The End of the Fairytale
Beatrice sniffled, trying to compose herself. But then Gilbert spoke again, his voice low and tense. "Do you know what happens to a woman who gives herself up to the devil?"
Beatrice's heart raced as she shook her head, feeling the anxiety growing inside of her. The sweat started pouring out of her temple as she struggled to form a coherent thought. "W-what will happen?" she asked, her voice shaking.
In the story her nanny had told her, there had been no mention of what would happen to the woman who gave herself up to the devil. The unknown terrified her even more.
"They will drag them to their realm and they will become the devil's bride. The woman's humanity will slowly be stripped away, and they will become the devil themselves," said Gilbert with a serious tone, his emerald eyes looking at her with urgency.
Beatrice's stomach knotted even tighter as her body trembled. 'So I will become a demon?' she thought to herself, her mind racing with fear and panic.
