8. Fight with Goblins!

"What are the magic spells that you can use Roland?"

"Master, now I am a junior mage with 2 attributes, dark magic and shadow magic. I can use only one level 4 spell which I tried to use on you at our first meeting , it is a binding magic instead of trap magic. I can use 3 level 3 spells, 1 of them is spell which is obtained by combining both attributes and it's a defensive spell, the other two spells are dark magic spells which are learnt from Bolnav's forbidden dark magic series, I was lucky to obtain from my teacher who is a superior master mage, I also know couple of low level spells of curses and reviving dead monsters."

"You have a teacher?"

"No, he is a undead superior master mage who died in a fight with a second order angel and before he died he casted a spell to inform nearby undead about his inheritance, he wanted his legacy to continue."

"Didn't you get any high level spells, his equipment or research materials?"

"The spell attracted many undead, after a bitter struggle I got Bolnov's series, though it is incomplete it still has some level 4 and level 5 spells which didn't learn now. I will learn them in the near future when I become senior mage."

"Then why do you call him teacher?"

"It's like paying gratitude"

(Maximo: Dina, who is this Bolnov?)

(Dina: It is not right time for you to know about him, I will tell you when the time comes.)

(Maximo: Forget about it.)

Maximo placed sleeping Posy in a pouch which he tied to his waist, in such a manner that she is exposed to air and sunlight.

Duo of Maximo and Roland continued their journey into the forest, the forest is very dense, they are mostly going in a way that doesn't have many monsters in it, if one or two pops up Roland would take care of them since most of them are low level ones, on their way they found 3 goblins munching on some fruits beneath a tree,

"Master, they are kryesor (3) and rank 1 monsters, with your cross bow you should try to kill them"

(Maximo: Is it okay?)

(Dina: Unless you screw it out somehow, your chances of victory should be at 90%)

Even though Dina assured him, he was still worried, in his entire journey here it is the first thing he encountered that looks like a monster. Although Maximo is afraid, he is still a retired military major, he went into many battles in his entire carrier, he composed himself quickly and slowly approached goblins with crossbow in his hands,

Goblins, they are creatures which are found everywhere in the Nexus except Heaven, they are grotesque looking vile and malicious creatures they have low intelligence higher type may have intelligence of a small human , there are many Goblins like goblin warrior, goblin mage, who are generally dytesor type, terciar types and mutated goblins of krye type can be found in extremely rare cases. Their bodies are fully green, ordinary goblins wear a piece of tattered cloth to cover their lower half and always have a weapon like club or stick with them.

Goblins got alert seeing Maximo, they took up their clubs and ran towards him,

"Now die"

"Foosh"

*Splash*

"Kiiiiiiii...."

Maximo shot a arrow which pierced a goblin's head, the other two goblins paused by their companion's death and began to hesitate, Maximo used this chance to shot another arrow.

"kiiiiiiii"

Another goblin died, the last goblin threw away it's weapon and began to run towards the inside of the forest,

(Dina: There may be a goblin's nest inside, it's better for you to kill it here)

Maximo chased after it launched another arrow killing it.

"This crossbow is very strong"

"Of course master, it is made by puternic stone, it is not on par with diamond, putere extrema, mithril and adamantite, it still a very strong one."

"Let's go now"

They restarted their journey, the forest is huge and thick but moisty, it is like the Laurel Forest of East Asia but it was somewhat dry. The only difference is that, he can sense some danger anywhere and every where, there are also fearsome monsters and weird vegetation he didn't encounter anywhere,

(Dina: Stop!)

(Maximo: What happened?)

(Dina: Go 15m to your east)

"Roland, follow me"

Roland quietly followed him, he guessed that Dina has instructed something to Maximo, they approached the area and saw a plant with orange flower on it, it looks like a ordinary plant but Maximo heard Dina's voice,

(Dina: It is called mai putin rezistenta herb, it can help you recover some stamina. It is one of useful herbs which can be found in this forest)

"~*yawn* Posy, at your service~"

"The shrimp has woke up"

"~Hi Rollo you look more funnier than before, did you use some spell or something and want to entertain Posy~"

"No, I want to kill you shrimp"

"Posy"(Maximo)

"~Maxyyyy~"

Posy moved towards Maximo and rubbed it's cheek on Maximo's cheek affectionately.

"You.."

"~Posy shouldn't?~"

"*Sigh*, do whatever you want."

Maximo couldn't bear to see tears of the adorable creature so he let it be. He slowly approached the plant and picked up the flower.

(Maximo: Should I consume it directly?)

(Dina: Yeah you can, it is better to refine it into a potion but there are little to no items here, you can eat it directly.)

Maximo ate it and suddenly felt refreshed and energized.

"It's good"

"Master, should we collect more?"

"Yes"

Maximo and Roland picked 4-5 flowers and Maximo put them in his Inventory(Dina's space).

The trio continued their journey into the depth, Posy and Roland bickered all the way, Maximo had a headache because of them but as a result he was not bored and it alleviated some of his stress.

They gradually reached end of their path, a steep mountain slope and looked at the beautiful valley in front of them.

The valley wasn't in a exact V-shape, it has some up's and down's but what makes it is special is the color in the air which is like rainbow and it's moist atmosphere, there are some monster birds flying in the sky and the entire area is covered in green but there is some smoke and fire visible even from such a long distance.

"It is Maroon Valley"(Roland)

"Those are Monster settlements Master"(Roland)

"Which monsters?"(Maximo)

"They must be goblins or kobolds"(Roland)

"~Goblins are disgusting, Posy hates them but Kobolds look cute especially newly born ones~"

"The mana is very dense that it is visible to naked eye, so there are many monsters here, it is a perfect place for training Master, there are also many edible plants, eatable and tasty monsters here, I came here many times when I was alive"

"Ok, we will came here for night and head in tomorrow morning."

Hearing that Roland came here when he was alive, Maximo was very curious about Roland's identity and past. But he didn't want to know about him for the time being because even if Roland is some sort off prime minister or Psychotic serial killer it has nothing to do with him as he is new to this world not to mention Roland is already dead and raised to become an undead, since all the undead have skeletons, he will face no problem, he might want to know about his past in future but not know. Maximo current aim is to increase strength of his party.
