First REAL battle!: Chapter 5
The scene continues where we left off, they are all in battle stances, it seems unfair because Simon and Dahlia came prepared. Simon pulls out a chain scythe and begins swinging it vigorously. In the blink of an eye Simon disappears and appears behind Vin and Ugo.
He throws his chain scythe that apparently misses both of them.
"Haha, you missed!" [Ugo]
"Ugh, this is embarrassing" [Dahlia]
"That can't be seriously the best you can do" [Vin]
As they all are shocked in his seemingly bad performance a clone if Simon appears and steps on the chain as it flies through the air causing it to change trajectory and fly towards Ugo and Vin again, this time, faster and more accurate.
"How are there 2 of him?" [Vin]
"I don't know but we gotta dodge this one." [Ugo]
They both jump sideways to evade the blade. Dahlia takes the opportunity to begin her own assault. She jumps towards Raizel, Raizel prepares in kind by creating a small flame, however Dahlia is fully prepared, she flicks her wrist which unveils the blade of a ring she wears which she then uses to cut herself. She bleeds, more than she should, more than anyone should honestly, the blood however doesn't just spill around, it's flowing around Dahlia, it forms thin sharp blades at it's edges.
"Disgusting, you better not get blood on my dress!" [Raizel]
"Oh shut up, you'd be lucky to get my blood on you" [Dahlia]
They begin to engage in furious combat, Dahlia has the elemental upper hand but Raizel doesn't give up, they trade blows, Raizel is able to deal a critical blow to Dahlia's black dress which contrasts her white hair.
"How'd you like that?"[Raizel]
"Lucky Shot."[Dahlia]
Dahlia responds in kind, her eyes begin glowing a deeper red and she turns to a red mist and begins phasing around Raizel slashing her each time causing her to bleed profusely, she then notices her blood is acting strange, it's wrapping around her and restricting her movement.
She attempts to break free but ultimately it's completely wrapped all around, Dahlia has succeeded in the capturing of Raizel, now it is left to Ugo and Vin to try and subdue the problematic Simon.
"Wrap it up Simon, i'm done with her, she wasn't much fun to play with honestly." [Dahlia]
She boasts as she shows of Raizel tied in strings of blood like a trophy.
"Raizel! We have to finish this up and save her!" [Vin]
"I completely agree" [Ugo]
" i'll be done soon Dahlia, lemme just take out the trash." [Simon]
Simon begins to let off a flurry of attacks in which Ugo and Vin have no problems dodging, the main problem was his extra fast movements which seemed odd, until Ugo realised they he wasn't fast but was infact just teleporting, but just knowing would not give them the advantage so Ugo focused and studied his teleportation while attacking and using debree from the surroundings as well at weapons and projectiles to urge him to use it so he could study, that's when he noticed a minor lag between his teleportations which was the snap of a finger and a faint flash of light. He quickly relays this to Vin to further synchronise their battle strategy.
"Hey Vin, you see what happens right before he changes locations?" [Ugo]
"Of course i did, the lights? Yeah, i was just waiting to see if you'd notice too."[Vin]
"Sure you did, dumbass, now let's hey really serious." [Ugo]
"You don't have to tell me twice." [Vin]
"What the hell are you guys blabbering about? Planning on giving up yet? I guess i'll forgive if you grovel before me" [Simon]
They suddenly begin charging at him, Vin activates his self taught shadow step which basically allows him to move between shadows and seeing as it's night it gives him a special advantage right now, so now he's able to outpace Simon but Simon can still teleport, Ugo who unfortunately hasn't developed any magical abilities despite strong connections to it even in his blood, has extraordinary physical capabilities so while Vin specialises on keeping Simon distracted he creates openings for Ugo to deal more heavy damage. Simon is having a harder time to keep up with this new strategy even with clones as Vin's speed can easily take on more than 3 opponents at once. During this Simon gets frustrated causing a slight lapse in judgement, Ugo takes the chance to throw a stone which initially missed its target but Vin using shadow step is able to kick it to hit Simon's thumb right before he could snap his finger.
This allows for Vin and Ugo to land a simultaneous hit Ugo goes for the head and Vin his legs causing him to spin and fall into a wooden box.
"Yes, the plan worked!" [Ugo]
"Don't celebrate just yet, he's getting up already." [Vin]
"Dahlia, it seems we may have underestimated the Lunaria's little toys, i suppose it's time i went all out!"
All of a sudden 9 clones appear surrounding the area, this time they all possess his chain scythe as well.
"Uhh, i don't think we can handle that many variables, his fighting pattern was already unpredictable enough, 9 more is just overkill." [Ugo]
"Can you not go on about how badly we're going to lose right now?" [Vin]
Seeing her friends in a dire situation, Raizel comes up with the idea to simply boil all the blood away which will hurt her wounds as well but she's willing to take that pain. Her hair begins shaking vigorously and all the blood begins evaporating. Dahlia notices and prepares for a round 2.
"Oh, it seems the loud mouth has still got some fight left in her, i can't wait." [Dahlia]
Now all the clones have launched an attack with their chain scythes, it looks almost not evade-able, what will they do to possibly get out of this mess?
"That's enough of that." [unknown man1]
A stern voice speaks from amidst the chaos in the alley, and suddenly everything has come to a halt, in the blink of an eye he's in the middle of the chain scythe attack which he quickly uses disarms with the snap of finger, almost like it never happened, all the clones had been unsummoned and the attack completely nulled.
"You realise fighting a fellow Ascender is a crime? Right? If this was even a day sooner you guys would be expelled." [ Unknown man1]
The man with short green hair and black piece of armor speaks to them, Dahlia and Simon seem to be aware of who he is by the way they lose composure and adhere to his words.
"That's enough of that, everybody get some rest your punishment will be cleaning the training grounds for a week!" [unknown man1]
"Oh man, i just knew i shouldn't have followed you Simon, you're such bad luck" [Dahlia]
"Oh shut up, you had fun." [Simon]
"Ah, you must be Lunaria's pupils, i'm Sir Jayce, sorry for the trouble, i should've noticed sooner, i'll make it up to you sometime." [Jayce]
"So….Sir Jayce, that thing you just did, what was it? Because i don't sense any magic from you." [Ugo]
"Very perceptive of you, as expected of Lady Lunaria's pupil, you're right, it's not magic, it's Celestech, and what i used it for was to reverse time, but of course this is only unique to me, Celestech is so advanced it's similar to magic, it basically just gives you the technology with nanobots who analyse you and your imagination which then formulates an ability based on your own personal data, so almost nobody else can do what i do, exactly as i do. [Jayce]
He says while striking a boastful pose, he's so full of himself, i'm sure he's popular with women.
"Oh sorry, did i go off rambling again? You guys should probably get to your dorms and rest, the trials start tomorrow." [Jayce]
He says as he exits the scene after reversing the wounds on Raizel.
"Ugh, he seems so full of himself, i hate his type." [Raizel]
"He literally just healed you Raizel, don't you have a sense of gratitude?" [Vin]
"Oh put a sock in it." [Raizel]
"Welp, that's new, there's so much we can get to know and so much we can do once we become Ascenders, i can't wait for tomorrow!"[Ugo]
"Well, he definitely has his father's thirst for knowledge, that's for sure." [Vin]
"Yeah yeah, let's get going." [Raizel]
