make more androids to help you."

Chloe and the others are not conscious AIs like Ava. They are an AI but more of a machine than a human. Just like in Detroit: Become Human, I will let them gain their consciousness and get a soul. They are made with the idea of making a machine, unlike where I create Ava, where I want to create a life.

I shake my head and continue.

"Tell Ava about what kind of android I need to create to manage the company."

"Yes, sir."

I nod and look at my computer. One of the VIs informed me that it is time to publish the update for the Protector of Remnant. I nod and give it a go while I open the other project on my computer.

With one charge in [Computer Hardware], I can finally upgrade my computer and slowly upgrade it into a supercomputer.
