Innocent Beginnings Part ~ 1

(y/n was 12 and Wednesday 11)Y/N, who was now 12 years old, had been doing well since the incidents that occurred four years ago. Throughout this time, he had the constant support of Wednesday, who had become more than just a friend to him. Y/N felt a deep affection for her, something beyond mere friendship he loved her. However, he was unsure if Wednesday felt the same way, so he kept his feelings hidden. That was until their school announced a talent show, which sparked an idea in Y/N's mind. He decided to use his voice and guitar to create a song for Wednesday, without her knowing. Two weeks had passed, and Wednesday had noticed something was off. Y/N, who would typically want to spend time with her, seemed distant. This made Wednesday wonder if he was growing tired of her. She despised the fact that he had been ignoring her for two weeks, and she needed answers. One day, an 11-year-old Wednesday angrily ascended the stairs of the Addams mansion and headed towards Y/N's room. She was about to burst in but halted as she heard the faint sound of a guitar playing from behind the door. Muffled voice: "No, no, no, that won't work," she heard Y/N mutter to himself. She could also hear the sound of crumpling paper. Wednesday let out a sigh but was interrupted by Y/N's voice.Y/N (muffled): 🎙️ I saw her dancing at a funeral, and that's where it starts, yeah, in Asbury Park. There's something absolutely beautiful about who you are, yeah, a smile in the dark. 🎙️ The boy sang quietly, and Wednesday smirked as she realized that he had been avoiding her all this time because he was crafting a song about her. How did she know? Well, Y/N and Wednesday had attended a funeral when they were very young, and that's when they began to discover more about each other.(This song is wide eyes by jawny and I didn't know before, but Asbury Park is actually in new jersey and that is where the Addams family live lmfao)Wednesday decided to give Y/N more space but no longer than two days. Fortunately for him, the school talent show was scheduled for the next day. It was now time for supper.Morticia: "Wednesday, my dear, supper is ready. Can you go let Y/N know?" she called from the dining room.Wednesday: "That's if he will let me see him first," she replied, already emerging from behind Morticia. Y/N came running down the stairs, looking lively and having regained his energy over time.Y/N: "Oooh, it smells good! What do we have for tonight?" he exclaimed, inhaling the enticing aroma of spices and herbs in the air. He glanced at the table and saw his favorite dishes.Morticia: "Well, we all know it's Cinco de Mayo, so Gomez and I prepared enchiladas, machaca, tacos, and tamales. We have it all."Y/N could see the disappointment on Wednesday's face, and he already knew why she was upset. Her favorite meal hadn't been prepared, and she had been eagerly waiting for it since the last Cinco de Mayo. Last year, she couldn't eat anything due to an illness.Wednesday: "I don't feel like eating anything," she pouted and walked out of the dining room.Morticia: "Wednesday, are you sick again?" she asked, concerned.Y/N: "Hey, Mrs. Addams, do we have any leftover ingredients?" he asked, smiling. Morticia: "Yes, why? Is something wrong?" she responded.Y/N: "It's just that Wednesday has been waiting for a particular cuisine for two years, and, well, it wasn't made this year."Morticia: "Oh, goodness, I hadn't realized. Well, what does she like? I'll start making it now," she said, feeling guilty.Y/N: "I think it would mean more to her if I prepared it for her," the blond boy said, his face turning slightly red.Morticia: "Oh, aren't you just a lovely gentleman?" she remarked, glancing at Gomez, who playfully blew kisses in her direction.Y/N walked into the expansive kitchen, donned an apron, washed his hands, and began preparing the ingredients: hot sauce, shredded chicken and beef, chorizo, cheese, coriander, and onion. Y/N neatly arranged all the main ingredients on the counter. Wednesday returned downstairs, seeing everyone eating except for Y/N.Wednesday: "Where is Y/N?" she asked curiously. Just as she spoke, she heard noises coming from the kitchen along with the sound of classic Spanish music. Morticia pointed to the kitchen, mouthing, "He's cooking something special," to her daughter. Intrigued, Wednesday allowed her curiosity to guide her, and she found herself standing at the entrance of the kitchen, where she saw a calm Y/N chopping onions.Wednesday: "What are you doing? Wasn't there enough for you?" she asked, not managing to startle him until he looked up.Y/N: "Hey, il Mio oscuro Amico, you're just the person I was waiting for. Can you cut up these tortillas for me?" he asked, sounding both excited and confident. Wednesday walked over reluctantly, washed her hands, dried them off, and took the knife Y/N handed to her. She looked down at the tortillas, puzzled, but said nothing.Y/N: "Here, I'll show you," he said, placing his hand over hers and seeking her approval with a nod. Slowly, he guided her hand to cut the tortillas into small strips, and Wednesday watched, observing the concentration on his face, as a smile crept onto her own.He then handed her another tortilla.Y/N: "think you've got it now," he said with a smile.Wednesday: "I'll manage, but really, what are you making?" she asked, getting lost in his green eyes.Y/N simply turned around, whistling, and began cooking the shredded chicken.Y/N: "It's a secret," he replied. Wednesday sighed and continued cutting the rest of the tortillas into strips. Once finished, she silently walked behind Y/N and tugged on his arm, prompting him to turn his attention to her.Wednesday: "I'm finished. What do I do now?" Her curiosity caught his attention, and he turned to face her, glancing at the tortilla strips with a smile.Y/N: "You did great. Now, what we're going to do is fry the tortilla strips. Can you pass me the oil while I grab the pan?"Wednesday: "This better be something good," she said sarcastically. However, Y/N knew her well enough to understand she was joking, and he chuckled.Y/N: "Trust me, la mia rosa scura it will be." (my dark rose)(Remember that Y/N speaks Italian, but he only started learning Spanish around the time they were expelled.)Wednesday: "Come on, Y/N, you know I'm still working on my Italian, so I'm not sure if that means what I think-"Y/N: "Well, what do you think I said?" the boy interrupted her.Wednesday grew flustered by his sudden confidence and boldness.Y/N: "Oh, my sweet Wednesday, sei così Carino quando sei confuso," he said with a bold smile.(you look so cute when your confused)Wednesday tried to decipher what he said as Y/N went ahead and grabbed the oil and pan, turning on the stove before starting to fry the tortilla strips. After a moment, Wednesday realized what he had said. La Mia rosa Scura means my dark rose, she thought to herself and unexpectedly hugged Y/N from behind.Y/N: "What's this for? Who are you?" he jokingly asked before hugging her back. She pulled away and playfully hit him on the head.Wednesday: "I am not cute. I-I'm scary?" she quietly mumbled the last part.Y/N: "You are scary, but you're not scary to me, and I love that," he said, booping her nose. She was left startled, feeling an unusual sensation inside. She had felt it many times before, but this time it felt stronger.Y/N: "Now, are you gonna help or what?"Wednesday nodded, and Y/N once again showed her what to do. After a while, she grew too hungry to even move, so Y/N set up a resting place at the kitchen's breakfast bar. He left her favorite snuggle blanket with her book, which she was currently reading, along with some sliced fruits and water. Once Wednesday got comfortable, she didn't bother opening her book; she simply watched Y/N the whole time. She observed as the tortilla strips turned golden and crispy. Y/N drained the oil from the pan and placed the crisp tortillas in a bowl, covering it to prevent them from going stale. Y/N noticed Wednesday watching him and playfully winked at her. The enticing aroma of freshly cooked chicken filled the air as Y/N packed it up as well. He grabbed a saucepan, poured in some red sauce and hot sauce, diluted it with a bit of water, and added salt and pepper to maintain the seasoning. He turned on the heat and left the sauce to heat up while he grabbed a knife, peeled and chopped the onions into thin slices, and separated them. Wednesday could smell the spices in the air as a familiar scent filled the room. She looked at Y/N with eager, puppy-like eyes.Y/N: "What?" he asked.Wednesday: "I'm pretty sure I know what you're making, but I'm not entirely sure."Y/N: "Well, you'll see soon enough."Y/N turned off the heat and added the chicken, tortilla crisps, sour cream, onions, coriander, and cheese to the sauce. He also sprinkled some jalapenos and avocados on top before serving a generous plate for Wednesday and himself to share.Wednesday's eyes lit up, and she couldn't contain her joy as a genuine smile spread across her face. She looked up at Y/N, her expression filled with gratitude and happiness.Wednesday: "You remembered my favorite meal, Chilaquiles," she exclaimed, pulling him into a tight bone crushing hug.Y/N: "I could never forget. You've been waiting for years to have it again," he said, gently fixing her braided pigtail.Wednesday: "Thank you, Y/N. I genuinely appreciate it. I'm glad everything worked out," she expressed sincerely, releasing him from the hug. She couldn't wait any longer and eagerly began enjoying the delicious meal, making sure not to create a mess. Y/N joined in, savoring each bite.Suddenly, Mr. and Mrs. Addams walked into the room, witnessing the heartwarming scene.Gomez: "I don't remember making this," he remarked, maintaining his smile.Morticia: "That's because Y/N lovingly prepared it for our daughter, knowing it was her favorite," she explained to her husband.Gomez: "Is that so? I had no idea this dish was her favorite," he chuckled.Y/N: "Well, I didn't want our dear Wednesday to starve tonight," he responded with a warm smile.Morticia: "You're just like your father, a gentle and loving man. I know he would be proud of you, Y/N," she commented before gracefully exiting the room, with Gomez following her like a lost dog.Y/N gazed at Wednesday, who seemed to be captivated by the food, but quickly averted her eyes, hiding her blushing face. Y/N tenderly placed his hand on her cheek, gently turning her face to meet his gaze. Her cheeks felt warm under his touch, displaying a rosy tint that spread across her freckled nose and cheeks.Y/N: "You know, I could get used to this," he said, caressing her cheek soothingly.Wednesday swallowed her food before responding, her voice filled with curiosity.Wednesday: "What do you mean, get used to what?" she asked, studying his eyes intently.Y/N: "I could get used to making you a fresh meal every time you wake up, comforting you after a rough day at work, or even when you're tired from looking after the kids all day. I could get used to calling you pet names and being there for you," Y/N confessed, making her heart beat faster. She blushed uncontrollably, her lip pursed as she bit her lower lip.Y/N noticed her reaction and decided to tease her further.Y/N: "You know, has anyone else ever told you how cute you are? Has anyone ever mentioned how beautiful you look when you're lost in your own world? Hmm? Well, I can answer that myself... No, no one has ever said these things. But I have. I've always thought about how kissable your lips are, even when you're yelling at me. That's why I don't always listen I'm too busy thinking about you, Wednesday," Y/N playfully moved closer to her, mirroring her actions.Their faces were so close that they could feel each other's warm breath. Wednesday looked up and down Y/N's face, closing her eyes, anticipating the kiss she desired. But to her surprise, Y/N simply went to take a bite of the food he held in his fingers. Her heart pounded, and she couldn't understand why she yearned for that kiss so intensely. Taking a deep breath, she slowly exhaled, trying to regain control over her urge.Meanwhile, in Y/N's mind, a thought crossed his thoughts.(Y/N's mind right now)I think I've teased her enough for tonight. The grand finale will happen tomorrow after the talent show. That's when I'll make my move. After they finished their meal, Y/N prepared their favorite dessert a delightful combination of Choco-Churro Donuts with Dulce de Leche and spiced dark hot chocolate. It was yet another treat that showcased Y/N's thoughtfulness and attention to Wednesday's preferences.
