“You really don’t have to.”
“I want to, so deal,” Merrick replied.
Ryan grinned. “Dealing.”
Sunday went much as Saturday had, with Merrick coming out, on and off, to check on Ryan’s progress. He made Ryan take a break for a leisurely lunch on the patio. While they ate, they discussed what Merrick should do with the front yard. Ryan was all for leaving it the way it was, with the bushes surrounding the trees on either side of the path to the front door, and under the windows. Merrick wondered if maybe beds of flowers in front of the bushes might not be a nice addition. “All one color, like blue or violet.”
“No. Something hot that accents the colors of the bricks. Orange or scarlet, or both.”
“Interesting. I’ll think about it.”
