The Art of Entering

Captain Cold:

Checking my cold as I drop-in, the portal closing behind the four of us, I then look up at Wayne Tower. Like a needle in the pitch-black, cloudy, sky, the tower is sticking up, piercing the clouds, the blue lights from the "Wayne" sign barely visible.

Catwoman, Harleen, Poison Ivy, and I all standing on top of a nearby abandoned building, we peek over the edge and saw the entrance. As expected, the double-door, glass entrance is heavily guarded, four One Earth soldiers armed with an automatic rifle and squads of betas walking back and forth on the street in front of them.

"Son of a bitch," I say, grabbing the others and pushing them down before one of those damn bots can see us. "Well, any idea?"

"Why are you asking me," Poison Ivy asks, "You three are thieves. I'm just, as the guy called me, a tree hugger."

"Well 'tree hugger'," I reply, "Considering we're because of your stupid fucking trees, how about you do all of us a favor and jump off? Maybe take down a few betas before one of their hooks goes through that skull of yours."

"Be friendly won't you," Harleen says, "We're all on the same side."

"Don't remind me," I say, carefully peeking over the ledge. Seeing the same as before, four soldiers and about 20 betas, I look around for something useful. Unfortunately, there isn't really a whole lot around. Literally the only building in all of Gotham that had people in it, the surrounding building and streets are bare, except for the rats and roaches that now called them home. Following one particular squad of betas, I start to form an idea when they walk past a building.

The entrance is wide open, there not even being a door, the inside is pitch-black. Getting back from the ledge, I turn to the three.

"Why did you just summon a few friends to go down and kick some ass," Harleen asks, hitting Ivy and pointing over the ledge.

"Why did you just go down there yourself and 'kick some ass'," Ivy replies, hitting her back. "Or maybe tell a few knock-knock jokes? Just make sure they're funny so they're laughing and not just shooting you!"

"At least I can actually kick some ass," Harleen yells back, raising her hands. "Rubber bullets!"

Right before our eyes, the suit wraps itself around Harleen's hand, staying there for only a few seconds before returning and leaving behind a gun!

"What was that," Ivy asks, lending close but Harleen pushing her back.

"It's Sunglasses Man," I answer, "Apparently, the guy gave each of us our own excell-something suits and each one of them has their own ability."

"Why didn't I get one?"

"What is this? The 5th grade? We each have to have one? Listen, the three of you, I have a plan to get inside, but it involves us actually working together. So for now, all three of you shut up, and here's the goddamn plan!"

Catwoman:

Climbing into the building through one of the open windows, I watch as Harleen climbs in after me, screaming a little as she did.

"Ouch," she screams as she enters. "Ahh! I am not as flexible as you are."

"Shhh," I scream back, slamming my back against the wall beside the empty doorway. Crouching down, I peek around in time to see the squad of betas Cold mentioned earlier.

"Here they are," I whisper, Harleen reaching the other wall in time. Summoning her dual revolvers, the guns forming right in her hands, I pull out my whip and whisper "cat guards". The same small black boxes from before forming in my hand, I crush them against the floor and watch as the cats come to life.

"3," I say, looking at Harleen.

"2," Harleen says, looking back at me.

"1," we say, standing up together and attacking the betas!

Captain Cold:

Watching from on top as Selina cracks her whip, her whip wrapping around a beta's head, she pulls it in and stomps on its head! The other betas see Selina, their eyes all turn red and they all raise their arms. Before any of them can fire the hooks in their hands, however, Harleen pops out and fires off a bunch of rounds!

"Insurgents," one of the One Earth soldiers scream, pointing at Harleen and Selina. While the other three aim down their guns, the soldier that screams reaches for his radio.

"Go, go, go," I scream, jumping up and firing. Aiming down my sight, I hit the soldier reaching for his radio first before he could call for help. The other three stop and turn around, they look around for a bit before finding me and Ivy.

"Up there," the soldier yells, pointing at the two of us. Now aiming at us, they almost immediately forget about us when little, creepy as hell, robot cats latch onto them. Screaming and trying to pull the cats off, I fire at the side of the building.

Making a kind of "ice slide", I turn to Ivy.

"Jump," I yell, the slide ending at the street.

"What? No!"

"Jump now!"

"No!"

"Jump!"

"Still no!"

Grinding my teeth against each other, I grab the hippie and toss her over the ledge. Hitting and landing on the ice slide, she slides down it before rolling onto the street.

"Remember the plan," I yell from on top of the building. Freezing some betas when they see Ivy and start running toward her, I point at the soldiers.

"Do it now," I yell, cupping my mouth. "You stupid fucking hippie."

Poison Ivy:

"Stupid fucking bank robber," I say, getting up and running to a soldier as fast as I can. Breaking free of the ice trapping him, he sees me and reaches for a pistol on his belt. Pulling it out in time and aiming at me, I slap the gun out of the way and blow pheromone dust in his face.

Coughing and hitting his chest, his eyes turn a bright pink color with bits of green in them.

"Tell the betas to stand down," I say, looking as more betas start to surround us. "Come on! Tell them now!"

The mind-controlled soldier grabbing his radio, says some sort of command that causes the betas to stop advancing, their eyes going from red to black.

"Yyyyeeesss," Harleen screams, walking out from the abandoned building. Catwoman walking behind her, she kicks over a beta, the sound of metal hitting the asphalt. "We did it! Yes!"

Captain Cold:

Jumping over the ledge and falling onto my ice slide, I slip down it, coming to a skidding stop onto the street. Getting up, I regroup with the "ladies".

Seeing the three other guards desperately trying to break out of the ice, I bump Ivy in her arms and point at them.

"Do your creepy, pink dust, magic thingie," I say.

"It's not magic," Ivy replies, walking toward the guards and blowing pheromones dust in their face. Their eyes now also turning pink, Ivy orders them to break out of the ice before ordering them to gather in front of us.

"Yeah, this isn't creepy at all," I say, watching as the guards turn around and guide us into Wayne Tower. Hearing a cat meowing, I turn to Catwoman and see her patting a robotic cat, with two others following behind.

"Holy hell."
