27. Green and Blue Revolution

India is almost prepared for war with China, using almost half of the GDP, India was able to secure all of Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Burma and Sikkim. The border of Uttarakhand currently Uttarpradesh will be secured within the next few months.

China is trying to integrate Tibet diplomatically as it don't want to start a war while another war was going on in its backyard. Atleast not without securing it's border their. But I am sure that it will attack soon just like my world.

India offered to act as middle man in the conflict between the two nationt to sort out their problem, even tried to put pressure on China but the diplomats were asked (read threatened) to leave.

Tibet asked for advice from us, we replied that if it decide to become a part of China than it will need to move out of theocracy as China will not accept it and so either change into a constitutional monarchy as it may be more amicable to China or to be careful of China putting it's puppet as Dalai Lama and being suppressed as a religion as well as citizens.

Some of my foolish opposition may think why do we need to help Tibet or what do we gain from it. Well Tibet acts as a buffer between us and China with the only common border being Burma and Jammu and Kashmir. And Burma was secured to the max of what current technology could provide after Japanese invasion. As for Jammu and Kashmir we have already prepared by building bunkers and forts on mountain and hills. Air strips are being constructed for air force.

Also while I have completed faith in Sam Manekshaw but I don't have faith in future marshals so all the forces of the country will not be controlled by one person. Field Marshal, Air Marshal and Admiral will be of similiar power in their respective fields who will act on the order of president, only person who can declare war or any military action when a council of ministers agree with him in a majority. The different commando units which are not under these forces will operate under civilian organisation.

Both the Marshals and Admiral will be watched by agents of special forces and all these agents details will be given to president. Special forces will also be centralised like CIA, so that no misuse of power or some overly ambitious head tries something.

We have built naval bases on Lakshdweep Maldives, Sri Lanka, Andaman and Nicobar and Chagos archipelago. All these islands are being developed for future tourism specially Chagos archipelago because of its Lagoons but they are also defended enough to defend against small fleets for some hours, enough for reinforcement to arrive. The Great Nicobar island naval base is the most strategically placed base, able to block all trade from Malacca strait to keep China in check.

So we are prepared for war with China anytime. As for development, I proposed a bill for 3 capitals of every state but only state not country because we will have to cut a whole district out of the states and no state government will like that. First, an administrative and judicial capital of the state. Second, and economical capital that will work as special industrial zones and most of the business will take place. And lastly a cultural,educational and medical capital for all cultures and religion, with the best schools, colleges and hospitals of the state with world class technology.

It got some resistance as building 3 cities to be a capital for a state is a big task but it was finally passed as it has its own advantages.

Along with this, a new railway network hass also been started on a new standard gauge railway track for future bullet and high speed railways. Over the next 10 years all the broad gauge tracks will be replaced with standard gauge tracks. Metro rails are also going to be started soon in every city to provide better connectivity in cities. Every city will have full fledged metro rail network by the end of 1970.

Indian media and tv channels has grown a lot due to the creation of animes, cartoons and tv shows. Soon movies will also start to be streamed on tv generating a huge revenue for media. The policy of small 10 second break every 5 minutes is very helpful.

Radio channels are also following this pattern and I hope will stay like this and not like my world where they give more adds than music and news.

The green and blue revolution has started in the country this year. We gave HYV seeds that require less water for greater yield and are being planted as per the specification of agriculturist on the basis of fertility, water availablity, etc. They also advise the farmers on what to grow according to the natural factors.

As for blue revolution, drainage system is being built and improved based on the Indus valley civilization which will be later connected to every town and village. For now drainages are being built in every city with proper covers so that garbage from inside the drains don't come out during floods and they don't get clogged due to plastic waste thrown in them.

At the same time canals are being built on rivers and lakes to provide water in every village for farming as well as proper ways of irrigation being built as per the agriculturist instructions.

My company has also started producing mini tractors and ploughs for the farmers which are already cheaper than normal tractors and will also be sold at cost price on a loan to those farmers who can't afford it. But, for those who can afford it, it will be sold at market price.

They can also rent these tractors from the Saraswati Agriculture, named after my mother, this organisation will provide tractors for a daily rent to the farmers where they can borrow it for a small rent for a day. A branch of this organisation will be opened in every village.

Maps for roads and metro rails are being planned by using Japan's idea of using slime mold and food for designing railway tracks. Using this method, a model of the city is prepared using sugar and ants are allowed to come. The path they take to roam inside the model will become our roads. This method increased the efficiency of road network and also told us of the areas that will be most prone to accidents. As for metro rails, the original method of slime mold was applied.

Two major highways are being constructed from Northern most city to Southern most city and Eastern most city to Western most. Other highways are also being constructed under state governments joining 2 or more cities and the towns and villages lying in between these cities, bringing traffic and trade to these regions.
