In the cultivation realm, there is no such thing as mercy. Other cultivators would happily fight against each other, vying for the title of the strongest among all. Even the strongest sects would send their disciples to participate in a tournament every year to determine which sect was the most influential.
Of course, this only applies to sects that focus on training explosive martial arts - physical violence. Those who teach restorative, alchemical, and even inner martial arts are not included in the competition. Instead, they showcase their skills in specific venues that make them known to the public.
In every sect, there is a sacred rule that must be obeyed without exception. Known violators, including the masters, will be expelled immediately for killing humans, whether they are cultivators or ordinary people. Those who don't obey the rules will never be accepted into any recognized sect; instead, they may become rogue cultivators or join illegal lesser sects.
