In the World of Tensura WAY TOO EARLY, Another Route

A reimagining of my other work, In the World of Tensura WAY TOO EARLY!!! This work has been completely rewritten with a new protagonist, a more mature theme, and a lot more lore-accurate information than my previous works in the Tensura series.

Reckoning Day (Part 3)

(Alaster POV)

After beating the tar out of what had to be at least fifty armed guards it seemed the onslaught had finally come to an end. I was actually a bit surprised that the building didn't collapse on top of us with all the sword beams Paul and I were throwing around, however, I'd have to say we did our jobs as a distraction very well.

"Only the personal guards of the Nobles from the Super Magic Empire are likely to be left over. We should make our way inside and help Scar and Dan rescue the slaves." I stated, looking over my shoulder to an exhausted Paul who was bent over, catching his breath.

"*Huff* *Huff* What are *Huff* you made off? *Huff* You're a freak *Huff* you know that?" Pau;l spat out in between deep breaths.

"Aww! That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me!" I playfully responded.

"That wasn't a- LOOK OUT!" He yelled as my instincts blared and I quickly jumped forward, spinning in the air and just barely dodging a slash from a scythe.

I landed on my feet and quickly drew my sword to block another strike coming from my left this time. A loud *CLANK!* ran out in the main hall of the theatre as our weapons met. I opened my eyes in shock seeing who my opponent was.

"Dagon! I killed you!" I yelled.

"Ha! You think you killed me do you? Unfortunately for you, I'm not as weak as my younger twin brother!" He shouted as his strength suddenly increased and I was launched towards a wall.

I twisted myself mid-air ensuring my feet landed against it and lowered my sword before bouncing off the wall towards him.

"I never imagined I'd be adding twins to my kill count!" I shouted pouring power into my blade as it began to glow.

I poured a large amount of Holy Energy into is, coating it with a combination of my Aura and my Unique Skill, recreating a technique that would be so ironically used by a certain Paladin later in history. He widened his eyes for a moment while simultaneously transforming his staff magic weapon into a shield, like his brother did, however, I was not as weak as I was then.

"{|Melt Slash}|!" I called out as I brought my weapon down on the man. I added a burst of energy to it to ensure he wouldn't be able to dodge it.

There was a loud steering sound followed by the sound of meat being seared as I cut into the man. His weapon had been destroyed as well as his armor, however, certain instincts must run in the family as he was able to just barely dodge being cut cleanly in two by my strike, similar to his brother.

Of course, I didn't have as much control over my power back then as I do now, so even though he avoided being cut in half, he was still burned to a crisp by the remaining energy of {Disintegration} I had used on my sword.

I exhaled as I lowered my sword, finally having defeated the beast for what felt like the second time. I turned to look at Paul who had a dumbfounded look on his face.

"Y-you make it look so easy. I was told by Dan that the others all together couldn't defeat Dagon yet you can defeat him in only a few exchanges?" Paul said.

My eyes opened wide at what he had just said. "Wait! How does Dan know that if Dagon killed everyone in that fight!?!" I yelled at him.

Paul was taken aback y my shout and looked at me with a complicated expression before his face paled. "No... no... NO! It can't be! Dan has-" He started to freak out but an eerie voice silenced him.

"My name is Ezekiel actually. Who the hell names their kid Dan and why did you believe that was my name? I knew you were stupid but that is ridiculous." Ezekiel stated as he walked out of the shadows followed by Irene and another woman I didn't recognize. He looked to the torched corpse of Dagon's brother and clicked his tongue before glaring at me.

"You know you just committed the greatest sin a human could commit right? Killing a High Human!" He spat with disgust.

"Really? I thought it was a two-for-one deal since I killed both brothers in nearly the same way." I replied sarcastically.

"You were always so infuriating you know that?" he replied.

"Thanks. Insults from an enemy are praise for a fighter." I replied with a sarcastic aloof tone.

"I'm looking forward to breaking him." the woman said, licking her lips.

"Sure, Sadi, but only break his mind. He'll make a good replacement for Merodach and since Dagon is being replaced by that Arch Daemon, we'll need one more to keep the 'Six', part of our title from becoming 'Five'."

"Who do you think I am? I'm the favorite of Lord Jahil due to my ability to break test subjects and make them more compliant. Slaves, do your work!" She called out and dozens of men and women appeared from doorways and windows around us. They all wore a strange set of glowing armor and were equipped with whips that looked to be made of light as well as a plethora of other weapons. Irene also stepped forward, unsheathing the sword I had given her earlier today and pointing it at me.

"Hmm. No. I've changed my mind. I'll defile her later while Alaster watches on under domination. Irene, kill Paul." Ezekiel commanded with a sadistic grin.

"Yes!" Irene replied, wasting no time in approaching Paul at full speed, intending to run him through, but Paul was able to just barely get over his shock long enough to catch her blade with his two knives.

"Irene! Listen to me! Snap out of it!" Paul cried out.

I was too busy to assist him in any way. I was constantly dodging arrows and light whips as they were swung at me, cranking up my [Magic Sense] to its maximum to dodge the sheer number of enemies I was dealing with. It wasn't just their numbers that were the problem either. The space was rather small and if I used anything too flashy to blow them all away I was one, likely to bring down the building on top of us, and two, likely to kill Paul, Irene, and maybe even Scar, wherever he is.

I grit my teeth when I thought about Scar and turned to Ezekiel. "What did you do to Scar?" I yelled.

"Why should I have to answer a question for you?" He stated before smirking evilly. "I'm sure his owner is making up for lost time with him. He is probably eating her out while she tortures him I imagine. Prosipina seemed pretty intent on getting him back and keeping him."

I stopped moving at that moment. I was so angry that I had to physically stop my body before I made a mistake. Several arrows pierced my abdomen and light whips wrapped around my arms and legs. They lightly burned my skin, however, my regeneration was faster than the burning so I only felt a slightly warm feeling.

I gripped my sword tightly before quickly flexing and releasing a large burst of energy, expelling the arrows from my body and disintegrating the light whips that bound me.

"Paul. Duck." I said flatly.

Paul did as he was told immediately and quickly tackled Irene who was taken off guard and fell to the floor with him. At that instant, I swing my sword in a crescent moon pattern and decapitated or cut in half all of the mobs surrounding me.

That Sadi woman tumbled to the floor, having tried to jump over my slash but not reacting fast enough, as both of her legs had been severed cleanly. She screamed as she fumbled about yelling her head off about 'her legs! Her legs!' but I quieted her with a secondary slash which split her in two.

Only Ezekiel, who happened to have drawn his sword and blocked my strike had survived, and even he was pushed back some two or three meters from where he stood before. He glared at me immediately after blocking the strike only to go pale when he realized that he was the only one alive.

"Wh-what in the world? How can this be!?!" He called out, unwilling to accept the reality around him.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I took a step towards him, instantly vanishing from my previous spot and appearing in front of his face. "Weren't you going to dominate me?" I asked in a monotone voice.

Ezekiel jumped back in a panic, but before he could land, I had already appeared behind him with the |Instant Movement| Art, grabbed him by the back of the head, and slammed his face into the rotting wooden floor.

"I thought you were the strongest of my pupils, Dan? You were the leader remember?" I said, slamming his face into the ground again and standing up but not before putting my boot on his back to ensure he wouldn't go anywhere.

I looked towards the back door. Just a moment ago I had heard a scream coming from there, though it was a woman's scream. I waited a few moments as I heard slow footsteps approaching.

"Welcome back. Are you alright?" I asked Scar as he walked through the door. His face was bloodied and his eyes looked hollow. He was currently holding a knife coated in blood and with small pieces of flesh still hanging off of it.

At this time, Ezekiel, who had recovered from the daze of having his face smashed into the floor looked toward him in horror. "What happened to Prosipina!?!"

Scar looked at him and regained the color in his eyes as they were dyed with hate. "I killed her. Stabbed her right in the-"

"Sacr..." I called out in a hurt voice. Scar had a completely naked upper chest and I looked on in shock at the litanty of old wounds that decorated his chest. To be honest there was so much scar tissue that if it wasn't for the outlying lines of scars, then I'd have assumed it was all one BIG scar from his neck down to just above his crotch.

"Scar looked at me with a pained expression before he fell to his knees.

"Scar!" Irene cried out, having been released from her domination when Sadi was killed. Irene ran toward him and dove to hug him and Paul limped over to him in an attempt to show he was still there to support him. Paul had a wound on his leg that looked like he had received when he tackled Irene to the ground.

I raised my sword in the air above my head, fully intent on killing him but that's when it happened.

I felt a wave of pressure hit me. It wasn't some sort of dizzy spell or a state of drunkenness that affected me at all. It was something else. Something deeper. My [Magic Sense] was blaring and I felt that all of my instincts were telling me to run or to hide or to just get out of the area I was currently in.

I felt something wet run down my cheeks and brought a shaking hand up to touch it. It was blood.

I fell to the floor and began to puke blood and spasming all over my body. In my broken state all I could do was lay on the ground and shake violently. While in the middle of my seizure, I somehow willed myself to look up at the others, only to see they were in the same position I was.

At hearing the voice of the World's words, I felt a sense of panic overcome me but I knew that with this, I would live, even if it would feel like hell while doing it. It was then that I blacked out.

(Nameless Daemon POV)

"Well, that was easy. What a worthless man to have sent someone like ME to do something so trivial. All it took was a single spell huh? I thought there would at least be something entertaining to do here in the material world but- wait." The Daemon stated as he hovered over the city.

He had sensed something. Something that had happened after he released his magic. It was a response from his [Magic Sense]. It had shown him that something yet lived in the city which he was going to destroy.

"Interesting. Maybe this won't be such a boring trip after all." He stated with a smile.

The Daemon flew down to the floor of this town and casually floated through one of the many holes in the wall of an old and seemingly decrepit building, though recently he could tell there was a battle from the destruction caused nearby that was still fresh.

He looked around at the room, noticing various corpses still in the process of rapidly decaying due to his use of magic, {Dath Streak}, which killed all life and even destroyed the soul, however his eyes stopped when he saw a young man, laying on the ground, shivering.

"Interesting. For a human to survive an attack for ME. Especially one that attacked his soul." The daemon smirked, having found something that may have made his entire summoning worthwhile.

He reached his hand forward, intent on collecting this unique soul when he suddenly was struck by a wave of drowsiness.

"What's this feeling?" He thought as he backed away from the young man and began to examine his own form.

It had seemed that somehow, he had regained much of the power he wielded in the underworld, though not all of it. He noticed his feature become almost entirely human in appearance, losing his horns and tail.

"I see, I've incarnated using all the corpses huh?" The daemon thought happily. He briefly looked back at the young man, however, feeling euphoric over the situation, his new feeling, incarnation, and the finding of someone who could resist his strength, even as limited as it once was, had given him pause.

"I hope we meet again, young man. You seem like a particularly interesting individual so I'll let you live... now I don't really feel like dealing with that wizard again... I'll summon Blue and Green to deal with him after I collect more souls. I want to see if I can awaken further." The Daemon thought before grinning evilly.

"I'll take them from his nation then as payment." The Daemon thought as he floated out of the hole in the wall he flew in from and disappeared into the night.

.~.~.~.

A/N: I know some people are going to be kind of unhappy about how the whole scene ended, but that was kinda the point. I wanted to show that the world doesn't give a sh*t about your problems or your issues or what you're doing at the moment or how climactic it is. Someone strong can just kill off a whole city in an instant and invalidate all of your hard work and life's achievements.
