Confrontation gone wrong

By the time Carrissa arrived at the castle, it was almost dinner. She had spent quite a lot of time in the zoo but that didn't mean that her mind had been erased from what she heard.

No matter how many times she thought of it, all the factors pointed to her husband being queer.

I mean can you believe it? Her husband was queer. She, the great Carrissa had gotten married to a queer husband.

She walked through the hallways and made her way to her royal chambers, before speaking to Auric, she had to change herself into comfortable clothes. Her clothes were too suffocating for her own liking.

She stared at herself in the large mirror and scoffed in disbelief. This was so unbelievable! She left for dinner.

As she descended the grand stairs, her mind was in conflict. She saw Auric emerging from the opposite side with Odin trailing behind him. The latter's eyes softened and he smiled at the rear.

Carrissa squinted her eyes at the duo and several alarms rang in her mind. Nevertheless, she descended the stairs while purposefully swaying her lithe waist.

She wore a jade black off-sleeve dress which had a slit reaching to the upper thighs.

Upon reaching the end of the stairs, Auric raised his head to stare at Carrissa. He stared at her while his eyes glimmered with a strange light.

She looked...awesome, beautiful and like a goddess descending from the sky. He felt some emotions which he had never felt before, he felt hot while he could feel his neighbour down there rising up in greeting.

The other members were of no difference except the maids who had their heads held low, the butler had his eyes wide open while Odin blinked continuously.

Auric, the husband of the focal point had his mouth run dry in amazement and shock but he quickly regained his blank composure.

The Kingdom of Egriel had a unique way of dressing, even though the neighbouring kingdom wore gowns, they wore simple dresses which was free to move in but that didn't mean that they neglected the gowns. They wore that too.

The Queen disliked revealing her body so she opted for clothes which covered her perfect body but today she made an exception.

Carrissa smiled upon seeing Auric's reaction, she didn't mind the others' reaction, she only cared for Auric's. The smile soon fell from her face when Auric regained his composure in less than two minutes.

She frowned a bit and continued on her way to the table.

While eating, she noticed that Auric paid no attention to her. Her frown deepened and after clattering her plate to eat a few bites, she rose and left, leaving the confused face of Odin and the nonchalant expression of Auric.

Auric raised his head one more time to stare at her retreating back.

"Is there something going on between you? "

Odin raised the fork which had implied the meat to his mouth. He bit on it and chewed it gracefully.

Auric said nothing and continued with his meal.

Carrissa banged the door closed. She was literally fuming. Even though she had not fallen in love with him she felt hurt that he married her when he was bent. Did he ever think about her?

Well it was fine in the beginning since she thought that he would allow her to go one day but she understood that he would never let her go because he needed a fucking ablibi!

Auric entered the room and Carrissa's eyes flew towards him, her blue eyes were the epitome of ice now, freezing him in his steps.

While the latter thought Auric stopped because he was momentarily shocked by her fuming face, that was not the reason.

The latter stopped because, he saw something which aroused the dormant feeling he felt in the dining hall.

He felt his pants tight ends he saw her plump bottom which was seated on the bed

With great effort, he managed to move. He began undressing and then Carrissa spoke.

"Why did you marry me? " She questioned, her voice was full anger and pain.

Pain because, she started to believe that he was a good person behind that cold facade.

Auric paused on the third button and turned fully towards Carrissa, he killed talking but this little human was too much of a parrot. He knew that if he didn't answer her question, she would frustrate him all night long. Prevention was better than cure.

" You looked like my saviour. " Auric answered curtly while his blank orange eyes lingered on her, he turned towards the mirror and picked up from where he left.

Carrissa had her jaw brushing the floor, she was surprised. This wasn't the answer that she was expecting. She was expecting to say something like'I married you for your beauty' or something else.

Wait, what did he mean by that anyway? Was he trying to say that he saw her as the perfect alibi to prevent outsiders from knowing his sexual presence or that she meant something to him?

She took in the first theory because it sounded plausible, Auric never showed her love since she stepped into this castle thus, there was no way that he felt that way about her.

"Did you even think about me? Did you think about how I will feel when I find out? "Carrissa yelled. She wanted an answer so he should give her one!

Auric pulled down his shirt and stared at Carrissa with a raised brow. Wasn't she supposed to be happy about his answer and what did she mean by 'when she finds out'.

Don't tell me that she knew that he was not human. He didn't plan to tell her, at least not now.

He threw the shirt onto the floor and walked towards her, Carrissa's throat felt heavy when she saw the scene which was being presented to her eyes.

What he coming to do? Was he going to kill her because she had found out?

Her eyes dived around in search of something, she knew that the King was strong and she wouldn't be able to out power him thus her only way was to use an external object. Her eyes fell on a nearby vase.

Auric neared her and when he was about to ask about it, Carrissa attempted to hit him in the head with the vase, he held her hands in place and his furrow deepened as he stared at her hands which held the vase and then her face.

"What is the meaning of this? " Auric asked with a dark cloud looming behind him making him look like a grim reaper.

Carrissa gulped. This was the first time she had felt fear in her life. She was surprised that her attack didn't work even though it was one of surprise. Her end was near!

At this moment she wanted to call out her father like she had always done when something happened to her.

She knew that confronting him would lead her to danger but she did it because of her impatient attitude.

"I-I... "

"Speak! "

Carrissa jerked a bit when he yelled, her head fell low as her eyes wandered around.

He had pinned her on the couch and even though their position was intimate, she felt fear.

Carrissa didn't speak. It wasn't that she didn't want to but nothing came out of her mouth so she resolved to shutting it up. She felt something warm entered her brain and she felt dizzy a bit till it vanished within a second.

Auric stared into her eyes and searched her memories but found nothing. He finally found out why she behaved in that manner and after starting at her again, he let her go.

Carrissa gulped in air after air as though she had being under the sea for a year.

She scurried back into the seat and hugged her knees.

Auric stared at her and responded." Odin is just a friend, I am not like that. " he walked into the bathroom immediately after saying that.

Carrissa blinked continuously as she tried to digest the information which she had collected.

She never knew that he could be this fearful and moreover, did he just clear his name?

Ho did he know? Did she mutter it or had he also heard the maids gossiping about him?

Whether it was this or that she was just glad to be alive.

She exhaled loudly and fell back into the couch.

Her eyes diverted to the bathroom and several emotion passed through her eyes.
