How do you feel about the King?

Carrissa woke up at noon, she felt the sun's rays brush against her perfect white skin.

She stretched and yawned and her eyes wandered around the room.

As unwilling as she was, she was still a human at the end. Her body had reached its limit thus extending her sleep by a few hours.

Her eyes gleamed coldly when she remembered the treatment she was given yesterday.

King? So what of it? Does that title give him the right to treat everyone like his slaves including his own wife?

She wondered where she had gone wrong. Naturally, she wouldn't admit to it that because of her constant talk, she had infuriated him thus leading him to drag her out.

This was the second time that she had been given such 'preferential treatment'. Her admiration and all vanished into thin air and all she felt fit him now was hatred.

She didn't force him to marry her? So why was he like this?

She took a hot bath to relax her nerves and walked to the dining hall. She was famished.

Her stomach grumbled lightly at the sight of the laid-out food and she blushed in embarrassment.

Nevertheless, she ate without hesitation and soon she laid back while rubbing her tummy which had bloated a bit by now.

Carrissa decided to take a walk to enable the food to digest faster and that could also save her from dying of boredom.

The life of a Queen was like this, so boring.

"Hah!" She sighed. She had never signed up for this but it seemed that this was her fate. Even though she had been relieved of the shackles, she still had many factors to take into consideration, such as her family's reputation.

She knew that this was why Auric easily accepted it then, he knew that she wouldn't go overboard because of her family.

Such a cunning fellow.

"Your Majesty!" A masculine voice called out behind Carrissa. Majestic strides were taken towards her and Carrissa turned to stare at the person who called her. It was a familiar figure with a black pompadour and a stunning handsomeness, Odin.

"Lord Odin," Carrissa responded to his greetings with grace.

Odin smiled and kissed the back of Carrissa's hand.

"Your Majesty, I wish to ask for your pardon." Odin began with an apologetic tone and a serious face. " The King was furious yesterday and vented his anger on you. I hope you forgive him."

He had an honest expression on his face, Carrissa blinked when she heard his words, she looked back and immediately, all her maids distanced themselves from them.

"I understand but why are you the one apologizing?" Carrissa questioned, her eyes gleaming with a hint of curiosity making her look like a modern-day sleuth. She knew that the King would not send Odin to apologize on his behalf since he was too proud. This also meant that Odin was doing this on his own without any orders and that was what made Carrissa suspicious.

She had heard of many kingdoms which fell because of internal warfare and even though, her kingdom had managed to stay strong without any it didn't mean that the future would be the same.

Long story short, she didn't trust Odin.

Odin chuckled internally when he saw her detective-like posture. It seemed like this little girl did not trust him and she was right to be suspicious.

He had not interacted much with her since she stepped into the palace and today he was here apologizing for someone who didn't even care.

She was right to be suspicious.

He felt the urge to play along with her but in the end, he couldn't. Her cute face won him over.

"Your Majesty, there is no need to be suspicious, I have no ill intentions. I am merely here to apologize for the bad behaviour of the King." Odin said straightforwardly causing Carrissa to be startled a bit.

He didn't beat around the bush. That's quite impressive but that didn't mean she trusted him. Well, she did trust him a bit now.

Thinking about the way Auric trusted him and looking at the amount of time he had spent with the King, Carrissa reluctantly gave up on her suspicions.

Anyway, he was too handsome to be a traitor.

If Odin knew what she was thinking, he would have laughed till his stomach hurt. Handsome people could not be traitors?

That's hilarious, she should pay a visit to the heavenly realms then.

"Don't worry. I am not that petty." Carrissa said which shocked her consciousness. She was not petty? Well, she didn't know about that.

It seemed that she had to change her notion about people who were not petty because it seemed as though those people, break people's noses just because they stared at her.

Odin also smiled in response, "If so I would plead that the Queen calls me by my name." Odin started, his smile caused all the wariness she felt around him to disappear.

She smiled and without hesitation said, "Odin."

They both smiled and she also requested about the same thing.

In the span of a few minutes, their friendship had evolved to the point where they called each other by their first names.

This would truly make people jealous if news about it were to spread out.

The youngest daughter of the great Heavenille family now turned Queen and the right-hand man of the King.

They walked ahead while maintaining a peaceful silence around them. Carrissa wondered if he had no work to do since he was strolling about with her but she didn't mind anyway. It was great to have someone accompany her around the large palace.

"What do you think about the King?" Odin suddenly asked making the expression of Carrissa to freeze.

What did she think about the King who was also her husband? She knew that Odin was asking her as a wife, not a citizen thus her present expression.

It's been a few weeks since she stepped into this palace but she had not received any love from the person who married her. He treated her badly, made her sleep outside and never made an attempt to touch her.

She didn't care about that since she had no feelings for the King.

She had been married into the royal family and even though she was unwilling, she had to do it for her family.

The Heavenille family could not be considered weak but in front of the royal family, they had to bow their head.

So now, the question at hand was, what did she feel about him?

She felt nothing...

The sympathy she felt for him had vanished last night, so now she felt nothing for him.

Her hatred was not that heavy too so it could be said that she saw him as a stranger.

Carrissa turned and stared at Odin, her beautiful face in contemplation.

"I do not...feel anything for him."
