Act 2: The Void

When Alex woke up, he was in a bright room, muffled voices touching his ears.

"He's here! He's here! Goodbye, dumpster hole!" an energetic voice cried.

"Calm down, Destross," a girl laughed. Her voice was as sweet as honey, though a bit stern.

Alex sat up and looked around. He was on a pink couch, his clothes surprisingly dry. There was a television, a coffee table, and… no walls?! All Alex could see was endless dark.

"I see that you're up," the voice of the girl said. Alex turned and saw the girl.

She was tall, with flowing hair the color of gold reaching down to her feet. She had blue eyes as light as the ocean and wore a long blue dress with a golden ribbon.

"Who are you? And why aren't I… dead?" Alex said, beginning to panic.

"You are in Lake Stratos! Here to accept your destiny!"

Alex looked down, and there, in front of his very eyes, was a tiny fuzzy red creature with yellow eyes. It had long ears and a long tail, accompanied with wings so black, they were almost purple. It was pretty cute, but looked like if it needed to, it would kill you swiftly and painfully. This was due to its black claws.

"What the heck are you?!" Alex asked.

"I am your guardian! My name is Destross, your personal demon! I'm meant to help you save… literally everything," the creature grinned, its mouth stretching wide into a grin.

"Ross!" the lady cried. "That's way too much to dump on him! Let him process!"

"Fine. I don't suppose you have a better way of going about this?"

The lady nodded and said, "Alex Morner, you are pure of heart, meaning the deities have given you the power to hop through dimensions. You're meant to bind all dimensions together and save all organic life. Any questions?"

Alex stood still in shock. "Wh-What? I can't be…"

Destross shot the lady a look. "Told you you couldn't do any better, Cal."

The lady walked over to Alex and put a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay? I know, it's a lot to process. But this is your destiny, Alex."

Alex looked up at the lady and smiled. "I guess I'm just happy I have a destiny."

"You will meet three girls. These girls will be destined to help you save the dimensions. It's all up to you now, Alex."

Destross climbed up onto Alex's shoulder. "Alright, let's go Al!"

"Al?"

"I'm great at nicknames. It's one of my charming traits."

The lady held out her hand, which began to glow with pink light. It enveloped Alex and Destross, and when Alex blinked, the void was gone.
