Something is happening in Remnant. It is something that spreads like a virus. It is spreading so fast many people look at it in confusion. What is that, you might ask? It is a game. The game is called Protector of Remnant.

It is a tower defense game where a bunch of techs attack a horde of Grimm. However, it is not only tech that is attacking Grimm. There are also hunters and huntresses who help defend against the Grimm.

Each of the heroes has a unique voice line, ability, and attack pattern that makes people love to test all kinds of heroes in the game.

The game has taken the world by storm, with a staggering one million downloads in its first week. Out of the two hundred million population in the world, one million people have already purchased this game.

The price for the game is only five Lien. The platform takes thirty percent of the total sales, but even with that rate, the developer gets three point five million Lien in a single week. This kind of sale makes people jealous, surprised, and curious.

The game is so addicting that many young people play the game for hours.

"Ruby! Put away your scroll and do your chores, or I will forbid you from eating any more cookies for the next month!"

"No! Not my cookies!"

One of those people is Ruby Rose, the aspiring huntress and one of the Protagonists of this world. She is so addicted to the game that she forgets to eat and do her chores.

"Yang! Don't play on my account!"

While Ruby sweeps the house, her sister, Yang Xiaolong, takes her scroll and starts playing.

"Why, sis?~ I only want to see what kind of strategy you have~."

"No! You always try to mess up my ranking by messing with my building!"

The Protector of Remnant game has a ranking system in place. The first is the Local Endless Rank, where the player can compare one rank between family and friends they add to their account. The second one is the Global Endless Rank, where they can see where all players stand in the ranks. The third one is the Arena Versus Ranking, where the ranking is based on the rank of the versus mode.

Ruby is among the top one hundred players in the Endless Mode. Just like her semblance, which grants her speed, she loves using a strategy that lets her hit fast. It gives her an edge in the early game, but she has a hard time in the late game, where stalling is more important than burst damage.

As for Yang, she did not care about anything but big damage. Big damage creates big numbers and makes Yang very happy. Sadly, her strategy failed to land her into the leaderboard in the verses and endless mode. Even without landing any rank, she still loves playing the game.

"Oops~ I delete one of your towers, Ruby. My bad!"

"Yang!"

Ruby and Yang are not the only people who enjoy the new game. At Atlas, a woman with white hair looks at her scroll with a serious expression. She is Weiss Schnee, the heiress to the biggest company in the world and an aspiring huntress. She first encountered this game from her sister, who is secretly a gamer, and since then, she has played this game when she has free time.

"Argh! How can I clear this wave?!"

"Having trouble, sister?"

Weiss looks to the side and sees her sister, Winter Schnee, standing at the entrance of her room.

"Sister!"

Weiss puts away her scroll and sits on her bed.

"When did you arrive?"

"A few minutes ago. It looks like you are still playing the game, huh?"

"I must admit that the game is clever. It might look simple, but the gameplay can be complex the longer you play it."

Winter nods his head and says.

"Yes. It will get harder when you go through the 200th wave."

"Urgh. I cannot even pass the 150th wave, sister. I don't think I need to think of a way to beat a wave above that. I don't understand how the first rank in the endless mode reaches the 400th wave."

Winter keeps herself from telling the military secret to her sister. She knows who is the one in the first place, but this person's identity is a military secret, and she will get in trouble if she tells her sister that person is an android.

"Do you want me to tell you a secret to beat that level?"

"No. At least not yet. I will try to figure out the strategy to beat this level."

Winter nods her head in pride. She is glad that her sister does not take the easy path and instead tries to solve problems by herself.

"Very well. How are you, Weiss? Are you still keeping up your training?"

"Of course! I am–"

The two sisters bond through the game and get closer than ever.

Many people create a new bond through the game, and the bond even punches through race. Faunus and Human talk with each other about the game and create a closer bond. Without him knowing, the developer creates something that encourages unity.

"Finally! It is finally done!"

I look at the small device in front of me with a smile. This small device is the Arc Reactor. That's right. I manage to create the same energy producer as the one Iron Man uses to power up his armor. It is still the earlier version of the device that produces three gigajoules per second, but I can expand it.

I can create a bigger device and sell the energy to places that need energy the most.

This world is too dependent on Dust. Fuel for cars? Dust. Electricity for your daily appliance? Generated from dust-based plants. Robot? You bet your ass it is powered by dust.

This is the reason why the Schnee Dust Company (SDC) is the most powerful company in the world, and not many want to mess up with it. They are the ones holding your fuel to your car, energy for your house, and bullets for your weapon.

However, I can kick them out of the energy market with Arc Reactor. I only need a bigger version of it, and we are good. For now, I need to prepare to announce this tech to the world.

"Ava"

A second later, I can see a woman appear on my screen. She is an A.V.A. or Advanced Virtual Assistant. She is an AI. I created it to help me. After making five VI to help me create the Protector of Remnant game and after upgrading my computer, I decided to combine all of the VI and create an AI. So Ava is born.

"Yes, father?"

"Have you registered with our company for next month's Tech Expo?"

"Yes, father. I have already registered our company as one of the many companies that will showcase our tech to the world in three months."

"Perfect. That should be enough for me to create a body for you and make an android that will help me in matters of politics and marketing."

"I can do that, father!"

I chuckle a little when I see her pouting at my words and say.

"Do you want to do that and not help me with my project?"

Her pout gets bigger, and she says.

"That's cheating."

"It is not that I don't want to do it, Ava. However, you cannot take care of everything at once. You might be able to do it, but the result of your work will not be as good as when you are focusing on one or two projects."

"I understand, father."

"Good. While waiting for the expo, I think I need to start working on your body."

It has been ten days since I arrived in this world, and boy, I have been busy. In the first week, I used three of my charges into [Software] to let me create a stable and good AI. I use one charge on [Drones] and the last charge into [Tool Box]. The first is easy to understand, and the second is the same. The third one is something that I put after thinking about it.

[Tool Box] is a specialization that focuses on making tools that aid in various forms of tinkering, technological, medical, chemical, and others. This includes protective clothing and equipment to keep many tools from harming the user.

I need this one to help me build a drone. I need something to protect me; the drone is perfect, as Ava can control them. I already made five small drones that fit into my backpack and can be deployed immediately in case I get attacked.

After I got another five charges, I immediately put four of them into [Energy Production] and one in [Miniaturization]. That is how I managed to create an Arc Reactor. Now, I only need to get [Cybernetic] and [Android] to make a body for Ava.

For now, I need to prepare another Arc Reactor so that they can work properly.
